Why do so many talented singers never become successful?

You could apply the same proposition to writers, actors, directors, pianists etc.It is very competitive out there. How many singers have auditioned for X-factor or something similar? How many get onto the next stage? How many then win the competition outright? How many then actually succeed? The answer to the first question is perhaps millions. Five or six million. How many out of those five or six million have actually become successful musicians in their own right from X-factor? You could probably count them on one hand. They say that for every actor that makes it in Hollywood, you have thousands waiting tables in restaurants, who will never make it, who will die and be forgotten about in three days.Sir Alex Ferguson was once asked what does it take to become a top footballer? He said, you need three things: talent, work ethic and a lot of luck. You can apply that theory to any profession such as acting or becoming a CEO of some big company. The amount of good singers is a dime a dozen. Literally millions of good singers available. To make it as a musician you really have to be able to compose music as much as be able to sing well. Someone once said that Paul Simon was about 99% of the duo Simon and Garfunkle and it is true. Like most of us in life, Art Garfunkle was replaceable, just like the pianists that recite Chopin or Beethoven are. It was Paul Simon who was composing all the songs. He could easily and i mean easily just have got someone else to sing them.“There is and always will be thousands of princes; but there is only one Beethoven.” - Ludwig Van Beethoven.

Is loud music bad for guinea pigs?

Scientists have done several tests on many different animals, and even plants, to see how loud hard rock and any music that has heavy drums and the such affect them.I cant tell you I remember exactly how guinea pigs fared as I don't, however, most animals did not take to the loud music. What has stayed in my mind is the fact that it actually killed house plants. Loud music and people fighting affected the plants so much the died, not that is a very strong message.

Guinea pigs do however dearly love softer kinds of music. I had one guinea pig that loved 2 different songs and when they would come on she would go bonkers until I would pick her up and dance and sing the songs while holding her. She would actually vocalize to the music. As soon as the song was over she was back to her normal self, no more singing, and would be happy to be back in her cage. If music could affect a guinea pig that deeply in a positive way then it will also affect them in a negative way.

Guinea pigs have poor eyesight but very good hearing and depend on their hearing for protection, possibly the loud music scares them, if for no more reason then the vibrations in the room feels like something approaching their cage.
