How do you activate an "incorrect sim card" on an AT&T phone?
My friend loaned me her AT&T touchscreen Pantech cell phone until I get a new one (mine went through the washer :/ ) but I have a phone plan with Cincinnati Bell. The phone works an everything, but when you turn it on, a screen comes up that says "SIM Locked: An incorrect SIM is being used. Only emergency calls can be dialed." Then beneath it it has a button that says "unlock" and when i press it it says "You are about to SIM unlock your phone. Entering the unlock code incorrectly ten (10) times will result in permanent lock of your phone. Continue?" I touched "yes" and it brought me to a number pad. Does anybody know what I should do or what this means? And you have to be sure because I don't want to lock the phone forever, or damage my sim card. I'm afraid if I put in the number (which I don't even know what that is) it will wipe out all of my information on my sim. Please help!
