Do You Need An Alarm Clock To Get Up On Time

Why does my clock speed up time?

If this is a digital clock, it could be because of bad power on the outlet. Clocks that are battery powered have their own internal timekeeping circuit (which can sometimes be adjusted if it's fast), but clocks that plug into the wall get their time by dividing the voltage from the power company. In the US (and most other countries), it's either 60 or 50 Hertz (cycles per second), and it's very tightly controlled. So, all your clock has to do is read the power coming from the wall, divide it by 60 (or 50), and it will know the exact length of a second, and can figure out the rest of the time from there.

If your household power is "dirty," like has a lot of noise on it in addition to the regular power signal, then the clock may be reading this noise as extra signals from the power company, so its time calculation is off. The bad power noise can be from a heavy appliance, like an air conditioner or the washer, or it could be from flourescent lights, or other sources. Your house power may be poorly grounded - good grounding can help protect against power line noise.

You can try getting a new clock, but it may not help if your power is noisy.

Should I use an alarm clock?

8-9 hours sleep is ideal.  So, how to achieve that?  Definitely use an alarm clock which gives a sense of security that you will wake up on time.  In addition, program your brain with your own words at bedtime.  Tell yourself out loud that you will wake up at 6:25  (if that's the right time for you).Look at your habits, what might have changed since the days you could sleep longer hours?  Have you taken up a form of caffeine such as coffee, tea, or cola?  Chocolate?  If so, reserve these things for before 6:00 PM.  Also look at your sugar consumption.  Sugar can cause your body to produce too much of the hormone cortisol which can hamper sleep.  There could be other changes that have been added, such as a drug.  Speaking of these things that change body chemistry, you can also take a form of calcium at bedtime, such as a half a glass of mildly warm milk.  Half a banana can also help. Also consider your state of mind.  Have you become anxious about something?  See if you can resolve that.  Some people are helped by prayer or meditation. If none of these suggestions help, you might want to see a doctor who specializes in sleep.Good luck and sweet dreams!

Do you need an alarm clock to wake up?

Yes, we need alarm clock to wake up, as without alarm clocks we feel stressed of being late for our scheduled time. Be on time with modern smart alarm clocks to have successive professional careers.

The Mind: Why is it that some people never need an alarm clock irrespective of the time they want to wake up?

It’s sunlight combined with their internal clock as well as an authentic desire to wake up on time. Some people are lighter sleepers and that allows them to stay aware enough of their internal clock and the amount of sunlight coming in the windows to successfully shake themselves from sleep at a time they deemed important, even if they aren’t actually aware at the time what it was that was important.I never needed an alarm clock, and neither did my dad. However, if I have dark curtains that doesn’t allow sunlight in, I can oversleep, but never by a lot, my internal clock will take over and wake me.However, if I drank the night before or took sleeping pills, forget all of this. I need an alarm clock. However, I would never do this the night before something important I need to wake up for.Sometimes, though, I will wake up at a certain time with a feeling of urgency, but I can’t remember why I needed to wake up until a cup of coffee :)

How come I never need an alarm to wake up at specific times? This is creepy, really.?

Ok, so I've noticed something really strange about myself. I don't need an alarm to wake up for something in the morning. I always automatically wake up like an hour before, which gives me time to get ready. For example, lets say I read my work schedule on Friday night and notice that I work Saturday at 10am. What happens is I'll wake up at 9am on that Saturday. Or lets say I volunteer or go to school 8am on Monday. Well that Monday morning, I'll wake up at 7am. It's so weird how I automatically wake up at the right time, every morning when I have to go somewhere or do something, no matter how different the times are each day. Why is this? I can't figure it out. This has been happening for so long!

Do you use an alarm clock to wake up?

yea

Which do you use to wake up? An alarm clock or your phone?

Both. At the same time if it's super important to get my butt up that day. I find that I tend to get used to one or the other after a little time. Then I start to tune it out. Have to keep things mixed up.

Is it true that if you need an alarm clock to wake up, you aren’t getting enough sleep?

In my opinion, most probably, yes. If you wake up with an alarm clock, it means that you “forced” your body to wale up. If there was no alarm clock, your body would have waked up “naturally” because it was finished sleeping and/or because your circadian clock finds it is time to wake up.If you go to bed early enough to allow yourself to wake up without an alarmclock, you are most likely getting enough sleep.

Can you wake up without an alarm clock?

I can't. I have an alarm clock set to wake me up at 4:05am, 5:00am, 5:45am, and 6:30am. My roommate use to HATE that but now my fiance hates it! I have this set for every day! My classes (on weekdays) start at 9:00am but it takes me about 2 hours to get ready, that's why I get up at 6:30. On weekends, I live to try to wake up the same time as any other day.
It drives my fiance crazy but owell. He tries to throw my alarm clock out of the window lol
Anyways, if it wasn't for that alarm clock I would wake up around 2 or 3 in the evening EVERY DAY!
