Do You Need To Pray Before Fasting On Ramadan

Ramadan: Fasting won't count if you don't pray?

I'm a Muslim. I do pray everyday but I was just wondering, will your fast count in Ramadan if you don't pray? Could you drop down a quote and explain abit? About why if won't count? Thank you. 10 points.

Can i fast for Ramadan without praying?

I think you should try learn it online. Or, perhaps, visit a msoque and learn from someone there?

Also, it's not your fault you don't know how to pray. Allah can see your intentions and he can see that you're good-willed. He can see your thirst for Islamic knowledge and, sooner or later, you'll be the one teaching others to read the Qu'ran and pray. :)

And I'm getting pissed off because everyone is saying there's no point in fasting if you don't pray. Fasting is an act in itself and it's not affected by your praying or not. If you pray, you have a bigger reward in store for you. But Allah isn't going to let all your hard work, hunger and thirst go into nothing. He's fair and just. And praying does not separate you from non-Muslims. If you have believe Allah as the one and only deity and Muhammad as his messenger, you're a Muslim.

Ramadan: Fasting and prayer question?

بسم اللہ
In The Name Of اللہ GOD

Salam/Greetings brother

Fast starts from azan/call to fajr (morning prayer) and finishes with the azan of magrib (sunset)

Best Time for pryaer
1-
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) said, "Our Lord, the Blessed, the Superior, comes every night down on the nearest Heaven to us when the last third of the night remains, saying: "Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?"
(Bukhari, Book 2, Volume 21, Hadith 246)

It is before fajr azaan, and if you offer at least 2 raka of pryaer then it is called tahajud prayer. that time is very very good time to ask something from Allah

2- time is while you are travelling
4- Time between Call to prayer/azaan and Aqama (2nd short call to prayer)
5- in firday there is a time in which Allah accepts prayer/Dua. But it is not specifically mentioned which time (whole friday)

@edit
Sorry forget last Question

Yes and No :)

I'll explain it in my words (sorry for bad translation) and here is the mixture of hadiths / sayings of Prophet (SAW)

Allah accepts prayer unless person looses hope. thats why Allah said that only disbelievers are those who are hopeless from his blessings. Loosing hope is a sin.

and also Allah always accepts our prayers but there are three ways of acceptance

1- persons get what he asked for

2- Allah removes something bad, which will suppose to happen in futre, from that person e.g Allah saves him from an accident etc (in this case person don't realize and may be he can think his prayer was not accepted but its wrong)

3- Allah stores his prayers for the day of judgment.
when that person will see his reward for those prayers which were not accepted in wordly life he wishes that his/her all prayers never be accepted (B.coz Allah give so much reward)

but there is a person whose prayers Allah never accepts
Prophet (SAW) said that a person said O my Lord, O my lord and he has full sings of travel (head to toe filled with dirt, tired etc) but Allah never listens to him, because his cloths, his drinks, his foods all things are from haram/unlawful money

واللہ اعلم بالثواب
peace be upon you

I need help for Ramadan prayer and fasting schedual?

You have pretty simple but important questions;
Fasting starts at Dawn and ends at dusk, what is dawn; as per Wikipeda dawn is the time at which the sun is 18 degrees below the horizon in the morning "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dawn ", most of the masjids have Ramadan time table, if you can't find for your city you can get it from islamicfinder "http://www.islamicfinder.org/"
You are allowed to eat after sunset till dawn, one can eat anytime all through the night, it is recommended to stop eating couple of minutes before dawn (Fajr)
Wadu is important part of prayer, and rinsing mouth with water is important part of wadu, your intention should be that you are performing wadu (not trying to tast water, or drink it).
A lot of "ulimah" don't recommend brushing teeth with toothpast since you can tast the past that why its recommended not to brush with tooth past when you are fasting, if you finish eating couple of minuts before Fajr then you will have enough time to brush.
Using mouth wash is not recommended at all during fasting, since most of the mouth wash uses alcohol for oral hygiene (Antiseptic) use mouthwash before you start fasting and rinse mouth with water.
Jazakallah

Do I need to have a shower before I fast during the ramadan month?

You should take regular showers for good personal hygiene. Cleanliness is very important in Islam. You may need to perform ghusl if you're in a state of impurity due to period, intercourse, etc. This link will tell you more about it

What are some tips/advice for those fasting in Ramadan?

My biggest advice:Drink a lot in the morning - I don't miss the food as much as I miss the water. So the biggest thing I have found is to drink a lot and eat food that has a lot of juice in it (oranges, apples, etc) in the morning.Try to stay busy or sleeping - while you are busy or sleeping, you are not thinking about eating or drinking.Don't try dieting -  I see a lot of questions about dieting or just starting working out during Ramadan, I highly recommend against doing this. If you are really into dieting, you are already taking in less calories (assuming you don't gorge pre-fajr or iftar), so dieting is a non-issue, just make sure you are getting enough nutrients. And starting working out is a definite no, if you are working out correctly you will sweat, and sweating will make fasting harder, if not impossible (dehydration). So please, if you do not know what you are doing do not try this!Don't gorge at iftar - you will be in pain, and you will look uncivilized.Read Qur'an - We constantly focus on the physical aspects of Ramadan, but that is only half of it. The not eating is supposed to help you grow closer to your deen and be able to empathize better. So this is the ideal time to take Allah(SWT) instruction better.Do Better! - It doesn't have to be anything big like achieving world peace; maybe you are not praying all each salat, maybe you haven't made dua' in a while. Ramadan is the time to do better so at least try, Allah (SWT) promises that every effort and intention (for good) will be rewarded, so you have nothing to loose and everything to gain.

What tips do you have for someone fasting Ramadan for the first time?

I merely relate my stratagems. My principal aim is getting through my daily academic and athletic agenda on top of my internship. To keep performance levels stable, I adapt my regular dietary schedule throughout the year to Ramadan.Breakfast and dinner with family.Throughout the day no other intake apart from still mineral water.Come Ramadan, fasting boils down to a slight tweaking of the time for my meals. This strategy may be implemented a few weeks prior to the beginning of the holy month.Additionally, I consume creatine and whey supplements during Ramadan. They ensure, that my body is capable of performing regularly during my training sessions. As the weeks pass on, the corporeal strength is bound to be diminshed owing to the ascetic dietary schedule. The supplements bridge this slight dip in performance and reduce the risk of injuries.A quaint device of great help is power-napping.In the early morning hours, I don’t go back to sleep once I’m up.Breakfast plus a milk-shake enriched with Guarana powder, a fifteen-minute repose sitting. And I’m good to go.From the third week on, when the first strains make themselves noticeable, I power-nap in the afternoon.Fifteen minutes with closed eyes while sitting and I’m fresh enough to conquer the world on the treadmill. For ladies, certain regularly recurring physiological circumstances necessitate a pause.During this exemption I go on with my fasting procedure and schedule. However, my intake occurs one minute before the fixed time, so that I remain compliant with religious precepts.Continuing with the fasting schedule ensures that I have a smoother transition to the resumption of Ramadan. My approach was adapted to my individual needs over many years.A novice would be well-advised to consider keeping a diary during Ramadan.Document your levels of performance, what you eat, how you feel and so on.This way, you can easily identify not so optimal courses of action to be eliminated going forward. Also, whatever works can be discerned easily, then.Build upon the factors amenable to your personal strategies to keep on gushing forth performance during Ramadan.

What can you eat while fasting and praying?

During fast we have to refrain from every kind of food and drink for specific hours, from sunrise till sunsetNot only food but also from misuse of organs specially tongue - eyes and earsThe perpose of fasting is to create mindset of person that God is watching him , this awareness will be Helpful for him to build His Consciousness, thus to refrain from evil things and sins

I have a hard time fasting during Ramadan, do you have any tips to help me?

Gratitude and Dua, Dear SadiaIt is commendable that you admitted to having a “Hard Time” when fastingIf you are an adult, (past your puberty) then fasting is obligatory for youWe are not allowed to “not fast” unless seriously ill or traveling in hard areasDeliberately ignoring Ramzan fasting cannot be made up. For an able bodies person, the penalty if fasting for TWO straight months without break in return for ONE day of missed fastingSo, we do agree that fast you “have to!”How to make it easy. Well, I would not advise golf or swimming on regular basisEat a nutritious sahri with milk and good protein and fruits. Dates are known to keep one filled for hours so, take 3–4 dates at sahriRest after shari. Pray Faj’r and then recite Quran. Go to sleep if you are off from school. If school is in session then go to schoolKeep “Low Key” in school. No running around, yelling, laughing too much, fighting etc. Take your lessons and return home as soon as school is outPray Zuh’r and go to sleep. Wake up for As’r around 5 pm and this is the time to exercise, if you must. Exercise for no more than 30 minutes. Shower, Freshen up and help in kitchen. Ask for your favorite food in Iftar. Allah Loves kids who enjoy what HE Has ordered us to enjoyDo not drink too much sugary drinks in Iftar. Eat dates, yoghurt, fruit and fresh juice. Pray Taraweeh at your local mosque if they have arrangement for girls. If not, then pray it at home with your mother or cousins or other family members. It is a fun ibadah, you will seeI hope this helps, Happy RamzanPeace!

What are some tips for fasting in Ramadan during the school year?

As a medical student, I spent most of my time studying, and most of my exams are during Ramadan too and here is my advice,The right time to study:Studying is similar to anything that needs concentration you need to choose the right timing when the brain is ready to receive information so in the month of Ramadan you can start studying and memorizing 2 hours or maybe more after you had your Iftar, meaning after the Isha and Taraweeh prayers, then you can start studying for a period ranging between 3 to 4 hours continuously. After that you can take a rest and sleep until sahur time comes, preform the Fajr prayers then immediately start studying 2 or 3 hours before you go to school/college.The proper way to break your fasting:The key is to make sure you eat in moderation. Indeed, smaller amounts more frequently can be more comfortable all round. It’s also important to break your fast with dates and water, water is very important, and should ideally be the main fluid you use to replenish your thirst during Ramadan. And dates is also very important because Iftar should always start with a source of simple sugar to compensate for energy lost during the long fasting hours and nothing beats dates for that, let alone its enormous benifets for your health its a Sunnah of the Prophet PBUH and inshallah you will be rewarded for doing so.Suhoor meal :Suhoor is one of the most important meals to eat during Ramadan to keep your energy levels up during the day. Do not skip this meal, as it will provide you with nutrients that fuel your body. It will also decrease hunger pangs, headache and sleepiness. Try to eat high-fibre foods and complex carbohydrates, such as grains and legumes, high-fibre cereal with semi-skimmed milk, fresh and dried fruit, including bananas and dates, whole wheat breads, with a little jam, cheese or labneh. Your body takes longer to break down and absorb these foods, so they will fuel you better during your hours of fasting.Always remember while studying that educating yourself is also an important part of religion, We should consider this month as an opportunity. We should perform as many acts of worship as we can, and when you have this intention that you are studying to educate yourself and make a difference then you will be rewarded for that inshallah.
