Plays songs while showing the cover of the albums picture Goes on Safari and you can google anything and do things like refreshing the page and has a keyboard that you touch You can download apps using wifi which is like 29.99 just call comcast or something(I HIGHLY SUGGEST WIFI!!!) Some apps are free, but you can only have 11 pages of apps you can turn it sideways to view landscape mode( only in some apps but the keyboard is easier that way(some games require it to be turned) Tap the + button in Safari to add the current page as an app you can download movies songs and apps directly from the ipod using wifi and the itunes app you can check your mail by tapping the mail button(when you first get it, it asks what kind you have:gmail, yahoo,aol, other) Watch movies by tapping the movie app and tapping the movie you want It uses tilt technology by sensing which way you tilt it to change pic on the screen( you can move people in games by tilting it, view landscape mode It stores contacts for you You can edit the way the ipod looks in settings it zooms if you go to settings>general>acsessability>zoom then read the screen play games(obviously) you can go to the app store and preview and app before you get it or buy it it has a calculator and you can turn it sideways to get more keys it has a calander which you can set dates an alarm clock you can set to a time and choose the ring a timer a stopwatch with lap acessability and so much more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!You should defanetly get on eits so worth the money i tell you to take my word!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can't use an iPod over 3G.To expand on this hastily written answer: As Michael covered, you can't use apps that require a network connection unless you're on WiFi. For some people that may not be a problem, but for me it would be--I can only routinely access WiFi while at home. Without the data connection on my iPhone, I wouldn't be able to use these apps at all:Awful/Tapatalk - Forum browsing apps (Awful is specific to the Something Awful forums)Quora App Store - Can't update apps or buy new ones with no connection! Not a huge deal, perhaps.MailMapsSafari/Atomic WebFacebookTweetbot/TwitterNetflixAmazonTWC/WeatherDropboxA few others that may work offline but are certainly more limited, and a few others that aren't as mainstream as those that I use. Without data, I'd have an expensive, nice looking game playing device. Unless your "super cheap" phone can replace them (and you'd need a data connection to do so, and at that point why not just get the iPhone?), there isn't much comparison.
