Do You Still Think It Was Progress When 250 Million Chinese Abandoned Villages To Work In American

Do you know any villages in America that have adopted 1,000 orphans, like this one in China?

This is a very heartwarming story about Sancha! What a wonderful place to be . . . giving kids a renewed chance at life. I hope many other villages in China are encouraged by the story and photo essay and move to do the same.

Different cultures vary. Since you are from Los Angeles, I'm sure that you are aware that "villages" or "towns" in the US don't adopt children. Families do. Here are some statistics for you:

"There are 1.5 million adopted children in the United States, over 2% of all U.S. children."

"The total number of adoptions each year has not been comprehensively compiled since 1992. While there are reporting mechanisms for foster care and international adoptions, states are not legally required to record the number of private, domestic adoptions. In 1992, the National Center for State Courts gathered adoption totals from a variety of sources, and estimated that 126,951 children were adopted through international, foster care, private agency, independent and step-parent adoptions. NCSC estimated that stepparent adoptions accounted for 42% of all adoptions and foster care adoptions 15%. "

"Between 1971 and 2001, U.S. citizens adopted 265,677 children from other countries."

"China and Russia have Replaced South Korea as the Primary Countries from Which U.S. Citizens Adopt. Though U.S. citizens adopted children from 106 different countries in 2001, nearly three-quarters of all children came from only five sending countries."

"Internationally Adopted Girls Predominate

"One reason internationally adopted girls far out-number boys is that children from China now constitute more than one-quarter of the children adopted internationally by U.S. citizens and most of these Chinese children are girls."

The issue at hand is that for children who lose parents due to either economic reasons or due to death, that adoption provides a new home. Adoption should be encouraged and celebrated! Hooray for all the families and villages reaching out and choosing to love a child!

The story I'm going to tell could be mind blowing , but the sense I want to make isDemocracy (one person one vote direct election) is under test in Chinese soil, in poor villages , and it gives miserable results. What happens in those agriculture villages is, a big family, with most family members, always win. That's the reality in Chinese rural areas. People with same surnames are near or far relatives, sometimes there are only 4 surnames in a village , like the village my father is from. In such criteria, those minorities are screwed up, while the ‘elected’ village administration get corrupted and take whatever money from central government as their own. Look, this level of corruption has nothing to do with CCP, it's a result of society features. Why don't the CCP punish the corrupted officials ? It does, but another guy in the same family get elected next term. That's not a democracy the poorest people want.In China , people, especially poor population, they care more about if there's food, education, medical care.Westerners think they know Chinese people better because they just defined what is good for all human beings: Universal Value.WHAT A JOKE!Didn't you also say you value the diversity of different value systems?Let me tell you another truth, some of the educated Chinese, rich Chinese especially, don't want CCP rule. In CCP system, even the richest guy Jack Ma can't change policy of the village where he lives. If suddenly the government decided Maybach is not allowed on road, he has to change a car ( this is an awful example but hope you get the idea). You can see how fantastic democracy will be to the rich, he can easily send his relatives to become a lawyer and then get ‘elected’ , then bend whatever law in his favor etc etc.And above is why the people still put trust in CCP, it's better than a rich guy or a guy funded by the rich that take power. Come to China and see it yourself. There are many resons for overthrowing CCP, in people's mind, just none of them are strong enough today.

They did. You just didn’t read about it.Japan had been besieging Nanking for months. There were many Chinese civilians and soldiers trapped there. Eventually the Chinese troops ran out of ammunition and Japan’s Army broke through the defenses and captured the city. The Japanese Army leaders ordered their troops to do whatever they wanted as pay back for the Chinese defender’s decision to fight rather than to surrender. When Japan attacked Singapore. The city was also crowded with troops, refugees and civilians. The Japanese had cut off all supply to the island city, including water. It was almost impossible to escape. The Japanese even sunk two big warships, the battleship HMS Prince of Wales and the battlecruiser HMS Repulse, that the British were using to defend the area. Faced with this The British general Percival surrendered the city because he was worried the Japanese Army would turn Singapore into a 2nd Nanking massacre. The Japanese General Yamashita promised that the civilians would not be ill-treated or massacred; he lied. After the British surrendered, the Japanese rounded up 200,000 Singapore civilians, men, women and children. They tied them up in groups and pushed them into the sea from boats, and shot them. The Japaneses did this to get rid of the evidence. Anyone that the Japanese suspected might be a threat to them were rounded up and killed. This included a large number of educated Singaporeans. One of the my Grand Uncles nearly met this fate. Thankfully, he did not trust the Japanese and escaped.http://battleofmanila.org/Wai_Ke...In Indonesia, the Japanese Army also went out and slaughtered villages and communities to assert their authority.Historians in the West often talk about the “Death Railroad” where tens of thousands of Allied prisoners of war were worked to death. But there were also thousands of Asian civilians who were forced to work there too, and died, their bodies lying in unmarked graves in the jungle. The massacre at Nanking gets a lot of mention because it was well documented. There were other such incidents as well.Contest to kill 100 people using a sword - Wikipedia

Does Thai people historically and genetically same with the chinese or Indian?

Since the start of Siam, your old men and your government never tell you about the real history. In fact there was no Siam but people exist in the Khmer empire, after the invasion of Mongol in China some chinese in the south who run from the war made immigration to Khmer empire and welcomed warmly by the emperor, but the mix of these people (the old and the new comer) betrayed the emperor to perform a new country called Siam and proclaimed independent a round 1238 AD and continue to conquer to the south.

***Ice cube...

The word Cambodia is just a very new word that used by American-English call Khmer during the Indochina war. The word Cambodia derived from Kampuchea it means faithful race.

The word Khmer = Khom+ me or mer (Khommer) me or mer mean leader) in Khmer speaking sound the two words you can hear only one word so Khom and mer become Khmer.

The words Khom and Kam just same sound in Khmer language
(Khompuchea = Kampuchea= faithful race)
(Khommer=Khmer=kmer = leader)

you have lighter skin because you're half blood of Chinese the real Thai and real Khmer have darker skin

you have culture nearly same as India because during the Khmer empire the emperor govern the country by the Indian style, you see most of the pemple in Thailand and Cambodia dedicated to Hindu god (Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu....)
only few temples dedecated to Buddha.

How many chinese died building the railroads?

Patriot Self Defense system is successful for 2 main factors. The first is that it make use of easy actions integrated from all the most effective fighting designs available. The 2nd is that the manufacturers of this program didn't stop there, they took these actions right into the lab and ran all sorts of scientific tests to accumulate as much information as feasible before setting to work to examine this information and created a scientific developed self-defense system that fairly truthfully changes the sector.

Dou you think armenian genocide is real or an armenian lie?

of course, unfortunately,it is a big and discreditable armenian lie,but this accusation is not for all armenian people.because it became a way of earning money of armenian diaspora.this diaspora provoke innocent armenian people and want them to donate for its genocide purposefully activities.it is really sad to see an organization like armenian diaspora in 21st century.even this diaspora once established a terrorist group called asala to kill turkish diplomats as they established tashnak and hincak to kill innocent turkish muslim ciitizens.using armenian people as a toy by imperialistic countries was started in 1915 by russia.because russia wanted to destroy ottoman control in the Caucaus and the balkans.the only way to achieve this was to make begin a mutiny by minorities and unfortinately armenian minority who lived together with their muslim neighbors was chosen for this terrible purpose.russian goverment provoked armenian people and leaded terrorist groups like tashnak and hincak which were planned to destroy muslim villages and kill innocent people.then ottoman goverment wanted to move a lot of armenian communities to syria to stop this chaos(it would be so silly to move muslim communities because ottomans are muslims).and most of the 300,000 armenian people died because of the terrible conditions of way and some attacks of small turkish groups.and the big lie starts here there were only 200,000-300,000 armenian people in anatolia according to original ottoman articles.but armenian lie says that they killed 1 million armenian people(even some crazy says 2 milllion!!).ok if we accept the idea there were 1 million armenians then why armenian diaspora and historians couldnt prove this by armenian historical articles and they avoid from arguing this with turkish historians.yes unfortunately big lie is realized easily here.i say unfortunately because armenian people really need to work to improve their poor country-armenia,not work to prove a lie-that really doesnt work.and my last words:unesco wanted to put censorship to a historical turkish exhibition in paris, because there were original ottoman articles who can openly deduce this lie and second armenian diaspora wanted to ban a tv program which was wanted to be shown on an american tv channel, and this program's purpose was to meet armenian and turkish historians!!

As of 2013 both the World Bank and the International Monetary  Fund classified China as a developing country. In that year, China's per capita  income of about $6,500, and almost 250 million Chinese, about one-sixth of  the population, still live on less than two dollars a day.  So which countries are "Developed"? According to the International Monetary Fund the Advanced (or Developed Nations are):United StatesJapanAustraiaBelgiumCyprusEstoniaFinlandFranceGermanyGreeceIrelandItalyLuxembourgMaltaNetherlandsPortugalSlovak RepublicSloveniaSpainCanadaFranceGermanyItalyJapanUKAustraliaCzech RepublicDenmarkHong Kong IcelandIsraelSouth KoreaLatviaNew ZealandNorwaySan MarinoSingaporeSwedenSwitzerlandTaiwan (ROC)How are they defined? One such criterion is income per capita; countries with high gross domestic product (GDP) per capita would thus be described as developed countries. Another economic criterion is industrialization; countries in which the tertiary and quaternary sectors of industry dominate would thus be described as developed. More recently another measure, the Human Development Index (HDI), which combines an economic measure, national income, with other measures, indices for life expectancy and education has become prominent. This criterion would define developed countries as those with a very high (HDI) rating. However there is no exact formula. So lets use GDP per capita (with purchasing power parity, which adjust for living costs). The poorest nation considered developed is:According to IMF in 2013, the "poorest" of "advanced (developed) nations was Greece at US$25,126/yearChina was at $US11,868/year, still poorer than the Dominican Republic, Thailand, Brazil, Iran, Mexico, Lebanon, Turkey, Columbia, etc.China's economy has slowed and is growing at about 7.5% last year (likely less).Assuming all things stay equal it will take China until around 2025-2030 to catch Greece. on Income Per Capita...(someone please correct my estimate with more solid calculations).

What have been the effects of the one child policy in china?

The one child policy only relates to how a family is treated on the welfare system in china... people who are more well of can have more kids if they choose, but they wont receive any welfare payments... since many people in rural china are extremely poor, they are the ones who tend to stick to the one child policy. I think that it destroys the tissue of what family is about, since there are so many 'only-child' families. Family is about siblings in my opinion. Nobody wishes to feel alone when their parents are gone and the love and support and comradeship of siblings throughout life makes life more precious. But at the end of the day, something had to be done about the uncontrolled population explosions that started to take place in china earlier in the last century. The world has already reached it's carrying capacity, yet the population is still on the increase... don't be surprised if you see a similar policy being rolled out in other densely populated countries of the world within the next 20 years.

Yes. Once upon a time, American public schools rigorously taught civics, history, consumer math, current events, and critical thinking skills. American education has been in the toilet for the past fifty years. The average DJT voter doesn’t think it’s important to ‘know stuff’ and act on that knowledge. If they did, and had been given the intellectual skills, they would understand the importance and seriousness of voting, how the government is supposed to work in this country, and would have an understanding of when ‘dirty politics’ has gone too far. They’d know why the Citizens United decision was a disaster for democracy. If they knew history, they might understand why DJT is a disgrace to the office formerly held by George Washington and other truly great men; remember the Cold War and why Putin is not our friend; and what the rise of fascism looks like. They would remember that before Roe, many religious organizations petitioned the SCOTUS for the reform of our abortion laws. They would understand how case law works and why the SCOTUS has refused to revisit the case, and why single-issue voting is ineffective. If the average DJT voter had a solid grasp of consumer math, they might understand the vagaries of the market, predatory lending practices, and precisely how and by whom they've been screwed over the last forty years. If they had critical thinking skills, they’d know that insults aren't public policy, how to identify lies, and how to identify clickbait disinformation. We wouldn’t have been treated to “Pizza parlor-gate,” featuring a gun-totin’ self-investigator who thought it likely that Hillary Clinton might, in fact, be running a child sex prostitution business out of the basement of a Washington DC restaurant, and was prepared to deliver vigilante justice on the spot.In short, our electoral process is being held hostage by people who don't know anything and can't read; who are more interested in being entertained and having their prejudices and ‘gut feelings’ verified by a shyster than making hard decisions about governance based on facts and reality. God help us.
