Is it good to have a hot water bath after a workout for building muscles?
It has barely any effect on your muscle growth. But cold water showers have been proven to burn calories (not a significant amount though).Hot water baths are relaxing or comforting whereas cold water baths are refreshing. If you are on a heavy weight training routine, a hot water bath would be quite beneficial as it reduces muscle soreness, improves blood circulation and induces a sense of comfort or ease that helps in getting a good sleep.Another major reason is that, after a workout your body temperature is usually quite high and having a cold water shower shocks or stuns your muscles. Having a hot water shower prevents this stun effect. Sudden drop of body temperature may cause fever or any other form of weakness.Overall, after a weight training routine, having a hot water shower would be better than a cold water shower.Hope this helpsCheers!
Is breathing in air from a hair dryer bad for you?
In addition to the silliness of wasting electricity, and risking a fire in your hair and surrounding fabrics (assuming you also sleep with either clothing or sheets)... hopefully you have a smoke detector in your home to tell those that might live with you that you have managed to immolate yourself, and they need to at least call the morgue. Your scalp will eventually produce enough moisture to prevent damage and weathering of your scalp, and then it won't. You will prematurely age your hair and its follicles. Your "good feelings", "good health", and "youthful looks" are entirely the product of your mind. The hair dryer does nothing but give your mind an excuse to produce these effects. Try humming to yourself and imagine the hair dryer, instead. Because a hairdryer won't work the same way for everyone / anyone else.
Is it okay for a 14 year old to take sleeping pills?
Let's just say I've forgotten how to sleep. I'm restless until the rise of dawn, when I've got school in two hours. It's the one thing I have on my side, so I can't put that into jeopardy. So I was wondering if there's any sort of "age limit" for sleeping pills. If not, that's okay. I don't really give a damn, but I'd like to know. Also, out of curiosity; is it possible to develop Depression around my age? That's not to say that I think I have it; I'm just elated! :)

Is it really bad for your body to take a bath when you haven't had much sleep?
I do not have a regular sleeping schedule. After school and dinner, I sleep at around 8pm then I wake up at 11pm and I start doing geek stuff. I find it easier to study during these hours. I sleep back at around 4am-5am. And I wake up back at around 7am.. My question is, is it really bad for your body to take a bath when you haven't had much sleep? Lots of people tell me so, but I don't really see why.
Terrible sore throat, painfull cough, earache, stuffy nose, and having trouble breathing. Please Help!?
Wow! Don't overdose on cold and flu medicine, first of all. Second, go to the ER if it is that bad. If not, just try to sleep (I know it's tough), and go to the Doc early tomorrow. If nothing is helping, there isn't much else you can do besides wait it out.
Does soaking in a hot bath help you lose water weight?
Yes. In many sports, such as wrestling, the athletes need to cut weight quickly. Water weight is one way of doing it very quickly. The body sweats, losing water weight whenever an uncomfortable temperature is reached. The skin can absorb moisture as well to rehydrate. This rehydration does not take place under hot water as the body is purging extra moisture to disapate heat and will not re-absorb significant amounts of water. I used to alternate between hot tub and pool when I was working on body recomposition while training for soccer. It worked quite well. Keep in mind that cold exposure following water weight loss will trigger the body into absorbing water through the skin again. Don't take a cold shower or bath after a hot soak if your goal is to cut water weight. Another benefit of extreme heat exposure is increased stamina. The blood vessels are forced to expand to help regulate body temperature, and in response over time, the body will increase total blood volume in the body. This adds a little bit of weight, but increases the capacity of the body to carry oxygen and nutrients as more blood is available to do so. I've heard reports of increases in stamina of up to 30% simply from heat exposure training. I did no real physical training for soccer, but still had some of the best stamina on the team. Short answer, test you can cut water weight through hot baths, as long as you're still sweating and don't allow yourself to be drenched in cool water. Drinking water will rehydrate you as well. It's temporary. Good luck.
Can you really overdose on magnesium by taking an epsom salt bath everyday?
Many nutrients can absorb through the skin, mostly your water soluable vitamins like B vitamins and vitamin C - but vit C would most likely be destroyed by the heat of the bath water if it was hot enough, along with the vitamin B-1. If magnesium did absorb, and you got too much you will be tired all the time with difficulty waking up and have loose stools. So just adjust your baths, if you get too sleepy, skip them for a while, or use less epsom salts, it sounds like a great idea, except I have no hot water! I chased a guy at the quarry that stole my purse once, in my bathing suit! I had scratches all over me from the weeds and brambles in the woods, I took a bath in epsom salts, and the scratches were healed within an hour.
