Your favorite baseball teams all time team using only one Hall of Fame position player and one HOF pitcher?
I love those old Twins, like Tony O (would've been a sure HOF if not for his knees?)...I loved the Kirby/"Hrbe" teams as well...Too bad, you couldn't get Rod Carew there, but I guess you had to choose btwn him and Puckett, given the one HOF'er rule... Since I'm a lifetime Phillies fan, here goes (since I've been following anyway): C- Bob Boone 1B - Dick Allen (almost snuck in Pete Rose here) 2B - Chase Utley (apologies to Manny Trillo and Juan Samuel) SS - Larry Bowa 3B - Michael Jack Schmidt (HOF) LF - Lonnie Smith (a personal fave who started here, and was actually the leadoff hitter on 3, and almost 4 World Series winners) CF - Gary Maddox RF - Bake McBride LINEUP: Smith - Utley - Schmidt - Allen - McBride - Maddox - Boone - Bowa - Carlton (no DH) Reserves: Cookie Rojas (IF), Greg Gross/Del Unser (OF) and one more? Tomas Perez Rotation LHP Steve Carlton (HOF) RHP Curt Schilling RHP Jim Bunning LHP Randy Wolf (a little weak) RHP Rick Wise (not great either, but...he once threw a no-hitter and hit 2 HRs in same game, and we traded him for "Lefty" BullPen Tug McGraw (the late, great) Mitch Williams (keep things exciting) Gene Garber (liked the swivel delivery)
Will Bobby Abreu make the Hall of Fame?
Besides the stats listed below, he also has 565 doubles and 1,441 runs scored. Also, he wants to play again next season.. Help with stats.......thank you.?
1. A Statistics class contains 15 men and 20 women a random delegation of 8 people from the class will be formed to contact the department chair regarding the severity of the final exam. Of interest is the random variable X=the number of women on the delegation. is this hyper geometric distribution? 2. A Roulette wheel contains 18 black slots out of 38. A gambler bets on black each time the wheel spun. The gambler will bet until he loses . He is interested in X= the # of times he will play until the 1st loss. is this question binomial, geometric, hyper geometic, Poisson, or pascal? thanks a lot.
Why is Ichiro Suzuki never discussed as one of the MLB's greatest hitters?
I’m not sure what planet you’re living on, Ichiro is recognized as one of the greatest hitters of our time. He’s a dead cert to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires. He holds the record for most hits in a season (262), most consecutive seasons with 200 hits (10), and most career infield hits (675 and counting). He won Rookie of the Year and AL MVP in 2001 along the Silver Slugger and the first of his eleven consecutive Gold Gloves. He reached 1000 hits in faster than any AL Player (696 games) and behind only Chuck Klein’s 683 since 1900. He is also the second fastest player to reach 2000 hits (1402 games) behind only George Sisler’s 1390.Had he played his entire career here he would certainly have passed Pete Rose as the all time hits leader as well. Most today are enamored with power hitters, but Ichiro is absolutely among the best of all time.
You have to pick an MLB dream team, who would you pick?
