I think I have mono. Help?
I was looking up information for Mono after my dad said I might have it. I have all but two of the symptoms. High fever and sore throat. Although if I poke my throat on the outside, right behind my pulse spot on my left side, it really hurts. I can't stand for longer than 5 minutes without feeling like i'm going to puke. Is it possible to die from this also? And I am always really tired, but wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep. I also keep overheating, although before this I was always really cold. And my hands can be freezing but the rest of me will be sweating. Do you think I have Mono?

It sounds like it could also be the flu, but I'm not a doctor so I don't know. It lasts a long time (anywhere from two weeks to a month on average), and you'll be out of school for at least that amount of time.
Do you think my boyfriend and I both have mono?
Im not asking for a diagnosis but does it sound like mono? He got sick. Then i got sick a few weeks later and now we both dont feel as sick anymore but we both feel extremely weak and tired and our bodies ache. When we were sick we had most of the symptoms of mono but idk if this is what mono is supposed to be like? The only mono stories ive heard is people being unable to get out of bed but ive been going to school and working still. So idk. We also both have ONLY our left lymph node in our neck swollen. Not the right.

hey okay so i have all the symptons for mono-- swollen glands, extremly sore throat, a loss of appetite, and little energy... so basically im almost 100% sure i have mono, i will get my offical blood test on friday though... anyways, with all these symtons i also get these really bad mood swings... or im just like really emotional cuz like if one tiny thing doesnt go my way i start to cry but like i cant control it, it just happens...is that normal?
Guy I know has mono. Do you think he cheated on his girlfriend?
There's this girl who works at the same company as me and we're pretty close. Her boyfriend works for the same company as us but I don't particularly like the guy. I think he's a smug, arrogant jerk who treats his girlfriend like she's an annoyance. Anyway, the past few weeks she's been telling me about how they've been having relationship issues. Just recently she informed me that her boyfriend has mono. I asked her if he caught it from her and she said there's no way because they haven't been in close contact for over a month. I know there are other ways besides kissing someone for a person to catch mono, but I personally think he cheated on her. What do you all think? Did he cheat on her or is he one of the rare cases of someone who caught it through a cough or sneeze?
How do u catch mono?
It can be. Years ago it was called the kissing disease. This meant that you can easily contract this disease if you kiss someone who has it. I think it was a scare tactic to prevent girls from kissing to readily. However it is that easy to catch mono, particularly if you kiss passionately. So if you are in that situation please be careful as mono can put you down for around 6 weeks.

What are the chances he could have mono?
This guy I've been going out with said he had some kind of bug about four weeks ago Then a day or two later from then he said he felt pretty much recovered. Then a few days later he said he felt like it was either coming back or he was overworked. Then another few days later from then until a week or so he was talking about having low energy and felt tired but was still working every day. He mentioned he was trying to put 5 gallons of work in a 3 gallon container and was caught by surprise when it slingshotted back at him. How would you take this? On day he also said he drank green tea with caffeine and couldn't sleep then the next day he said he wasn't as tired as he expected to be. Will mono still cause fatigue if you have caffeine or not necessarily? Do you think he has or had mono? And can you get mono from just being run down or do you only get it through saliva? He's 31 if that makes a difference

When I had influenza, the worst of it was only a week in length. There’s no hard and fast answer to which is worse; both can be of relatively mild severity or very unpleasant indeed.Influenza, particularly for the very old or very young, is far more likely to be deadly. Mono, generally, does not kill; the exception is a very rare situation in which the spleen ruptures.As a final note, influenza can be treated with Tamiflu, but only immediately after the onset of symptoms. I know of no treatment for mono but time, hydration and avoidance of contact sports (see spleen rupture above).
