What is the weather like in South Africa?

My next mission's trip will be this July in Kayamida, South Africa for about 2 1/2 weeks. I would like to know what type of clothes I should be wearing when I am there. What do I need to pack? How cold does it get in South Africa during the winter season?

Do you think kevin peterson should go back to South Africa to play cricket as England has banned him for life and he has no future in England?

Actually, players like him should not be allowed to step in the cricket field. He is the same fellow who along with some other team members urinated on the cricket pitch. These people are bad specimen of mankind and there is no sportsmanship. I do not want our kids to have role models like him.Forget about how good a player he is, he is never a sportsman for me. He should be banned all over the world.

Do you think african americans in the south benefited from reconstruction?why?

I think this is something you should explore yourself. I'm linking a page below that will allow you to read about the Nadir of Race Relations in the United States. This is the period that followed Reconstruction and lasted until the Civil Rights Movement. You should be able to answer this question after reading about the Nadir.

Should South Africa have a white president?

South Africa is a black majority African country so excluding the race factor since we are now a multiracial democratic society, what South Africa really needs is a good well educated competent President who can represent the majority of all South African people and lead us forward as a country as well as resolve the many problems that we’re faced with. Crime, corruption, unemployment, large scale inequality ect.Whether it’s a black or white person in office is irrelevant although since South Africa is a black majority ruled country the President will more than likely always be black African person.

Should I go and study in South Africa next year?

I am no expert on the matter but I can offer you my opinion. If you can comment and tell me where you are from I can also give you an answer tailored specifically to you. I live in Botswana which is to the north of SA. I hear a lot about the situation with xenophobia and see updates in the news about the matter. From what I gather one of the factors driving this hatred is the fact that there are people living in low income situations, poverty, or facing unemployment and feel as though foreigners are a the root of the problem. Because in the opinion of this mindset foreigners are taking job opportunities and starting businesses that could instead be for locals. Thus when some find themselves in a bad situation and see people from other countries succeeding, this hatred comes about. Although in my opinion not all foreigners might be hated equal, since there are some nations neighboring SA that have high rates of migration to SA in search of opportunities in one of Africa's most prosperous nations. People from these countries which have a higher presence and are more noticeable in the population would probably be more at risk of encountering xenophobia.A lot of people I went to high school with here in Botswana are now at universities all around SA, including CT and I haven't heard any complain about xenophobia as of yet. Since the biggest issues held by the xenophobic mindset are job/businesses opportunities and also immigrants committing crime. I think a law abiding student is not a likely target of hate. Cape Town is an amazing place though and the people I know that are at university there really do like it.

Do black South Africans want white South Africans to leave the country?

Yes. Many do. There is a growing and disconcerting number of Black South Africans who believe that a nationalist point of view means  their country belongs to "them". They believe in paying injustice with justice. An eye for an eye. A tooth for a tooth. Mercy for no one. However, I have noticed that there is a new age of "conservatism" that is sweeping many countries across the world. Disillusioned people are very easy to manipulate and work into frenzies. Not to make excuses for the German, but the psyche of the common German after the first world war is what made it very easy for Hitler's regime to become widespread and indoctrinated in Germany at the time. They were very disillusioned. I've seen it today with Greek friends, French friends, and now with my South African friends as well. There is a rise of conservatism in Europe that has outrightly racist, islamophobic, anti-Roma, anti-immigration views etc. It brands itself "nationalism", and it feeds off of fears, disappointments and disillusionment. In South Africa now, there is a compounding of disillusionment with the economic progress of the country, the leadership of the country, the distribution of power in the country. A lot of the hope that was There in the struggle has turned into disappointment. There is also fear spread widely about immigration into the country. The country is ripe for racist propaganda being fronted as "nationalist agenda". So unfortunately, yes. Many South Africans want whites to leave. And these ideas are propagated even further by leaders who constantly ingrained them in the people. Leaders who are preying on the psyche of disillusioned South Africans. South African history is very complicated. I don't think I will ever be able to understand the nuances of it all. I live in South Africa right now, and I understand a little better due to immersion. However, even when I make observations, I am unable to visualise what a viable solution would be. Similar to how it's incomprehensible to try and solve the Israel-Palestine conflict. I sadly don't know what the possible solution would be.
