I was disappointed at first because I would have loved to see them fight. However, I realized how anticipated this fight would be and Kishimoto would be the stupidest man in the world to upset his whole fanbase. I believe that after the war, Sasuke and Naruto will fight, but Sasuke will end up realizing the sins he has caused and he will somehow purposfully lose the fight. Kind of like how Itachi did to him. That's my theory at least. My dream quote from Sasuke at the end of their battle, "Naruto... you truly will be a great Hokage someday. I just regret not being there to see it." *smiles* *dies* How perfect would that be?

Sasuke is going to fight against Madara, but I don't think he's good again. I think he wants to fight because he doesn't want Itachi sacrificed for go to waste. Sasuke never said he wants to return to the Leaf and/or settle things with Naruto, Sakura and Kakashi. Sasuke is currently an International Criminal and even if he settle things with everyone in the Leaf, he would still need to settle things with the rest of the Great Ninja Nations. If Sasuke still wants to crush the Leaf, he wouldn't dare say that in front of Hashirama and risk fighting him. Sasuke isn't dumb. There is the light side and a dark side and Sasuke appears to be somewhere between the two.

Well before we say who won the fight let see how the fight wentFirst when the fight started sasuke was fighting to kill naruto while naruto ess fighting to beat some sense into sasuke.Second naruto had numerous chance to hit sasuke with a fatal blow (like when he wanted to blow sasuke with biju bomb but hesitated) that why sasuke said (if you fight like that you'll die).Thirdly sasuke combined the chakra of 8 tail beasts and half of kurama and still he was not able to put naruto who was holding back down even with is most powerful attack.Fourth reason was that sasuke stole naruto’s last chakra and formed chidori imbued with ameterasu while naruto formed a regular rasengan and it was still a draw and sasuke admitted defeat.Fifth reason is that naruto have been fight since the beginning of the war he fought itachi and nagato, third raikage, tailbeasts jinchuriki, madara and obito before sasuke got to the war and sasuke only fought kabuto but itachi did most of the work so naruto been fighting for over 2 days straight which means he was tryed plus holding back because he did not t want to kill is best friend so that if naruto was fighting with intent to kill sasuke won't stand a chance sorry sasuke fans but it reality

As of the latest Naruto manga chapter (chapter 540), Naruto and Sasuke are still alive and have not even battled each other. As a matter of fact, we still haven't seen Sasuke in awhile. As for your second question, yes, it does seem contradictory. However, Naruto now feels that he has to kill Sasuke (and die with him) in order to save him as a true friend.
