How do liberals/progressives and Democrats propose to deal with the terrorism problem, as opposed to Trump’s solution?
What is a terrorism problem? Let me elaborate, making the point that if everything is terrorism, nothing is terrorism.Terrorism is a tactic/operational doctrine, not an ideology or a strategy.Most professionals define terrorism as attacks, usually by a non-state actor, on civilians, with the intention of producing a political result. Just killing a group because you don’t like them, but without a political objective, can be a hate crime or even genocide, but not terrorism. State terrorism is a different area. Mutual Assured Destruction is yet another doctrine.As I’ve said, terrorism is not an ideology, although too many people try to equate it to extreme Islamic groups. Some of his complaints involve the interactions of the US with Saudi Arabia and Israel, as well as the Saudis with other Islamic states.At first, bin Laden’s focus was not on the west, but on what he considered insufficiently Islamic states such as Saudi Arabia; Zawahiri had a similar concern with Egypt.
