Do You Think Online Gambling Is Ethical Why Or Why Not

Can a casino actually send me to jail for not paying back gambling debt?

I asked this question recently and I don't think any of you understood. All I did was use the credit that the casino gave me. I gambled away $232,000 then they gave me $200,000 in credit and I lost it all!!! Now I have absolutely nothing and owe the goons 200k, can the casino take over my house? So these scum call me and ask me to pay back their loan of 200k and i said to go F themselves. So I now get this letter in the mail from the DA of Clark County saying that they'll let me go if I pay the casino the full 200,000 plus a 20,000 fine to their bad checks unit. They threatened to charge me with 5 counts of FELONY theft by check but I told them that I'm broke, the casino drained me dry but they won't lower the dollar amount or let me make monthly payments!! Someone tell me what other debt can land you in jail for not paying?? Even the IRS allows monthly payments. My wife thinks that I only lost $1,500 in vegas and she was really pissed off, she will for sure divorce when she finds out the truth which will get the house to sell, could the casino tap in to the house and would the gambling debt be split between me and my wife?

I am currently in california, thanks. I did NOT write any bad checks!!

Is it ethical to run a casino or is it unethical???

ethical

How do people that work in gambling overcome ethical aspects of such work?

To begin with, there are many gamblers who gamble without it destroying their lives, and those are in the majority.  I've been to Vegas several times and take a couple of hundred dollars for the Blackjack table, and, once I lose it, I quit.  There is only a small percentage of people who get addicted to gambling to the point that they lose everything and it ruins their lives. For that small subset of gamblers who do go overboard, I am sure that the people who work in gambling use the same rationalization techniques as people who manufacture alcohol, work at drug companies, or  work in the food industry.  Many people drink alcohol; only a small subset become alcoholics to the point that it ruins their life.  Many people take and have taken prescription drugs; only a small subset abuse painkillers to the point that it destroys their life.  We all eat multiple times a day; only a small subset eat so much that they reach the point where they can't even get out of bed.  People who work at or own casinos and such know that there is a subset of customers that may ruin their lives because the casino exists, but it's not the people who work in gambling's fault that the person does not know when to quit or becomes addicted to the high of gambling-just as it is not the candy bar manufacturer's fault that someone could not limit the amount of candy bars they ate and now weigh 600 pounds.

Is it illegal for a person under 18 to order things online?

Minors obviously can't have credit/credit cards, but if a person under 18 has his or her own money in a checking account, can he or she legally make online purchases using a debit card?

(Don't laugh, I'm not taking Economics until next year.)

Can I receive a prize in online gambling as an international student?

Hello, I'm an international student from South Korea and I currently have F-1 visa. I've been in America since 2011 and I'm old enough to play online gambling.
So this is what happened to me. I was betting money on Draftkings and I won the prize. When I tried to withdraw the money, they required me to complete W-9 form to pay the tax. However, I do not have social security number so I couldn't fill it up. I sent an email to Draftkings and what they are telling me is that since I'm not a legal resident of the United States, I'm not eligible for any cash-prize winnings on the site. I just don't understand this part. I believe there are way more international student using Draftkings and I believe I'm a legal resident of the United States. Can you give me any specific advice? I do not want to lose my prize...
Thank you

Is it true that online casino games are rigged?

Online gaming sites are businesses. Their ultimate goal is to make a profit while engaging their customers so they come back and invest more time and money in the game. Allowing their customer to enjoy the game requires the players feel safe and protected. Laws and regulations have been put in place to ensure the games are run ethically and legally.Because the goal is to make a profit and because not every player can win every game, suspicions have been brought to light that the games are rigged. Some of the more popular theories for proof include the number of bad beats, the idea that wins are structured to keep people playing longer [if lesser-quality players win a few games, the idea is they'll stay around longer in hopes of winning again], and hands are dealt in such a way to increase the size of the pots to entice players and to bring a larger yield to the casino. While the accusation is that games are set up in a way that the player never wins, the truth is the casino must have an advantage or they will go out of business. A house edge, however, does not indicate a game is rigged. In addition to the randomness programmed into the game, there can also be streaks of bad luck that will affect individual players. Even when the hands don't feel random, this is no indication of a rigged game.Historically, there have been instances of rigged games. In January 2013, Reel Deal and Hi/Lo Gambler were found to be running coin flip games that were not offering a fair deal to players. Despite advertising a 100% payout to players (which indicates no advantage or cut for the casino). As it turns out, the payout was only 96%.http://gctrh.com

Is working for a casino to earn a living and choosing not to gamble due to ethical beliefs a double standard?

Why does it matter what other people do? As long as that person doesn’t go against their own morality by gambling, there’s nothing wrong with working at a casino.Having a problem with other people gambling in that scenario is like a devout religious person having a problem with someone else for their faith of choice. Who cares? As long as someone is not hurting themselves or others with their faith or activity of choice, it’s really none of your (meaning anyone’s) business.Moderation in all things.

Is playing poker for money and ethical way to make money?

If you play, yes. If you cheat, no!

Why do some people consider gambling as morally bad?

One reason is that is is potentially destructive. Gambling addiction is a real and serious thing, and more than a few people have ruined their lives and their families through gambling. Even people who gamble on occasion can get caught up in it and lose money they can't afford to lose. Because gambling is so profitable, casinos and other professional betting establishments have developed impressive techniques to condition people to want to keep betting and betting, which means they'll keep losing, sometimes until they've lost everything. While many people can bet on occasion without it becoming a real problem, it's innately dangerous. On a more philosophical level, gambling is based on a desire to get something for nothing, by taking it from someone else. If you win at gambling, you've acquired money without work, without contributing anything of value to society. Thus, gambling is bad either way. If you win, you've taken money that you didn't earn from someone who might need it. If you lose, you've lost money and gotten nothing in return. Either way, it can hardly be considered virtuous.
