Why has Katy Perry never won a Grammy Award even though she is nominated annually?

To date, Katy Perry has been nominated for 11 Grammy Awards. Of the 11 nominations, only one of them was remotely winnable. Each year, she went against towering favorites like Adele, Beyonce, Lorde and Lady Gaga. Here's a chart comparing her songs against the eventual winners. As you can see, the four singers mentioned above were the winners in nine of Katy Perry's categories.The only year I thought might stand an outside chance was in the 2011 in the Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals category. Greedy music industry put unnecessary high expectations on him. He may not have been able to repeat Thriller's success but he was still the top selling artist for two decades. Even at his worst he sold what others sell at their best. In general, he is deserviningly the most awarded artist of all times. Also, he holds 39 world records. Also, what is less known is that he was literally crowned a king Sanii in Ivory Coast in 1992.
