Do You Think That Beauty Is All Perception

Perception of Beauty: Relative or Absolute?

perception is subjective,
however there are aesthetic features most people would agree on being beautiful,
and arts employ these objective common perceptions / formulas.

the other thing is that we naturally find images of ourselves ugly or less beautiful than others may.

Philippines and the filipinos perception of beauty?

I am Filipino but I have my own "perception of beauty" - Beauty is in the eye of the beholder they say and I agree. Every single person has their own perception of beauty and it should be applied to all races. I am attracted to girls with confidence and nice personality NOT to their color.

I disagree that being white is equal to beautiful, I think it's more like being white is equal to being more attractive. In Philippines, being Mestiza or Tisay is not automatically looks prettier than Morenas, but in some cases they look more attractive than Morenas or... maybe it's just me.

Ironically speaking... you said you're not white at all, I believe in you but why did you choose that picture as your avatar? is it because you look more attractive in that picture than your other pictures showing your real skin color? or maybe it's just me again? :)

Just asking :)

What is your perception of beauty?

BEAUTY doesn't come from a bottle, can, or box.

ANYONE can apply makeup.

After you've taken a shower, got dressed, brushed your teeth, do your hair, & face, grabbed your shoes & purse. HOW you put yourself together, when you leave the house, is what beauty is all about. Shouldn't take more than 30 mins. to look presentable and looking nice. What comes out from inside of you, how you treat others, takes up the other half of beauty.

When I look outside my window, and I see the birds singing on my Japanese Cherry trees, and the squirrels on my porch burying their nuts for the winter, or hear my Bantam rooster crowing from afar. That's beauty! When I see children frolicking in the park, sliding down the slides, and chasing one another, that's beauty! When I hear my grand son smiling & giggling when I tickle him & wiggling his arms & feet. That's beauty!

What do you think is better: brains or beauty?

Being exquisitely beautiful.I know this is a little surprising. Because a smart answer would be choosing intelligence over beauty since one can undergo cosmetic surgery and become both. Anyways, take time to read my not so non-sense explanation. When you choose to become highly intelligent over beauty, this is what could happen to you over time:You will get a really nice paying job or start a business. You will easily get promoted. You will take more and more responsibility. You will have fewer time for adventures and fun because you don’t have much free-time.You will plan and plan for solutions, for new projects, preparing speeches, accepting interviews, etc.Etc. & etc. This is what could happen if you chose to become really good-looking instead:You can become a model. You can gain a lot of followers and make money advertising product brands. You can become a creative vlogger on youtube while having fun.Etc. and etc.But this is what i think is the best part.Think of your ultimate crush. Think of all the beautiful people. Imagine spending quality time with these people and having butterflies all over your stomach. I get that discipline and responsibility is key to achieve success and it feels really great to become successful but once it is there, it’s there and it will soon fade away.If you are not smart or intelligent, you tend to focus more on spending your time for fun and savoring life. You have more energy for that. Most people in this generation believe that those who aren’t rich/successful are losers. But they also forgot those who we call big shots have the curve on their smiles in opposite directions once the cameras are down or once the crowd is gone.Anyways, this is just my opinion. Don’t follow my advice. My real answer is really intelligence, i somehow just tried to think in a different perspective.

"people's perception of beauty has changed"....what does this mean?

Turn on the TV...

Flip through the channels, look at the women.
Slim, fake, made up, platinum blonde, enhancements here and there, can't even put together a sentence, etc....

We put a ridiculous amount of pressure on girls to fit into the perceived media stereotype of beauty, which is anything BUT beautiful.
