Do You Think That Mexico One Day Will Be Like The Us

Thinking of moving to Mexico?

Salaries are 1/10th or less of what they are in the U.s. a teacher makes about $400.00 a month. a registered nurse makes $100.00 a week....even professionals make very low salaries. Most workers make less tham $10.00 a day. You cannot work in Mexico without a work visa. you cannot get a work visa unless you find an employer to hire you and write a letter to immigration stating he cannot find a Mexican citizen to fill that job. Tyou must apply for an fm3 visa with work permit...lots of paper work, expense and time. You cannot just come to Mexico and find a job. Unless you are highly skilled in a techincal field of work that needs workers here, it is not at all practical. If you are retired with a pension, or wealthy...no problem...but working in Mexico is NOT a good option. Better to work in the states, save and retire to Mexico. The people are kind and friendly for the most part...they are human...so there are a few not as nice, just like anywhere.

Do you think America, Mexico and Canada will one day be one nation?

No, the politics of each nation is too different to allow it, Canada’s politics are way too liberal to what the U.S. Democrats have in mind. The politics of the United states has descended into tribalism making it less and less likely for bipartisanship to return, and Mexico is moving more to the left after having been in the center right for more than 90 years.you also have cultural and language barriers between the 3 nation, one speaks spanish, other speaks english, and the other makes it mandatory to learn and speak french and english. Neither of the 3 will sacrifice their own sovereignty for a greater political union, you’d need a great goal that they’d be will to unite under.

Do you think the US, Canada and Mexico will for form an EU type union?

This is not likely in the current political and financial state of these nations. Canada would have to feel very concerned about their economy and association with Britain and EU to enter into such an agreement with the U.S. and the situation with Mexico right now would not allow it because of the huge disparities between the two countries politically and economically.

What do you think about Mexico putting a tax on apples from the US?

I think it is a very interesting and intelligent move. These were actually proposed by the Secretary of Economy, Ildefonso Guajardo, who has always been involved in trade relationships between Mexico and the U.S. He is the head of the renegotiation of NAFTA and was behind the strategy of the deal itself.Having said that, this is not a random tariff. Apple picking season is just a month from now, and Mexican markets respond very quickly to any change in price (Mexico's sugar tax leads to fall in consumption for second year running ). This will hurt the U.S. economy immediately and in the long run because there is an affordable substitute, the yellow apple produced in Chihuahua Mexico that might get stronger within a year. These tariffs also respond to the long run strategy of using more of the trade deals that Mexico has with Europe, Latin América and Asia that has been a mayor theme during the last 6 years (Latin America widens trade relations in the time of Trump) because of the continuous rise of the price of the american dollar. It is good to sell to the U.S. but not to buy from the U.S.It was a necessary move from Mexico, not only to respond to the frank agression from the U.S. but also to gain support from other countries and strike better trading deals with them under the umbrella of the animosity towards the policy that the U.S. is enforcing.Being a Mexican, I like it. Its a gamble, yes, but it might bring a fall-back plan in case the U.S. keeps being stupid.Edit:This article in Bloomberg aboyt Mexico seeking new trade deals with Japan proves the reasoning I explained above. It also mentions the update to trade deals with Europe.Mexico Turns Trade Attention to Japan With Nafta Talks at Risk

What do you think about Mexican people?

About a month ago we were staying at LA Quinta in Tucson and our truck was stolen in the middle of the night. Flash forward - our truck was recovered across the border in Mexican Nogales. We were notified by Tucson police. My boyfriend and I speak very little Spanish but in order to get the truck back we had to find the Federal Police Station. Upon crossing the border we asked for directions but only one fellow seemed to know what we wanted. I should point out, his English was on par with our Spanish, he spoke very little English. He volunteered to ride with us and take us to where we needed to go. Once we arrived at the Federal Police Station we discovered that we needed a ton of paper work and had to go to yet another office and the tow yard to get our truck back.To make a long story short, the fellow spent 2 days helping us recover our truck. When we needed a better translator he enlisted a friend and the two of them took us to offices etc as needed. Once we had accomplished recovering our truck they hustled us to the border. They were afraid the truck would be spotted by the cartel that took it and we were all in danger. If you have never been to the border the danger of the cartel is very real. These two gentlemen took a personal risk in helping us. What do I think - Amazing! These guys were strangers to us. They took time, energy and personal risk. This kind of help goes beyond “friendliness”. I can't express how deeply these two guys affected me.For full disclosure; we live in Mexico full time. Our experience here has been nothing short of wonderful. Everyone we have met have been friendly, warm and generous.Update to this story: After we brought the truck back to Tucson we had the trucked checked out by a local mechanic. The truck was fine and the mechanic loved the truck. So we sold it to him. A few weeks later the truck was stolen out of the parking lot at the Tucson mall. The truck was recovered again less than a week later. Unluckiest truck? Or luckiest truck?

What do the people of Spain think of Mexico and Mexicans?

I'm a Spaniard. I've been to Mexico twice, and many colleagues of mine have been working in Mexico for a while.Fist of all, and referring to an answer above mine, getting back to the 16th century to explain what Spain currently thinks about Mexico is absurd. In Europe there were wars everyday and Spanish conquerors extracted gold in order to maintain the territories and a proper trade fleet with America. Gold btw, was not so appreciated by the Indians. So please don't get back again and again to that gold issue because every single country that has been a colony has been stripped of its wealth to some extent. The Romans did the same to Spain back 2000 years ago, and later it was the Germanic tribes, and later the Muslims. No one is talking about Italian ancestors nor Muslims plundering us.So, focusing on what we think about Mexicans. We see Mexico as one of the most developed countries in America, very wealthy and pretty politically stable. In fact many Spaniards prefer to work in Mexico, Panama, Chile and Argentina rather than any other country. Despite we are kind of aware of express-kidnapping and the gap between poor and rich class…that scares us a bit.We love studying the ancient American cultures and Chichén Itza is a MUST visit for everyone in Spain who can afford it.We also love Mexican food, guacamole, huitlacoche and tacosMexican people are seen as hard workers and pretty fluent in English as they are the most influenced by the States, which is a plus for getting a job in Spain.Very often people worldwide mix Spain with Mexico, we often see movies that said to be happening in Spain, and all the houses, hats, and way of dressing is purely Mexican. So let's say both cultures are perceived as very similar abroad. So in fact, we really like Mexico and we feel really sad when some Mexicans talk again and again about the gold issue and the times of the Conquest, because our ancestors could surely have done better, but come on! Just have a look at the country to your North…it was only made by British settlers, who did not mix with Indians. Saying Spain just wanted to plunder America is just false,…the 1st train line in the Spanish kingdom was built in Cuba, not even in Europe…It's better to look at the future not victimizing the past. And it seems that Mexican future will be very good because this country natural wealth is awesome, and in the last few years you've been doing good, but still need to work hard with safety issues and corruption.
