Do You Think That Overconfidence With Wild Animals/creatures Is A Dangerous Thing

What is the best thing about someone born under the cancer sign?

Positive Traits: kind, loving, emotional, intuitive, imaginative, shrewd, cautious, protective and sympathetic.

Negative Traits: changeable, moody, over-emotional, touchy, untidy, clinging, unable to "let go," and a tendency to wallow in self-pity.

Likes: hobbies, romance, children, parties, home and country.

Dislikes: failure, opposition, aggravating situations, being told what to do and being given advice...whether good or bad.

Natives of Cancer are probably most in tune with those governed by Pisces, since Pisces is prone to moods just like Cancer, but of a less volatile nature. This is a couple who will find peace and harmony throughout the majority of their relationship.

Scorpio, another Sign ruled by the element of Water, would also be favorable since Scorpio is equal to the moods of Cancer and capable of great understanding. Cancer finds the Scorpio depth of character intriguing and will certainly appreciate the rich view of life inherent in the Scorpio nature, to say nothing of the awareness and perception associated with that Sign. This is a couple who will likely provide everything either has ever wanted in a relationship. The physical chemistry here is quite amazing...it is long-lasting and only gets better with the passage of time.

What's Your Opinion Of Timothy Treadwell From Grizzly Man?

I think your analogy between Tim Treadwell and Chris Mccandless is a bit flawed. Clearly there are similarities. Both men lived there lives to the beat of a different drummer. They both found that they fit in better in nature than in the world of men. They both lived and died doing what they loved regardless of what the critics said.

However they differ in many important ways, while I believe Treadwell truly loved bears and wanted to help protect them and their habitat, however, he was a bit of a primadonna and sought attention for himself. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, it attracted attention to his cause, but it is very different from Mccandless. Mccandless was more of a visionary, and was on a soul searching journey to find himself and live a life in tune with nature. He was not motivated in the least by a drive for attention.

Treadwell was also more niave and blinded by over confidence than Mccandless. Obviously, Treadwell was knowledgeable about living safely among bears as he survived living with wild Grizzlies for 13 years but I think he began to forget that he was not a bear and just how dangerous they were. Mccandless on the other hand, while a bit niave to be sure, took calculated risks knowing the dangers full well, it was a part of the challenge. He was trying to live his life as far from the rampant materialism of society as possible. Many fault him for it but fail to realize that it was the point of his journey, to take as little as possible to survive.

Wile I think Treadwell merits respect for his passion he is not on the same level as Chris, who's legacy and set of lofty ideals give us a model on which to shape our lives, not so much to follow his actions to the letter, but to live lives more in tune with nature and less rooted in the material excesses of society

Is fear a good or bad thing?

Fear is a good thing, in general. It protects us - mostly from bad things, but admittedly sometimes from even the good. It's what kept us huddled in the light and warmth of the fire in ancient times, keeping away from the unknown dangers pacing in the darkness. It's the "what if" of everyday life that forces us to think and rethink our actions, especially important in this age of instant gratification. It sows empathy in reaction to another's suffering, because that could have been you. It can stifle, but it can spur. It's a part of many smart decisions for me, such as calling my Dad every day, ensuring my dogs are vaccinated, checking my tire pressure, or even cleaning the lint filter. Common sense, but worry of what I might regret lest I not do these is a large factor in my actions. In a way, it pulls me through and helps me to appreciate the good times, for fear of them ending, and even through some bad ones, if only to correct mistakes that caused them.
