Do You Think This Desk Is Good For Pc Gaming

Gaming desktop placement?

you dont want to put your pc directly on the floor. regardless of what type of flooring you have (tho carpet is the worst to do it on)
All you need is just something flat and hard to keep it propped off the ground.
Im using a few pieces of wood to keep it off my carpet.

You wouldnt want to have it hanging off your desk, as that would makle it easier to be knocked off. I dont think your pc would fair well from a drop off a desk (would likely destroy your hard drive and dvd drive, which are both VERY sensitive to impacts), and possibly other components.

if you think it cant possibly fall from where its at, then go for it.
If not, id suggest putting something on your floor and then putting it on top of that.

Are stand-up desks good for computer gaming?

This really depends on numerous factors, but suffice to say stand-up desks are not inherently superior or inferior to sit-down desks. Here are some things to consider:Pros:You'll be more alert while standingYour posture will be better (good for you in the long run)You'll make small movements that will add up over time (very minute but they add up over the long run)You're more likely to be active during passive sessions (between MOBA matches, MMO dungeons, afk mining in Eve, etc.)Cons:You will suffer from fatigue over time, which is more distracting than the gains in alertness, especially if you game for hours straightYou'll now have to consider either new seating solutions (so you remain at standing height) or a sit-stand desk instead (which is more expensive)You may have to readjust or get a desk specific to gaming to deal with standing ergonomics, as they tend to be less precise without adjustmentIf you're a casual gamer, your gaming doesn't require precision, and/or you don't game for hours on end you're very likely going to see more benefits from a standing desk. If you're more hardcore, precision-oriented, etc. you're probably going to want to have a sit-stand solution (because you'll still want that badass gaming chair) or get a standing desk with a decent drafting chair (cheaper, but... gaming chair). Also, don't forget insoles. They're cheap enough. You'll thank me later =D

Is it worth buying a gaming chair?

It really depends on your needs, do you speend a lot of time playing video games or do you work from home? If you do I’d say buying a gaming chair is worth it, as most of them will offer the comfort and the support you need, they are designed for gaming after all. With that being said, the next question is, do I buy a racing gaming chair or a standard office chair. Both of them offer good back support, comfortability and unique features, once again it depends on what you want.Let’s start by checking what kind of advantages gaming chairs brings us.Racing car design360 degree swivelReclining backrestHigh back rest areaErgonomic buildThere is a lot more advantages of getting a gaming chair, but those are the main ones. Now for Office Chairs, here are some advantages.Sophisticated lookWide range of material buildErgonomic buildHigh back rest, mid back restHigher maximum weightThere’s a lot of other thing to take into consideration as wellThe Price: Gaming chair have a smaller price range than office chair. Meaning you can find very cheap office chair and very expensive one.The comfort: Both of them offer great comfort, while one is better suited for gaming the other one is better for office work.Functions and Customization: Gaming chair offer a little bit more customization compare to office chairs. What are the 5 things gamers don't actually need for their gaming PC?

Terribly expensive and powerful graphics cards. I’m talking about GTX 1080 and similar. Unless people buying these play on 1440p or 4K, they’re overkill for current generation.Processors that have more than 4 threads. Most games that are avaliable today can fully utilize only 4 threads at best. This issue is slightly alleviated with new APIs such as DX12 and Vulkan, because these can actually fully utilize all threads (as far as I know, but it probably won’t utilize your AMD Opteron’s 24 cores, right), while the other (DX11 and lower, OpenGL?) can utilize only the thread number 0.All the neon and gaming stuff. Keyboards with backlight - okay, that’s good for doing all kinds of stuff if you don’t want to/you’re too lazy to turn on your lights. I own one, and I like it. GPU, CPU coolers, fans, cases, motherboards with backlights? No. You build a computer, not a Christmas tree for a mall.Gaming keyboards, mouses and other stuff. Most of it is overdesigned and overly expensive stuff, sometimes it comes with a sticker of a professional CS:GO/LoL/DOTA team I don’t, honestly, give a damn about. What I’d like more, are some basic consumer-grade mechanical keyboards. “Gaming” hardware is literally the same as regular, just with better heatsinks (which will help in games) or some design change.I own a backlighted “gaming” graphics card and I hardly notice the light is on.Fancy cases with windows. If I wanted to stare at my computer, I can just take off the side lid. My tables and cables won’t allow me to stare at my computer without plugging it out and pulling it from the table, anyway.Liquid cooling. Never get it unless you’re going to do some serious overclocking. And air is sufficient for total majority of the GPUs (minority being power hogs like Fury and GTX x80 cards).

Do you think achievements/trophies have ruined the gaming experience?

I'm in my mid twenties and have played video games since I got a Sega Genesis for Christmas at 7 years old and have loved playing them until the current generation, I've gotten to a point that I just want to play on PC and avoid consoles altogether due to achievements. Basically the games reward lack of creativity and force you down a linear path and if you don't do the certain action then you will miss the achievement and feel let down.

When I got 900/1000 gamerscore on a game and then people stop playing it online, I don't have the dlc, or the servers are shut down... I used to get kind of angry! It made me feel like I got to third base with a girl I like and then she moves away and I never see her again.

I wish there was an option to turn them off but all I can do is hide them from others which doesn't matter. I feel the need to impress *myself* if that makes any sense? I remember in Hitman 1+2 you were rewarded for playing creatively and in Hitman absolution you get gamerscore docked for it.

I think the concept of Gamerscore/Trophies has damaged what gaming was originally about (a fun escape from reality) and turned it into homework, what do you think?

Do you think the current RGB era ruining the PC gaming industry?

Naaah….It’s not ruining the industry or anything…. It improves the look in many ways…RGB is a huge trend in the gaming industry… They are starting to add RGB is everything now… First they started with the gaming peripherals like keyboard and mice, then to the CPU fans and it is now it is catching up mostly on all the components… Even PSUs are now coming with RGB fans and do not really know what’s their purpose…When RGB was introduced ,it actually had a purpose other than just to make the desk look cool… Some gaming keyboards lets you create game profiles using which you can light up only the keys which are needed for the game and the keys can be differentiated with colors too… Like blue for navigation and red for combat keys and lot of other things like this… In gaming mice, lights were added originally to indicate the DPI and then they upgraded that to single transition lights and then to RGB… So now RGB is just a thing which helps you to show off your build in a cooler way…It is like a fashion trend… Whatever component you pick, it has it’s RGB version… RGB motherboards, RAM sticks, AIO coolers, cases, GPUs… It’s sad that the CPU goes under the cooler, otherwise they would have tried to put RGB on that too :p ….It is good that PC enthusiasts care more about making their builds as slick as possible… But it is not a mandatory thing to pick up RGB components just to cope up with the trend… If you really need them, then it is ok to empty your wallet in getting the RGB components… otherwise, it’s just an overkill…If you’re a twitch live streamer or a YT’er who makes videos with PC build, then having an RGB build in front of the camera will be a visual feast for some viewers, else it is just an overkill….— it assistors
