Do You Think Throwing A Acorn At A Teacher Is Enough To Be Kicked Out Of School Is This Fair

What was it like to self-learn programming before Stack Overflow?

I don't think someone can learn programming with Stack Overflow. Stack Overflow is an awesome platform where you can seek to solve many of your daily programming problems, once you've acquired a fair enough hand on the particular language/ framework/ tool. There are certain aspects of learning programming, or more specifically, learning a programming language which includes the syntax, paradigm(functional, OOP, reactive etc), components(functions, classes etc), semantics like memory model, garbage collection, design patterns(like inheritance, dynamic dispatch) and then converge to libraries that perform utilities for you like data structures, string processing etc. You need consolidated text, documentation and examples in a fairly organised sequence to learn a language. In short Stack Overflow can help you solve things at a stage when you know what your problems are. When you start learning a thing, you don't have problems and you don't know what you would do with it, you just explore and understand it.Even today, books, blogs, video tutorials, documentations is what people refer to for learning something, not Stack Overflow. If you are trying to learn something by making successive queries to Stack Overflow about it, you are not learning it but trying to solve a problem using that language/ platform. In reality, the platform would have many more subtleties and nitty gritties.

What could a 20-year-old do to potentially improve their quality of life?

Take a 10-30 minutes walk every day. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Sleep for 7 hours. Live with the 3 E’s — Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy. Play more games. Read more books than you did the previous year. Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6. Dream more while you are awake. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants. Drink plenty of water. Smile and laugh more. Don’t waste your precious energy or time on gossip. Forget issues of the past. They’ll just ruin your present happiness. Don’t have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone, so don’t even try. Don’t take yourself so seriously. You don’t have to win every argument. Just agree to disagree. Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present. Don’t compare your life to others’. You have no idea what their journey is all about. Don’t compare your partner with others either. What other people think of you is none of your business. No one is in charge of your happiness except you. However good or bad a situation is, it will change. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up. Call your family often. Your inner most is always happy. So be happy. Each day give something good to others.

If you flip a coin three times, the possible outcomes are HHH, HHT, HTH, HTT, THH, THT, TTH, and TTT. What is the probability that at least two heads occur consecutively?

Let A be the event that at least two heads occur consecutively and S be the Sample Space[math]n(S)= 8[/math] [math]n(A) = 3[/math] ( HHH, HHT and THH)[math]P(A) = n(A)/n(S) = 3/8[/math]

What are some good pageant songs?

Hi there! As a singer, I always recommend musical theatre songs, especially for pageants, because I do those too. :o) My mom was Miss Texas 1978, Mrs. Texas 1988 and top 10 (#7!!!) for Miss America, and she picks ALL of my songs. You might consider these:

Candle on the Water - Pete's Dragon (I WON with this one!)
Climb Ev'ry Mountain - The Sound of Music
Colors of the Wind - Pocahontas (I sang this at my second pageant.)
Corner of the Sky - Pippin (My mom tried to get me to sing this because one of her other girls won with it.)
Falling in Love with Love - Boys from Syracuse
I Could Have Danced All Night - My Fair Lady
I Enjoy Being a Girl - Flower Drum Song
I've Got the Sun - Annie Get Your Gun
Life Upon the Wicked Stage - Show Boat
Reflection - Mulan (I sang this at my first pageant.)
Show Off - Drowsy Chaperone (Popular up-tempo.)
Think of Me - Phantom of the Opera (maybe...)
When I Look at You - Scarlet Pimpernel
With a Song in My Heart - Spring is Here
You'll Never Walk Alone - Carousel

If you're more of an opera gal (I'm both), I recommend "Nessun Dorma"--Kristen Blair, Miss Texas 2009 (such a sweetheart), won with it! Also, "O mio babbino caro" is a popular one. Faith Bates sang "Time to Say Goodbye" and it was beautiful. E-mail my me or my mom if you have any other questions. Best of luck!

EDIT: I just asked my mom for input. She suggests the old classics, and I listed some. Today girls always sing the overdone contemporary stuff and it's not impressive.
