Do You Treat Your Cat Like A Sibling

How can i treat ringworm in cats?

Unless they are covered in lesions, you can treat at home. You need an athlete's food cream, and an antifungal shampoo, and some bleach and a vacuum cleaner. Every three days, bathe everyone with the shampoo. This washes the spores off their fur. Twice a day, put a thin film of cream on the lesions. Daily, vacuum up all surfaces of the room (you are vacuuming up the ringworm spores). Wipe down all surfaces with a 10% bleach solution. You need to do a thorough job of vacuuming (and bleaching where you can) the rest of the house as well - the spores from the ringworm have been shed all over, and you risk re-contamination of the kittens. Ultimately it's the cat's immune system that kicks the ringworm, but killing the spores and treating the lesions really speeds things up. But expect the lesions to continue for a good 3-4 weeks :( If any of them really start to develop serious hair loss and get lots of lesions, they will need an oral medication from the vet. Let's hope not as those are expensive..... Ringworm is more of a nuisance thing than a health threat for most people and animals, so hang in there.

Cat between cat, will they get jealous of each other if you treat them equally?

Absolutely.Halo (left) was sitting on my chest up close to my face. Saint (right) didn't like it because that's his spot and that's his mommy. He got up and sat right on his sister, he's like 3 times her weight by the way. Finally she got up and moved to where she's seen in the photo. I secretly started petting both at the same time, I felt so bad. He noticed and didn't like it. So he got up and laid along my whole arm just so I'd stop petting her.He does petty stuff like this all the time.Just like when Halo’s daddy isn't paying her any attention. She'll come to me for love and she'll stare her daddy down with sad eyes while I'm cuddling her. Then she goes back to daddy to see if he's ready to cuddle, which of course he is. Halo knows her daddy gets jealous and she plays him like a violin. If Halo was a human I think I'd have some serious competition.

Do cats recognize their siblings and how does its behaviour to the sibling differ from the way it treats another cat?

When sibling cats are raised together and not separated, they definitely recognize each other. However, if those cats are separated for a period of time, then they do forget the other. In college, my then-boyfriend and I adopted a kitten, Chloe. One of our housemates thought that was awesome and went the next day to adopt one of her siblings, Loki. Chloe and Loki spent the next 3 months together, completely inseparable. Then, the housemate decided he didn’t want Loki anymore and another friend of ours took Loki at her apartment. Chloe definitely seemed lonely without her buddy, so we went and adopted another kitten for her to have as a friend, Sammy. It took a few days for them to warm up to one another, but they eventually became inseparable.Fast forward to when the cats are all about a year old, my boyfriend and I were in our own apartment, and Loki’s new owner brought him over for a playdate. Suffice it to say, Loki and Chloe did not remember each other and treated each other as mortal enemies. Sammy hid in the bathroom while Chloe and Loki had a standoff across the room from one another, hissing, backs raised, etc. My friend stayed for a couple of hours, and the situation between the former best buds did not improve.Even cats who are not siblings but have been raised together will forget each other after being separated. Sadly, my sweet Sammy died at around age 7, at which point, we adopted Spot. He and Chloe were together for about 5 years before we moved to Seattle. I flew out to Seattle for the move with Spot and our dog, and left Chloe with my husband, who followed us 2 weeks later (he stayed behind to oversee the move, I had to start my new job). When my husband arrived with Chloe, Spot was extremely aggressive to her, treating her like she was some unknown invader into his territory. He actually attacked her and left her cowering under the bed. This behavior went on for the next few months, even after we moved from our temporary apartment into a house. I felt so bad for my poor sweet old girl. When Chloe passed away about a year and a half later, we did not get another cat. Spot has been perfectly happy being the only cat in the house, and is now my old man kitty at age 14.

Do cats remember their siblings?

We did show them her body with the hope they might understand what had happened, they tried to groom her (as they all do to each other anyway) and that's where one in particular keeps smelling. They haven't gone looking for her and we are giving them both lots of extra fuss, I think I'm more upset than they are.

Cats becoming aggressive???

ok, im 38 weeks pregnant, and all of the sudden my oldest cat is attacking me, and really not listening, he use to be really good, never got on the table, and he taught our kitten to behave, like mothering or something, but as i near labour, he has gotten so crazy, like we got him neutered forever ago, so i dont think that would hit him now...and im afraid of having a baby, and him acting like this, i mean he literally jumps out from no where and bites onto me, and wont let go, whats wrong with him? my kitten started doing this shortly after, and im afraid ill have to get rid of them if they dotn stop, the water bottle method doesnt work, and the older cat keeps running into my room under my bed, or jumps in the babies bassinet, and i want it to stop, we keep the bedroom door closed, its just when im trying to put landry in there, he sneaks in, please any advice

What relation does my cat think I am to him?

According to various researchers and vets, cats see us as giant weird hairless cats. This is why they treat us the way they do. They have never seen us 'properly groom' like they do, so they lick us. They haven't seen us 'properly hunt' so they bring us gifts.
If you adopted your cat when they were young, they probably see you as their parent or sibling, but still their best friend. If you adopted them when they were an adult, then they probably think you are still their best friend, but probably not related.

How to get my cat to not like my sister but like me more.?

You need to be the one doing everything for the cat if you want him to like you more. You need to feed him, play with him, take him to the vet, groom him, clean his litter box, everything. If your sister is the one feeding him, of course he is going to like her. She is helping to take care of him and he associates a positive experience (being fed and eating) with her. If you are just sitting on the couch, why aren't you feeding him?

But honestly, you can't make the cat like you more. The best thing about cats is that they have their own personalities and make up their own minds about what they want to do. If your cat wants to hang out with your sister, he's going to do that. It doesn't necessarily mean he likes her more than you. But he does like her and he wants to spend time with her, just like he does with you.

Cats form their own little routines and don't mind including several different people. For example, one of my cats always lays right under my husband's chin whenever he is on his stomach on the floor. She never does that with me even if I lay in the same way because it's her thing with him. My other cat, meanwhile, only lets me pick him up and not my husband because he associates it with me. It's just a cat thing.

Just enjoy your cat and don't worry so much about your sister.
