Do You Use Fridge In Your Home Which Company

How to dispose of mini fridge?

1st you can call the trash company to see if can be picked up through your service, then I would call the recycle company to see if they accept them. where i live if you put it out at the street a scrap metal guy will come get the sucker before the trash company gets there!

Can I use a fridge instead of an AC?

In a vague sense, Yes you can.But first you have to keep in consideration the following -The power rating of Fridge is usually 1/10th of a typical AC. So the cooling capacity of Fridge could be much smaller say 1m x 1m cubical, or a very small cabin, rather than a room.Lets say, you opened freeze doors in a small cabin, then also it will heat up the cabin rather than cooling, you may wonder why!!!( If you don't know, any freeze or AC device does not creates cooling, it only transfers heat from one side to another, from room to outside house in case of AC, you may have observed hot air coming out of exterior part of AC ).In case of Fridge this heat sink portion is located on outside walls of the fridge or on back side in old models in the form or metal grids, you may check it, it will be hot when freeze is running. So from there heat is dissipated in the room. This heat consist of -  (heat taken from interior of freeze) + (heat energy generated from the electrical energy consumed by compressor). So, now you may have understood why your cabin will heat up if you keep the freeze doors open.  (It's because the first factor will have no effect on cooling, bcoz it is just transferring energy, while the other term will also be dissipated in your cabin which will ultimately heat it up.)So, what exactly you may do to make a small freeze AC -Make a literally small cabin or tent on bed, open the fridge door and make a air tight contact with cabin/tent and only the interior part of fridge, leaving the exterior of fridge facing to the room.In this way the heat taken from the tent will be dissipated to the whole room and your tent will be cooler. You may also add a fan in cooler part to evenly distribute cold air. But, also keep in mind, Fridge compressor is made to work for lower temperature, and it has different coolant than in AC, so making a fridge work at higher temperature, will increase the load on compressor (i.e. more than usual ).Its not a good idea in terms efficiency, as a fridge is optimized to work for low temp. Also, this new fridge AC will run continuously, as it is designed to stop at much lower temperature which will never be attained in this case.PS - I have never have implement this idea, but once, I imagined about the same question, figured this out.

Is my electric company ripping me off?

So I just moved into a new apartment, here are the details:

- 2 Bedroom/1 Bath
- ~1000 sq ft.
- Only electronics plugged in all month: Fridge, microwave, electric stove, electric water heater, electric A/C, washer/dryer, HDTV, DVD player, computer, iron, eletric shaver, eletric toothbrush.
- Run A/C 8 hours a day on average
- Water heater set at 140 degrees

My electric bills says I am at 900 kwh a month at 7.1 cents/kwh

I live alone and turn lights off and do my best to limit energy use, so why is my bill so high? I do not leave my computer running, I turn off the A/C when I am not sleeping, and rarely use the eletric stove.

I realize that I can buy a meter to measure the amount each eletronic uses, but I just want to know if 900 kwh a month sounds within reason given all the information I have provided?

Thanks in advance.

Can I use Arm & Hammer Fridge-n-Freezer baking soda SAFELY in cookies?

I am in the middle of baking and I just discovered that I bought the Arm & Hammer Fridge-n-Freezer baking soda instead of the regular baking one. I am home alone with a baby sleeping and I can't run out to buy a new one. It says on the box "While Fridge-n-Freezer contains pure Arm & Hammer Baking Soda, we do not recommend it for baking as the granulation is designed specifically for deodorizing." Does that mean it's not even safe to use in baking?

Electric company negligently turned off my power and ruined my new fridge? Aren't they accountable?

I bought a new fridge on Sept 12, 2009. On Oct 6, I left for a 3 week vacation. On Oct 8th, the power company negligently (without any reason) disconnected my power. I returned home on Oct 23rd to find a horrible stench in my home. My fridge was full of maggots, flies and 3 inches of rotten blood. I have cleaned if multiple times with multiple products, but it still wreaks!! I can't open it without gagging. The electric company has admitted all fault in this matter, but they will only give me $200 for my trouble. This seems like a ridiculous offer. My fridge is brand new and now unusable. Do I have any rights in this matter? BTW, I live in Texas.

Do you have any advice on having a commercial refrigerator in a residential kitchen?

I have a Traulsen two door freezer, and a True one door fridge in my house.   1.  They are noisier than normal home refrigerators, but I don't find them offensive.  I don't find them any noisier than my Kitchenaid Dishwasher or my food processor.  2.  They are bulky, but not horribly so.  I like the idea of having 23 cubic feet of fridge space that is almost completely rectangular instead of filled with weird shaped drawers, bumps at the bottom, and racks.  I make homemade cat food, and I can slip five boxes of Bell and Evans chicken into the True without effort.  It's impossible to put that amount of chicken in a residential fridge without breaking the shelves.3.  They probably do draw more electricity, but you're also chilling down a greater number of square feet than most residential units, and you're often chilling down to lower temps.  My freezer runs at 0 degrees F, instead of the usual 20 degrees in a residential freezer.4.   Everyone says that the new residential fridges last ten years if you're lucky.  I like the idea of owning a unit that has a heavy duty compressor and oversized cooling fins that can be easily serviced.    MY Traulsen is 6 years old, and has only had problems with the relay controlling the compressor.  I ordered a part off of Amazon, and replaced it myself.  I have more faith in these units to last than I do anything from the home market.5.  Not sure why people are saying that commercial units are hard to clean.  The fins are easily accessible for cleaning, and the insides are either aluminum or stainless which makes for easy wiping.  I did put cafeteria trays on the shelves to keep foods from leaking down through the unit.  Cheap, easy to clean, and each tray contains spills with their 1 inch lip. Finally, it is true that many of these companies will not warranty the unit in a home environment.  I don't have any easy answers for that.

How much electricity does an empty house use?

My fiance are hoping to be moving soon and will have our current house up for sale. If our house is empty and only has the oven and refrigerator inside, how much electricity would it be using? If we were to unplug the fridge and oven would our electric bill drop to almost $0? We're concerned with having to continue paying the mortgage and utilities for our current house once we move and need to start paying those bills too.
