Doctor Who Tattoo Help

Tattoos and doctors? help fast!?

I find it very strange your doctor is fine with you having an ear piercing but no other, after all there is no difference between other piercings other than healing time (and some heal much faster than ears too).

If you need antibiotics to go to the dentist you will need them to get a tattoo or a piercing, you will also need an artist well aware of your condition and willing to go ahead, I would suggest having one with first aid training too. You may have to sign a disclaimer saying that you will not sue if anything happens to you due to your condition also and it will be a good idea to alert your doctor and take someone with you to look after you in case you feel ill afterwards.

At the moment you are too young to have a tattoo, the age limit is 18. You will need to do a lot of research to find not only a good artist (as remember there are no official qualifications for a tattoo artist, anyone can set up regardless of how good they are) but one who is willing to tattoo you with such a condition but at least you have a few years in which to do this - good luck!

Doctor who tattoo....?

I really want to tattoo a TARDIS on my ankle! Maybe try extensive googling? You might be able to find a template on a tattoo website. Or try the Doctor Who Tattoo Gallery facebook page.

Edit- Teresa J- All I'm saying is that Doctor Who has been around since the 60's. And it doesn't matter what other people think about your tattoo as long as it means something to you.

Can doctor have tattoos?

I don't see why they can't have them where they wouldn't be seen. If they could be seen, I could see a bit of a fight over that with a lot of medical practices...but, think of it this way - they're usually in big coats. So you can't see 'em! Hide them well, and I don't see why anyone would dissapprove - you don't have to tell 'em ;)

what has that got to do with the treatment he/she has to give ?It is not an easy feat to get admitted in a medical college , pass the exams and be a registered medical practitioner .Persoanlly , I wont judge the doctor by his piercings or tattoos .Ill judge him by his qualifications and practice.

Doctor who quotes for a tattoo?

"Yeah I ignored you” - Lisa Loeb “If you are staring at this, i really like you. I leave out you and i need you dwelling. And i am praying for you that you do come dwelling alive.” - Keyanna Jackson “To a father developing historical nothing is dearer than a daughter.” - Euripides “A son is a son till he takes him a wife, a daughter is a daughter all of her lifestyles.” - Irish Sayings “Like father, like daughter. I am no longer amazed.” - Carol Maturo “My father gave me the greatest reward anybody could give an extra character, he believed in me.” - Jim Valvano “it is a smart father that knows his possess little one.” - William Shakespeare

Can doctors have tattoos?

I work in a hospital, as a psychologist, with a number of doctors that have tattoos. Majority of places are becoming more lenient about tattoos showing. Each facility will have their own policy.
My recommendation would be to get tattoos in places where you can elect to show them or not.
Mine are all on my back, so if I don't want people to see them they don't. But if I am out for the night and I want to wear tank so they can be seen, they are. A number of the male docs have arm tattoos. If they are going to something where they don't want them to be seen, they wear long sleeves.

I think the important thing is to think about what they mean and represent. All four of mine are obviously memorial tattoos. People don't get irked because it is obvious that they have meaning and were done with a good heart. If you get a swastika or obscene language, people will think that it looks incredibly unprofessional.

But regardless, it looks like you still have a few years before you can legally get one, so don't sweet it yet.

If I were a young person (15-40 years of age) living in a big metro city, I certainly wouldn't mind.  I would think it is cool.. I would think of you as a normal person.. A person who is approachable..If I were a person living in a small city or village, may be it wouldn't be so acceptable to me.. I would think of it as weird.. May be I wouldn't trust you..If I were of an older age group (parent of a teenage boy or girl), living in any place (I'm talking specifically India, I can't speak of other countries. Never been), I might be less acceptable of the tattoos.. I might think of it as a bad influence..But all this is just a general idea.. You never know who might think of it as cool! Or may be the coolest seeming people might not accept it.. The world never ceases to surprise us..In ancient times a lot many tribes, actually even urban people, had tattoos as culture, fashion, status symbol etc. So the idea of a tattoo is not very outlandish..So you see this is a very subjective issue..But, overall, it is not a bad idea at all for a doctor to get a tattoo done..

I'd think of some contagious diseases like HIV,  HBV, HCV infection first place. Very common on persons with tatoosAnd knowing this and doing tatoos anyway don't  makes any sense. Howevef all medical staff are quite well informed about this deadly diseases.

Can a doctor/surgeon have a tattoo?

Arnold, I assure you that you'll not find any rules against physicians/surgeons having tatoos in any state in the union. Here's the rub: I had hoops in both ears when I started surgical internship; no tats. The surgical attendings frowned upon this very much. Remember that the physicians and particularly Surgeons are a particularly conservative culture when the white coat is on. In surgery, we are taught that all the patient sees is the clean dressing on his wound and the starch pressed white coat that you wear when you round on him in the A.M. In this context, neither you nor I fit the mold of a medical professional wearing body jewelery or visible tatoos. I find it as antiquated as you do, but when you enter this very conservative profession, you'll find that standing out is not a quality that your colleagues admire when it comes to fashion. I really do urge you to reconsider getting tattoos which are visible if you are certain that you want to become a physician, even moreso a surgeon. Since my first week of internship, I no longer wear hoop earings and I am more easily accepted by my attendings and patients are more comfortable seeing me in a more conservative appearance.

Yes because a tattoo does not affect a person’s abilities in any shape or form. It would be like asking if someone can be a gardener if they wore lipstick. Lipstick has nothing to do with gardening just like tattoos have nothing to do with medicine. Now if you are a doctor who wants to make the most money possible, cover the tattoos. There are still many people who are small minded and believe tattoos are associated with lack of ability or professionalism. You cannot argue with stupid, just please them and take their money.
