Will the Dodgers vs Braves series last 5 games (2018)?

I highly doubt it.With game 1 already in the books, the Braves have not touched home plate yet. The Dodgers have touched it 6 times. Clayton Kershaw hasn’t even showed up yet.Game 2 will determine the series for the Dodgers, but not for the Braves. The odds are against the Braves at every corner right now. Game 5 would be a stretch at the moment.

NLCS games 3 & 4 at AT&T park had sections 335 and 336 set up as press boxes. Now I see 335 on sale on Stubhub for game 5. How did people get access to these seats?

At World Series game 2, it looked like both of those sections were for press only. Not sure about tickets sold to the general public...

Why are Dodger fans so horrible?

So I am an Angel's fan, and went to the game last night when the Dodgers were whipped by the Angels. I was wear an Angels hat and my 3 year old daughter was wearing a jersey. I went to Chavez Ravine for my first game ever there.

All I have to say, is I'll never go back. It's a zoo.. It's the former Raider Nation wanna be cholos stadium. I lost count how many times I was harassed or verbally assulted by some Dodger's fan. Not the friendly competitive stuff, but vulgar language and getting in my face while I was holding my 3 year old daughter. And to top it off, when I was leaving the stadium some thuggish ruggish wanna be called my 3 year old daughter a ***** because she was wearing an Angels jersey.

The Dodger's organziation is a storied one, rich with tradition. I hope the organization and security clamps down better on this. I sat in the better seats, so I didn't have much trouble during the game, but SEVERAL times during the game I witnessed scuffles in the left field seats.

I've worn Angel's jersey's in New York, and never was I harassed like this. Sure a few boos and friendly shots from fans, but no one got in my face and wanted to throw down.

Dodger Fans BOO

How many times in his career has Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw lost the deciding game of a playoff series?

You can get the answer to your question with two links at the irreplaceable website baseball-reference.com:First, here’s Kershaw’s career post-season game log so you can see his performance over the years:Postseason Pitching GamelogSecond, here’s a quick link to get to any and all post-season series, where you can cross reference the Dodger’s series with the appearances that Kershaw had.World Series Winners, Stats, and Results and Postseason Series.Year by Year:2016: he pitched (but did not get the W) in the NLCS elimination game 4 and then saved the deciding NLDS game on 1 day rest. Then he took the loss in deciding NLCS game.2015: he won an elimination game in NLDS game 4 but did not pitch in the decider.2014 he lost the NLDS decider, pitching on 3 days rest2013 he pitched in (but did not get the W) in the NLDS winning game (again on 3 days rest), then took the loss in the NLCS decider. In 2009 he pitched a couple of relief innings in the game 5 NLCS lossIn 2008 he did not pitch in either deciding game that LA participated in.So to summarize, in “deciders” he has taken 3 losses, gotten a save, pitched in a decider win but didn’t get the win stat, and had some relief appearances.Kershaw’s post-season ERA is (as others have noted) an ugly 4.55. What’s missing in that stat is the number of times he’s taken the ball on 3 days rest (or fewer), and the number of times he’s pitched well past 100 pitches/deep into games/facing the lineup a 4th time thanks to crummy past Dodger bullpens. There’s context to his numbers and one of the reasons we always warn about passing judgements on “short sample sizes.”

Can anyone explain the NLDS & NLCS games leading up to the MLB Championships?

National League Division Series
National League Championship Series

In baseball there are 2 leagues, American and National. The world series is played by the AL pennant winner and the NL pennant winner. Each league has 3 divisions, East, Central and West. 4 teams make the playoffs. The teams with the best Win-Loss record in the respective division and the "Wild Card". The wild card (WC) is the team that has the best record out of the ones that weren't division winners i.e. Best second place.

The teams that made the Playoffs in the league are numbered 1-4 depending on who has the best Win-Loss record, with the WC being 4. The #1 will play the #4 UNLESS the teams are in the same division. Then the #2 would play the #4.

For example:
The Phillies won the NL East with a 93-69 record
The Cardinals won the NL Central with a 91-71 record
The Dodgers won the NL West with a 95-67 record
The Rockies won the NL Wild Card with a 92-70 record

So they would be numbered:
Dodgers (1)
Phillies (2)
Cardinals (3)
Rockies (4)

Since the Rockies and Dodgers are in the same division The matchups would be:
Dodgers(1) vs Cardinals(3)
Phillies(2) vs Rockies(4)

These are the division series. These are best-of-5 series.

The winners would face off in the Championship Series which is best-of-7, as well as the WS. WS are played between the winners of the Championship Series

Phillies are in the Division Series.

Who gets home field advantage in the NLCS if the Cubs or Pirates get past St. Louis to face the Mets/Dodgers winner?

Is anybody aware of the criteria? If it's based on the better record, it would go to the Cubs or Pirates. But if it's based on seeding, it would be the Mets or Dodgers.

Has any MLB team every won every one of their playoff games?

Pre-1969, the only playoffs were the World Series. Teams that swept were:
- 1914 Boston Braves
- 1927, 1928, 1932, 1938, 1939, & 1950 New York Yankees
- 1954 New York Giants
- 1963 L.A. Dodgers
- 1966 Baltimore Orioles

During the single-round division playoff era (1969-93), the teams that swept both their league playoffs and the World Series were:
- 1976 Cincinnati Reds
- 1989 Oakland Athletics

Since the two-round division playoffs began in 1995, no team has managed to sweep their league playoffs and the World Series.
