Does Add Affect Future University Or Job Placement

How do engg backlogs affect placements?

It does effect the campus placements as mentioned by others, but if you are talented and hard working enough companies will always make an exception for you, i am telling this out of my personal experience.I my self had 2 back logs and a GPA of 4 or 5 when i finished my engg and none of the companies were even interested to look at my resume, but i researched and worked hard day and night and with in few months i thought my self few coding skills from couple of languages using google , which wasn’t even in our text books and did some basic software stuff that costed a fortune to small business owners if they bought from big players, same software i wrote it from my acquired knowledge(it wasn’t really the best software on planet, but Hey!it did what it supposed to do) , and i didn’t really need to go to a job but for financial security reasons, i applied for this job in Oracle i got called immediately, they were impressed by my resume(note: i still had that backlogs after 6months after finishing my last sem), i got called for interview and they loved everything about me, they didn care about my marks my backlogs(shortly after interview i cleared those backlogs) they just wanted me on board.the companies which does not care about the marks sheet and know that one piece of paper does not decide your future are going to call you for interview if your resume speaks loud about you skills and achievements in the tech industry .The achievement does not have to big , but it has to show that you are willing to learn anything in short time on your own and can apply it to something and make things work, sure everyone does not have this capability, but if you succeed doing so it adds a great value to your resume, if you do so then its sure that you will get picked when it comes down to a guy with 9 CGPA and no skills or talent or achievement and you with 5 CGPA with lot of skills to offer for the company which it can take advantage of.so it does not matter if you have backlog or year back or anything, get the rite industry skills (not necessarily comes from you text book) and apply it in real time do something out of the skill you learn, you will see the magic your self.

Will getting a KT in any semester affect me during placements?

I think I can understand your situation very well.I did my engineering from Mumbai university and failed in engineering drawing in second semester and scored decent in all other subjects.Fast forward to placements , I sat for company 1 and company 2 and got offer letters from both. However only later I was informed that company 2 doesn't allow KTs in 1st and last year.I was devastated and continued in company 1.Later on I left my job and did some studies and again applied for jobs. Now I am in one of the kewlest Financial services companies and also get to travel a lot.Have already travelled to more than 10 countries - multiple times and love my job .In short - there are ample of opportunities out there with companies waiting for the right candidate.Just focus on what you love to do , and if you are really good at what you do , nobody can stop you from getting what you want.P.S. - My second failure came in 8th semester when I again failed in one of the subjects. No failures apart from above . Strange!! Because nobody fails in last semester and I was although not a topper but amongst good students.I failed only in 1st and last year. This happened after I was placed and already working with RCOM.But company 1 kept me in.  Guess I was good at work .Failures come for a reason. Had I went to company 2 I would not have ended here where it is much much more better as compared to conventional IT.

I've scored 55% in my 12th. Do these marks affect your job interview even if you score A or B in all semesters of your college?

It will effect only for initial stage in career as many companies look for 60% or above in 10th , 12th and graduation. But there are also some companies that dont put such criteria. But my advice to you is although initially it will be tough to search for job, but it certainly is not worth to repeat 12th. Instead that one year can be spent to search for companies that don’t mind 12th score card and value the knowledge more. Don’t look back out of fear of future. Instead of repeating 12th, work hard in college and utilize that 1 year to focus on companies that wont mind your 12th scores. And once you gain experience 12th score won’t matter.Hope this helps.

Why does my Dad always put me down/be negative and critical to me?

My Dad is always saying nasty things to me, putting me down in a way. He will take the p*ss out of my career, or my ambitions or about things I say or do. Just about everything really. It's been happening for as far back as I can remember, and I can remember a lot.

About me...I am 22, I have a 2.1 degree in law. I am about to start a graduate placement in PR. I should be thinking I have a lot of potential and capability but I feel like i'm nothing and i'm worthless. I feel that i don't deserve anything. I want to earn a living, and it took me a long time to find a job and get somewhere after university. My Dad blames me for everything. It pains me deeply and I sometimes wish i was not alive. I have never taken criticism well and so things said by him always hurt me.

I feel like i'm not going to get anywhere in life if what he says is right. I also feel like a nobody and i suffer from a lack of confidence to do things, even little things sometimes. I guess my self-esteem is being affected.

I don't know how i got even this far in being able to do anything with myself and my life. I am always worrying about the future, about money (because my parents don't ever give me any and never have), about making sure my partner is happy.

I am always crying at little things and i always get so upset and i always stress. My teacher once asked me why i hold people to such high standards and have high standards in doing things. It's because i've learnt at home that my best is never good enough.

Will my poor board marks affect my future if I want to pursue higher studies in foreign universities or in placements, but work hard in a private Tier 2 engineering college?

I guess, others have already answered your question well.I would like to add the following:As you know there are great people who are college dropouts like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg etc.Source: Famous Entrepreneurs Who Dropped Out Of College - InfographicSo, do not lose heart. You need to understand that if you have good attitude, knowledge can be acquired through many forms like self learning, online courses, reading, working etc. So, one should have good interest, passion or attitude to gain knowledge and required skills. With calculated risk, one can become good entrepreneur and give jobs to others. So do not worry. Do what it interests you in life.Cheers.

So My dream job is to become an anesthesiologist?

I don't understand what you are asking of us. Your English skills are poor, so you need to focus on those pretty seriously in the near future.

Your high school classes are going to be helpful to get you into a good 4 year college. A good 4 year college will help get you into a good med school. A good med school will help you get into a good residency program. A good residency program will help you get a better job.

Your high school classes will help you get going on the right path. If you want to take AP classes, then take them, but also understand that it's no guarantee of anything. If you feel like they are going to be too much work, then focus on volunteering and building your medical resume instead of focusing on AP work.

My engineering first year was terrible.Poor CGPA around 6.5. Does that affect my future in an adverse way? Does first year matter a lot for MS or during job placements?

Yes, it will hurt you from obtaining jobs at top companies if you obtain average grades for the rest of your academic career. It will definitely hurt you when looking for internships for your first and second year. Typically, internships for first year and second year students are pretty much awarded to students with high GPAs since you don't have too much experience. Unfortunately, your first year will be a scar that will be holding you back from many opportunities, but don't give up. My advice: Make sure you do something you are passionate about that can convince the employers to look past your GPA. Get much better grades later; don't slip up in any class. As for grad school, it will be difficult, but if you're able to get awesome grades for all future semesters, then you still have a good shot. From now on, you need to prove to everyone that you are the comeback kid. Good luck.
