Why do Americans complain about immigration?

I'm not American(Danish), so don't call me a hard-core liberal or whatever.

Just because your family has been in America for 5 generations, doesn't give you any more of a right to live in America than someone else.

If anyone has the right to talk about immigration, it's obviously the Native Americans. They've been there for more than 100 generations. Over 15,000 years/50,000 years(I've heard both).

At least Latin Americans aren't trying to change the culture, killing others and forcing their culture/religion down people throats.

also, America is a very powerful country. It influences Mexico a lot. There's a saying that goes "when America sneezes, Mexico catches cold".

the reason why "El Chapo" was/is a billionaire is because America's thirst for illegal drugs.

I'm just asking this since Americans always complain about this online.

How many people are tired of hearing the "native americans" complain?

I believe what hes trying to say is that he's tired of them complaning about, how we shouldnt complain about the illegal immigrants, the native americans are saying we dont have the right to complain because our ancestors arent from here..so there for we dont have a right to say anthing about the matter..their the only ones who's allowed to say anything about illegal immigration..

Im part native american and part german..my family came here in the mid 1800's. My grandfather married my grandmother who was a cherikee indian. took her off the resorvation and gave her a home with land and cattle. she was happily married to a white man but for the most part my native american family stayed with the native american culture didnt want nothing to do with the white man and their ways..i have heard all of my life what the white man did too their family..Well i look at it this way, this is 2006 and if they dont want to live on a resorvation they dont have to, they choose too,my great grandmother was 100% cherikee indian when she died in the early 1960's,,even then she couldnt believe how the native americans still lived up to them..Yes the resorvations are in terrible condition and something needs to be done about it, but its up to the native americans to make the change..either make it a better place to live or get out..no ones holding a gun to your head and telling you to stay there..

These illegals Immigrants are doing the same thing that the white man did to the indians all them years ago..The are stealing, raping, murdering, taking whats not theirs to take. And if something is not done about it the native americans might even loose what they have now to the illegal immigrants.anyone who is a usa citizen born or other wise, has a legitiment reason to complan about the illegals..so dont tell us we arent allowed to complan about the illegals, because we have every right to complan.anyone who pays taxs are alllowed to complan..

Why do native americans always complain about stolen land?

1. We don't complain about land that was stolen 200 years ago.

2. We DO complain about the US violating congressionally ratified treaties they made with our nations, which is why we are taking them to court for it, and winning back our lands and rights.

3. We are complaining about the CURRENT and ONGOING thefts of our lands, which is still happening every other day.


As for the "you were not alive back then, get over it" attitude? So....you are saying that if I murder you, and move into your house, and make your children homeless, your grandchildren have no right to try and reclaim the stolen property? (because, after all, they weren't alive when it happened, so they should just get over it, right?) That's a very odd sense of justice you got there.

But in any case....many of us are still alive, and were alive when our lands were stolen. The thefts have continued right on into this very decade. Sooo.....now what?

Why do Americans complain so much about poverty when they don't even know what it is?

True poverty is extreme in third world countries and most Americans have no idea what it is like because they are not exposed to it. I think we do live in a country of cry babies. Even poor people in the projects can get designer clothes and shoes. We also are surrounded by ungrateful people who feel deserving of everything. That is shameless what that kid did, asking you for money to buy sneakers!!! I think if most were exposed to what other peoples daily lives are they would not be so wrapped in their own selfish, unnecessary needs. In a way it is kind of unfair to blame these people for their "way of life" they grew up in a country that more than accepted their selfish behavior, yet they are than crucified for it later. Some of the biggest whiners and most undeserving Americans are the ones in Hollywood, politics and any kind of entertainment. They make loads of unnecessary money whine how Americans are arrogant and ungrateful and need to help the global community. You don't see them giving up their overindulgent lifestyle that could help millions though.

While I certainly agree with you on a lot of points I think the comparison is a little unfair. What is poverty in the USA is different than other countries. I only say this because I did grow up in a low income family as a child and while I can say that I may not have experienced what a child in third world experienced it was no picnic. There were times when I went hungry for several days, not to mention l lived in a welfare community. I experienced not only molestation, sexual, physical and emotinal abuse that often went unnoticed or not acknowledged by others because I was a "welfare kid." There is a stigma when you grow up in a place like that and people DO ignore you and people do starve and lack proper medical care. They are also the people who are too ashamed or embarrased to talk about their life. To this day my parents never bring it up and my mom lies about it because they have come out of it and don't want to admit they were poor. I do get upset when I see these people spending money they don't have on things they don't need.

Why do gays whine and complain about having the right to marry?

I think marriage is great!!
Yes there are loads of people who get married and then get divorced..but if you ask them how happy they were when they got married, i bet they would say they had never been happier!
They lived in the moment, they were happy, they got married, after 10 years it falls apart, but that is life! If you don't get married you don't get to experience some of the WONDERFUL things marriage can bring....
They don't always have to be bad, my parents for example are still married and so are many of my friends parents and my neighbours etc etc. Sometimes you need to just try to find the right one...many women i know have got married and divorced like 4 times...but eventually the right one comes along and they've spend years together so happy!
I want to get married to my girlfriend, she wants to marry me too! Hopefully it won't fall apart, but if it does, it's nothing we can control...even if we weren't married, it would probably have fallen apart anyway!
I want to be able to walk into a room full of new people and introduce the one i love as MY WIFE. I never thought i'd be able to say that...and it makes me so happy knowing that one day, i will be able to do that :)

Marriage CAN be happy and CAN last forever...YOU will never know and never experience it if you never get married...i think it's your own loss!
