Should I take Geometry and Algebra 2 at the same time?
Same as my school . and there were quite a few students who doubled up my sophmore year. Definately on't take it over the summer because that will just ruin your summer. I would recommend doubling up and taking both classes at once. You can always stay after with your teachers for help or ask your friends. While it may seem like a lot of work this year, you will be glad you put the effort in :)
Is Algebra 2 and Geometry Hard?
Well, usually people are better at either Algebra or Geometry. I was always more of an Algebra person, but I actually really enjoyed Geometry. It's logical, straight-forward, and not as bad as people say (and I took the hardest Geometry course my school offered!). Use all studying resources available, take good notes, listen to what your teacher says, memorize all formulas (but not the night before a test), and you will flourish. How should I tutor someone in Algebra?
It is good that you are tutoring younger grades of math. I am a Jr High math Teacher. I teach honors classes. Algebra and Geometry. I love it and feel comfotable in tutoring and teaching. You must first ask yourself a few questions. Do you feel comfortable with that level of math? Can you teach the concepts thoroughly? If I do this, will it hurt the student? If you answer no to any of these please do not tutor these students. As one writer put it you will do more harm than good. I am not saying this to be mean but to save the student in having to deal with the fact that someone showed them wrong. While I was in college there were some students who needed calculus help. I had to tell them I could not help them. I only help wiht what I am comfotable teaching. That is why I teach Jr High Math and not High school until I get the proper education. That is why I do not teach English because I do not feel comfortable in doing so. About charging this side of the country. The going rate is about what you are charging. If you have a college two year degree you can charge more. I while I was working on my bachelors degree, i charged 25 dollars. I hope this helps.
