Does Anybody Know Specifically How To Get Insurance Through The Health Care Act

Do the affordable care act effect all health insurance?

Obamacare isn't insurance, it's a law. It's another name for "Affordable Care Act", which isn't at all affordable.

The law has affected most of health insurance - although in some states, you can still buy a policy that is NOT compliant with the law, and then pay the fine, on top of the health insurance premium.

The law says, you MUST buy inpatient drug rehab services, you MUST buy free birth control, you MUST buy maternity benefits, you MUST buy a policy with unlimited coverage. All those extras, are going to pile on the costs. Of course.

I need health insurance off season to cover specific things?

I am trying to get health insurance ASAP for me and my sister. I need it to cover substance abuse for detox and rehab or at least detox and prescriptions. Also I need treatment for a hypo active thyroid which I have never started. Also i would like coverage to be full or as close to full as possible. Not Medicaid or Obamacare I’m trying to get good insurance. Any advice I tried looking it up but it’s too much I want straight to the source. Thank you!!

Why is it considered illegal to not have health insurance?

How do I avoid paying for Health insurance in America and still be legal? In the U.S. it is NOT “illegal” to opt out of obtaining Health Insurance.Your choices as an alternative of securing “essential health benefits” are:Pay the Tax PenaltySeek an ExemptionThe Tax Penalty for 2016 is 2.5% of your total household Adjusted Gross Income, or $695 per adult and $347.50 per child to a maximum of $2,085.The tax/penalty can be considered an opportunity cost of purchasing your health insurance. In other words, you are foregoing the $2,085 (savings) off the cost of health insurance if you chose to secure coverage.Though not a huge incentive, in your example, $1,500/month or $18,000 per year would actually be net cost to you of $15,915.No doubt, that is a lot of money. Yet your exposure to a catastrophic loss because of unforeseen medical expenses to you or one of your family members is exponentially higher.

Does Obamacare force people to buy insurance?

Obamacare does not force people to buy health insurance. However, a penalty is in store for those who choose not to comply with the law behind it, the Affordable Care Act (ACA).As a US Citizen, if you have not been granted an exemption and you choose not to purchase health insurance (or secure “essential health benefits”) as the ACA requires, the result is a Tax Penalty calculated on your Federal Income Tax Return. The IRS provision for this tax penalty is called an “Individual Shared Responsibility Payment”. Potential exemptions and instructions for figuring your shared responsibility payment can be found in the IRS publication, Instructions for Form 8965.The Tax Penalty for 2016 is 2.5% of your total household Adjusted Gross Income, or $695 per adult and $347.50 per child to a maximum of $2,085.Hope that helps.

What provisions of Obamacare sucks? Specifically name them from the law and explain why.

The individual mandate, the penalty if you choose not to participate. They punish you with higher premiums if you are healthy and you don’t need as much healthcare. Deductibles are so high that its basically the same as not having insurance, except its worse because you spent thousands of dollars on premiums this year. And no matter what happens, your premiums next year are guaranteed to be higher. What good is a health insurance policy with a $8000 deductible when you don’t even need to spend that much for your health in a year? I do not know from personal experience because ever since Obamacare I could not afford health insurance for myself, but I understand that this is the case for many people’s experience with Obamacare. I would support it too if I wasn’t having to pay for it, but those with preexisting conditions are the most expensive to insure and I have no problem with health insurance being available to them, but like everything in life, it may not be cheap. My auto insurance only goes up when I have accidents and claims. Health insurance should not be any different and there should be incentives or rebates or discounts if you managed to go a whole year without any health issues but still paid all your premiums.
