Does Anybody Question The Way They See The World

Any good interview questions for someone born in the 1940's?

Bring up questions regarding World War II. What did the person think when the Supreme Court ruled that African Americans had the right to vote? Ask about fads that were popular in the fourties (dances, beauty, etc.) Hope that helps.

To what extent does culture affect the way we see the world?

Culture is a very heavy influence on how we see the world even more than what most people realize.

Say for instance someone was to have been raised in a racist community that was entirely of one ethnic background and detested everyone who wasn't of their ethnic group. That person would most likely grow up to be a racist.

What do you think the world sees you as?

all lot of people feel the way you do. our lives go by quicker it seems... people don't have time to walk anywhere or talk to anybody. maybe because they feel the same way you do.

some people are just the opposite. they think the whole world revolves around them.

the truth is, neither is true or false. people do see you and notice you, because you are a part of this world and you are unique. but the world can and will go on without you too.

that's why relationships are the greatest treasures of this world.

Can one person help to change the world in a good way?

I am so impressed with all of your answers. You all seem to be truly concerned for your fellow human beings. I like all of your responses. You are truly good people, thank you for your thoughts.

I especially like leaving a bag of groceries at the doorstep of someone I know to be needy, and running. Excellent answers.

My choice as best answer is Mr. Energy Engineer because he found the details of my question, and seems to be doing something about it. I agree the truly needy are the children without water or food. So, to Energy Engineer - thanks.

P.S. I checked out your site, Thanks. Hope this works out - it is a great idea.

How do you view the world and why do you see it this way?

!00 years ago this world was different,The science and technology has made the life of the people amazingly easy. But,the people are not advanced in thoughts.99% percent of the people are fools.Only 1% people are wise. They are scientists, researchers, doctors, philosophers work hard for the well being of the Global population. They don’t follow any religions.they don’t waste their time worshiping gods. They don’t care god.But they are the gods making the life of the people easy ,comfortable and convenient .What make the people fools? No doubt, only religions make the people fools. Which religion show you the right path?God created this world and provided every thing for the betterment of the people. He created the Hell and the Heaven on this Earth.Making your life a hell or heaven is in your hands. But the fucking religions say there is nothing on this Earth and show you a wrong path,Not a single religion said this is your world and make your life happy. At my view, the scientists work hard to make a better world the religions ruin this world, erode the common sense of the people, erode the conscience, erode the humanity.Divide the people and kill the people. So kill the religions to make a better World. The World without religion will be a real world.

What are you going to do to change this world?

Easiest: change yourself, and encourage others to follow your example. It might not change the world immediately, but it's the easiest thing you can do as a non-influential person. You want a cleaner world? Dispose of trash responsibly, and advocate for cleaner living. You want a drug-free world? Learn about the drugs, avoid using them, practice activities that help promote wellness, and include drug users as part of their therapy.Another very easy way to change the world for everyone: vote for politicians whose platforms you can see yourself supporting. Only takes a moment of your time, but can easily empower people who would be obligated to aid you, their constituent. The reason why this isn't the first suggestion is because not everyone lives in a democratic country, and may not apply to everyone. This next suggestion requires that you be born in a status of privilege, but is in here because it's easiest for privileged people to do: learn from people who study the science and facts, then use your position you are blessed with, to push for the agenda worth listening to.

Do you think Poets see the world differently? How?

I think inanimate things have a language in which they speak to us. The poet is the person who speaks that language and understands what those things are conveying. But the poet also excels in a human language as well, to an exceptional degree, and therefore acts as a sort of translator mediating between the world of the inanimate and the world of man, transmuting the 'words' of the former into ones more familiar, albeit (necessarily) imperfectly. The person most capable of understanding the source of that mysterious power would be the one with perfect understanding of only one language, the source language of the inanimate. But that person would also be unable to convey its import to a human audience, and hence would not be a poet. In some sense, all of the syntactical and rhetorical invention characterizing poetry is an effort to arrest the normal machinery of language interpretation and to bring the listener into closer contact with that source language.

How do we know depression is a disorder? Maybe it's just seeing the world for what it truly is.

Q: “How do we know depression is a disorder? Maybe it's just seeing the world for what it truly is.”Depression has nothing directly to do with external realities, or the world that we can ‘sense’ outside of ourselves. This erroneous belief is the result of the ways our psychology works, but also because our feelings of depression will often correlate with external events, but not for the reasons we think.Note that clinical depression is considered a mental illness, but depression in every day life, is a feature of our normal psychological dynamics, although individuals will vary in their experience of this.Normal and clinical depression share some mechanisms, the most important of which is that the depressed affect does not stem from a conscious reaction to an adverse external event, but is the result of internalised attacks on the self which are unconscious, and generally stem from the unconscious representation of the ‘conscience’ (or rather what Freud termed super-ego).Since the Unconscious operates in ‘omnipotent’ mode (technically speaking), our conscience, in as much as it is partly unconscious, may hold us responsible for all and every external (or internal) event it deems to be adverse, which explains the correlation mentioned above. The strength and quality of these internal criticisms and attacks vary greatly from individual to individual, generally reflecting inherited temperament (genetics), but equally importantly, early environmental experiences, including parenting, but also the general ways of our parents, which are internalised. We are familiar with the conscious forms of attacks by the super-ego which often manifest as a critical internal ‘voice’ of our own - “Why did you say that, you stupid idiot!”; the parallel unconscious equivalent is very different, not least because the Unconscious has no formal or symbolic language, but it is this process of internal moral criticism, and imposition of guilt, that we experience as psychological depression. The conscience serves to inhibit our natural instinctual drives (aggression, sex, curiosity and so on) where it registers a threat to our social viability - the anxiety being ostracism, which once meant death and/or lack of offspring - and it performs this function more or less by rote, rather than reason, inflicting conscious and unconscious guilt, as well as ‘praise’ and higher self-esteem - the carrot to the stick of guilt.
