Does Anyone Else Collect Owls Is This A Fad

How much is the Denim Days figurines collection worth today?

There is this older lady at my church who has the entire Denim Day collection of figurines and is looking to sell them, but we cannot find a value anywhere. She wants to sell them as a set, but after hours of searching I cannot find any exact value for any of the figurines let alone the whole collection. Are they worth anything?

What does my obsession with owls say about me?

I love to collect owl figurines and wear clothing with pictures of owls on them. They're becoming a trend, but I've always thought they were cute. When I see them, I wanna cry because they're so beautiful.

Does that mean anything? I think it would be cool to find out that my owl obsession says something about me. Does anyone know or have a guess?

Remember: Owls are very wise...and they can fly away and go anywhere they want. They like to stay up all night, too!

Hoo hoo! Ok..that was a little crazy, I'll give you that. ;)

Why was Bratz dolls cancelled?

It is highly unlikely that MGA (maker of Bratz) will win the appeal. Carter Bryant (designer of Bratz) used Mattel computers, Mattel software & other Mattel employees to work on the dolls that he sold to MGA. The president of MGA, Isaac Larian, KNEW that the designs had been produced during Carter's tenure at Mattel & bought them anyway. MGA produced the dolls & when Mattel came out with the My Scene dolls, MGA actually filed the first lawsuit. It was during the first lawsuit that Mattel learned that Carter Bryant was working on the Bratz dolls during his tenure at Mattel & they sued MGA.

It was a MAJOR violation of the contracts he signed during the time he worked for Mattel & that is why MGA lost the lawsuit & will most likely lose the appeal.

Bratz have been on the downslide for several years. I work for Target & there has been a lot of parental backlash against the sluttiness of the Bratz, especially the Bratz Babies. Bratz haven't sold well in my store for several years. I think the big head, small body doll fad is passing.

What is the attraction towards keeping a coin collection?

I can only speak personally but there are two reasons I would highlight: Firstly, in a pre-Internet age, the one I grew up in—also before the ubiquity of cheap, affordable travel, collecting coins from abroad was one of the affordable ways of wondering at other cultures without actually going to them. I'll never forget the awe and wonder of my father giving me some drachma coins from Greece and marvelling at them. They don't even use our alphabet! They have an owl on the coin*! Or Nordic (I think Danish) coins: they have a hole in them! Right in the middle? Haha! Crazy abroad-type people. The second reason is also wonder-related. As a kid, you imagine very ancient things to be impossibly rare, Ark of the Covenant-rare. Not always so. In my numismatic days you could buy a Roman coin for about 10 quid. Not a lot to pay for something a couple of thousand+ years old. Someone or other wrote a short story about the 'life cycle' of a penny coin as it changed hands in various transactions over the course of a day. To hold a coin from ancient times and imagine it being used to pay for wine in Thrace, or entrance to the Circus, or as a tip in a restaurant long since dissolved into the dust of ages, well, that is a magical feeling. That is as much as I can say: the attraction for me was based on how hard doing so presses on my wonder brain receptors.

What Happened To My Scene Dolls?

When i was like 10 My Scene dolls were brand new and there were SO MANY! and then suddenly they disapeared (no new ones and i collect the new ones yes i know im lame that way) and then again barbie took over. Does anyone know if new My Scene dolls are coming out?

How to lose the midsection weight?

Run. Plain and simple. It is going to tone you down like you wouldn't believe. I personally hate running but I walk (fast walking) and jog lightly for 45 minutes 4 times a week. Def watch what you eat. Cut out sugars, fast food and SODA. You wouldn't believe how much soda can make you can weight. You have to do cardio to lose weight. Try aerobics if you don't like walking/running. Do crunches :) Pilates is great for the midsection also.
