How do I go back to the desktop version of Yahoo Answers on my phone?
I always read yahoo answers on my phone using the desktop version. All of a sudden, everything except my own page is now in mobile version. How do I go back to seeing the desktop version on my phone?
Does anyone else hate valentine's day?
I have never liked Valentines Day, even when I had boyfriends. It always felt over commercialized to me. I think that showing love to someone whether it is a family member or husband shouldn't be singled out to just one day. Plus, I don't like the whole "pushiness" behind it that tries make singles feel like they "have" to have a significant other or be in a relationship in order to be normal. I'm 29, and perfectly happy to be single the rest of my life. Everyday, I am discovering reasons not to marry. My family has this dillusional belief that "Mr. Right" is going to someday waltz into my life no matter what. It drives me nuts. When Valentine's Day roles around, everyone at works always wants to know what I'm dong that night, or the question, "Aren't you lonely?" or "You're pretty and young, I don't know why you're not married yet." I used to let that bother me, and make me feel like there was something wrong with "me." So, all the hearts, teddy bears and sweets just make me sick on Valentines Day. A lot of money gets wasted on this day as well. I plan on spending my Valentine's Day with my Boston Terrier, reading a good Dean Kootz book, and working on my master's degree.
Does anyone else hate daylight savings time?
I know how you are feeling. Here in Indiana, it's the first time in many years that we used Daylight Savings Time. Until yesterday, parts of Indiana and Arizona were exempt from using DST. Since our govenor signed a new law, we are now on track with everyone else. I had to set all of our watches and clockes ahead 1 hour for the first time.
What would happen if Yahoo! Answers and Quora merged?
It’s already happening as we speak!I know it’s hard to believe but such a fusion is taking place as we speak. Although, that merger isn’t taking place in the conventional sense. Quora and Yahoo never had any such deals as far as I know. So why am I saying that it’s already happening?Well! What I am trying to say is that Quora is trying to become more Yahoo Answers like in nature. Remember the recent changes? Remember this happening?I was as outraged as your average outraged Quora member when question details were removed. However, I didn’t understand just how bad the problem was until something happened to me recently. What happened was that I was going through certain technical subjects and came across a few questions that are very interesting. Then it occurred to me that Quora has a lot of STEM and philosphy people who’d be able to explore the ideas further if I shared it here.So what happened next? Well, the absence of the question details made it extremely hard for me to present my case with adequate details. None of the questions were things you could just throw out there and expect a person to answer it satisfactorily. So I just gave up and wondered if I should instead be asking questions like “If there was a battle between tea and coffee, who do you think would win?”.The thing is that there’s a lot of us who prefer online forums to discuss certain technical topics where we can write about the issues and present our cases properly. Quora wasn’t as good as that but at least had the feature that enabled us to at least attempt at addressing complex issues on this platform. What did that mean for Quora? It meant that people who like discussing such complex issues didn’t have to spend their time on forums. They could simply create an account here and enjoy everything from technical issues requiring some elaboration all the way to things like “Why I don’t like celebrity X” type of things.The removal of the question details turned Quora back into another question and answer site for me. Now if you add the problem of the abuse of the report feature by trolls or people trying to silence you, I really don’t think that we are that far away from becoming Yahoo Answers. As the site grows, these abuses will scale up too. Add the fact that we are now being slowly guided towards only discussing simpler issues and you’ll soon realize that we are probably almost certainly headed towards that future.
I hate technology! Anyone else?
You have points. However if you hate you cannot help. I prefer the middle way. Do not love it and find a way to use them wisely. Teach how to use them wisely. We have TV but do not use it as often. Therefore kids will not be missing it. So that as soon as they leave the parents they will not be attached to it. I have a cell phone but use text only to minimize the cell phone time. I do not like when people are present somebody receive a phone call and give priority to the one who is away talking. Text resolves the issue by giving chance to delay the response or resolve the issue faster. Everything has good and bad in it. if the bad is more than the good we should stay away from it. The word 'Hate' is a heavy one, it hurts the carrier more than the intended target.
