Is it worth drafting a backup kicker and defense in fantasy football?
I've never drafted 2 kickers.. But a rookie in 1 of my leagues drafted Mason Crosby; then (after the draft) claimed Nate Kaeding off of waivers; he went from 3rd on the waiver priority list to last,for an extra kicker! Anyway,having an extra "D" with all the bench spots you have is a GOOD idea; because you can match your starter to the weakest offense for that week.Like in my last draft I had 8 bench spots,so I took the Bears+Buccs Ds..And I'll probably start the (lower ranked) Buccs this week because the Bears are playing the high powered Packers offense; there's nothing worse than having a good offensive fantasy week,then get points subtracted away because a team scores 30 points on your defense. Bottom line: With 9 bench spots it's smart to grab an extra solid defense.
