What are some good topics for drawing competition?

A good topic can take the competition to a new level of excitement. Here are some good topics I could think of and I've also included topics that I've found interesting on certain events.Note: As you haven’t mentioned the purpose or the kind of people involved in the competition, I have given the topics based on age. I won't say it is perfectly sorted out, but I've tried my best :)Age 6 to 10 - beginnerYour HomeA treeA flowerYour tree houseA FishYour favourite gameYour favourite fruitYour favourite vegetableAge 11 to 14 - intermediateYour dreamYour favourite cartoon characterSceneryUnderwaterNational AnimalNational BirdDraw your petA spaceshipAny kind of Futuristic vehicleAny still lifeIf you like to give topics like saving our environment, pollution, global warming, social media etc., give importance to the idea rather than the quality of art but it is better to avoid these kinds of topics to art learning students - just my thought.Age 15 to 18 - advancedA swimming personA drowning shipChasing copHelping a beggar*Give a situation like above examples.A complex still life - utensils and cluttered deskDetailed still life - cameraExpertLive portrait drawingDraw your friendAny human portraitA freedom fighterSurrealHope this helps.Thanks.P.S. If you like to test the artist's creativity and time management give an open topic with one hour time.

Doctor Who fans, Lets get a little bit Nostalgic...!?

As we are still around the show's 45th anniversary, i thought i'd ask some questions regarding the past:

1.How did it all start for you? (i mean were you just flipping the chanels & came across DW, or you'd heard about it from a friend or sth, or...?? )

2.when did you watch your first episode & what was it? who was Your First Doctor?

3.what was the MAIN reason that made you interested in DW in the first place? & if you are a long time fan, Has it changed over the years?

4.how many episodes (or how much time) did it take you to get hooked & consider yourself a "Doctor Who Fan"?

5.[if you've seen more than one doctor!] what do you love(or like) about each of the doctors?

6.is there a specific story (or plot) you would have liked so much to see with a specific doctor(but alas! his tenure is over!)??
(a story of the DW books, an original idea of your own! , or ...)

7.what makes you DW-Nostalgic the most? (esp at times like now, when a series is over & the next one seems so far away!)

What is the strangest IIT JEE story?

Not IIT but MAINS.This is my story of JEE MAINS 201515 Minutes before exam paper was distributedI  was sitting on my seat and was meditating and concentrating on my exam.  Suddenly a guy 6 Feet tall (say Mr. X) came towards me and asked:X- Aur bhai kaisa h? (How are you Brother?)Me- Mein theek hu! (I am fine!) but in my mind I was like Kaun h bhai tu Mein nhi Janta tujhe.(Who are you bro, I don't know you.)X- tayari hogyi? (are you prepared?)I thought if I said yes, then he would disturb me for the whole exam. So to avoid him I tried to speak in Haryanvi language, so that he would think that I am not a studious fellow.Me-  Dekh bhai tayari ka ke h? Maine to form bhi na bhara tha berani kab  mere baap ne bhar diya aur subah bolya ki aaj paper deke aaiye! (What is  preperation man? I didn't even fill the form, my father filled it up  and today morning told me to go and give the exam.He got reluctant as I was quite successful in making him feel that I am a dumb fellow!X- Bhai ye side wala hoshiyar lag raha h iska dekh lenge! (The boy next to you looks intelligent we should cheat from him.)Me- Haan bhai sab taap denge! (Yes brother we will copy everything from him!)Bell Rings Suddenly. I was like let me concentrate!<>I  solved my exam completely myself (got stuck in probability question due  to which I was unable to see 11 questions of Physics section.) And Mr. X  copied everything from the studious looking kid. When  the studious kid solved  a question Mr. X looked at the answer and then  searched for that question in his paper and marked the same answers.  This continued for the whole three hours.<>X- bhai tune cheating nhi ki? Meine saara dekh liya uska and meine 81   questions kiye h. (Bro you didn;t cheat? I copied everything and attempted 81 questions,)Me- bhai aaj aatma jag gyi thi to meine cheating nhi ki! (bro my conscience did not allow me to cheat today.) <>We had become Facebook friends on the exam day.I checked my result, I had scored 210 Marks and then I saw Mr. X's status: "Packing bags for NIT KURUKSHETRA got 249 Marks"I was shocked and went into depression!

Urgent help, I can't do my homework?

I don't know what to do. I've reached the end of my rope. I'm in the 11th grade, and my whole life I've absolutely despised school (to the point of receiving truancy letters some years from missing school because I was too depressed to go). I went to an independent study school for a while, but had to return to public school because I ran out of classes to take. I love to learn and I love to read, but at school, all my creative impulses and desires to learn are crushed. I waste 7 hours a day in that place, and not only does school fail to teach me what it professes to be teaching me, but it also holds me back from learning outside of school; education is a private matter between a person and the world of knowledge, and you can't force anyone to learn anything (as Galileo said, you can only help him find it within himself). I want to be writing, reading books, watching films, doing art, playing the piano- when I think of all I could be learning at home alone during those 7 hours....it just crushes me. I don't fit in at school, and it makes me feel like a microbe, like I'm nothing special and devoid of any real talent and purpose (even though I know I shouldn't be thinking like that).

I can't do my homework. Even though my body is forced to sit in a literal prison everyday by law, I can't be contained inside this mental prison anymore. When I get home, school is with me from the time I get ready for bed, and I can't take it. I'm about to crumble. I'm forced to read text books (a horrible example of what a real book is), and I'm forced to sit there and listen to teachers drone on about things I find unbelievably irrelevant (irrelevant to me in the sense that they don't correlate with my interests and career choice). The environment at my school is insanely competitive (a 5.0 is the highest), and all the advanced classes I take are full of a bunch of pedantic, arrogant jerks who are just good at taking orders and showing off.

I don't know what to do. I'm trying to get my work done tonight, and I keep having to stop because I want to break down and cry. I just can't do this anymore. Help.

(P.S my parents are fully aware of this, and want to help, but they don't know what to do- they're not necessarily in a place to help me out either, considering that my family has other problems to deal with)

Help! My son won't do his homework!?

I wish I could type applause.
You should copy this and send it to every member of the school board and administration, the newspapers (not just local but The NY Times, etc.), each teacher in your district, and your PTAs.
It's well written and echos the feelings of many parents.
Your son is lucky to have you. That's all that matters.
Best wishes.

Please please answer its the last one!?

stop it
