Does Anyone Know Any Good Black Comedy Monologues For Women

Do you know any comedic, 1 minute monologues for women?

Here are a few ideas to check out - see if you can find these plays at your library -

Marvel Ann's monologue from "Psycho Beach Party" by Charles Busch. She is a 1960s teenager, yelling at her slacker surfer boyfriend to shape up and apply himself.

"The Dianalogues" by Laurel Haines has many amazingly funny monologues. It's a collection of monologues, all relating directly or indirectly to the late Princess Diana.

There are a few monologues in "Catholic Schoolgirls" by Casey Kurtti that are very funny. My favorite is Elizabeth's first monologue - she is a seven-year-old who explains the basics of Catholicism - to hilarious effect. There are also great dramatic monologues in this play.

"Kennedy's Children" by Robert Patrick has a great monologue that begins "I wanted to be a sex goddess" - but, this monologue is considered by some directors to be "overdone." Same with "Spike Heels" by Theresa Rebeck - great monologues, but they get done a lot, so they're not ideal for professional auditions.

If you don't want to go to the library, here are some monologues that are available online. They are not from published plays, but that is not always a bad thing - it's practically a guarantee that it won't be overdone:

http://notmyshoes.net/monologues/kim.html -- Long, but you could cut it down easily.

http://notmyshoes.net/monologues/angela.html -- There are three on this page, 1 and 2 can be very funny if done right - and may also give you a chance to show a nice range.

http://notmyshoes.net/monologues/carla.html -- Very dark, may not be what you are looking for.

A modern, comedic monologues for young woman?

Girl Comedy Monologues?

I have a musical theatre audition coming up, and I'd like to do a comedy act. I don't care where it's from as long as there's no cussing, and it's appropriate for a thirteen-year-old. It has to be over a minute! Thanks!

Does anyone have a good female psychopath monologue?

Lady Macbeth is pretty nasty here:

The raven himself is hoarse
That croaks the fatal entrance of Duncan
Under my battlements. Come, you spirits
That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here,
And fill me from the crown to the toe top-full
Of direst cruelty. Make thick my blood.
Stop up the access and passage to remorse,
That no compunctious visitings of nature
Shake my fell purpose, nor keep peace between
The effect and it! Come to my woman’s breasts,
And take my milk for gall, you murd'ring ministers,
Wherever in your sightless substances
You wait on nature’s mischief. Come, thick night,
And pall thee in the dunnest smoke of hell,
That my keen knife see not the wound it makes,
Nor heaven peep through the blanket of the dark
To cry “Hold, hold!”

5 minutes is far too long for a monologue, even 3 is pushing it for an audition. The above is probably 1.5 mins and is used for auditions.

freakin' great material. i would also suggest poking around the website to see if there's other material that you might want to use (i'm betting i'm a bit older than you and this monologue does have a bit of "age" to it). i've used it before and it comes in right at 1 minute.
