Can you give me songs on the theme freedom or responsibility?

Janis Joplin's "Me and Bobby McGee."

Song about taking responsibility?

i need to quote a song and relate it to how i realized i needed to take responsibility for my own actions. i can do the relating part on my own but i need help with the song

My husband does not fulfill his responsibilities as a husband Do I have to be separated from my husband or do I have to remain in our marriage?

In situations like this, it's good to review ancient wisdom explaining how men and women ought to interact. The Song of Songs is a poem which was written in Hebrew 3 or 4,000 years ago to explain how husbands and wives should interact.  It was preserved by meticulous hand-copying over the centuries because it so well captures the principles of maintaining a happy marriage.1) It starts with the wife praising her husband, right at the beginning.  Men don't seem to understand women very well; maybe having a wife praise her husband teaches him how to praise her in a way that is meaningful to her?  Maybe feeling appreciated by his wife makes a man more inclined to take care of her?2) There is no criticism at all in the Song, only praise in mind-numbing detail.  The man and wife are constantly looking for little things about each other to praise and appreciate.  The way it's put sounds odd to us, but you can easily re-word it to make sense in modern terms.3) The husband is totally involved with his wife.  He tells everyone that he believes she's uniquely perfect:Song 6:9  My dove, my undefiled is but one; she is the only one of her mother, she is the choice one of her that bare her. The daughters saw her, and blessed her; yea, the queens and the concubines, and they praised her. He's so focused on her that he doesn't see other women as women, only as people.4) The wife has the security of knowing that her husband belongs to her:Song 2:16  My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.Song 6:3  I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the lilies.5) The wife recognizes and encourages her husband's desire for her:Song 7:10  I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me.The specific way she encourages him is explained in the next few verses.  It would be a good idea to read the whole thing; it's short:Song of Solomon (Canticles) Chapter 1 No matter how well you follow the principles in the Song, there will be conflict from time to time.  This article tells how to deal with conflict:Handling Conflict in Marriage For more information on how to conduct a marriage, see:The Theological Foundation for Marriage There is lots more information available, but some specifics would help.

Anyone remember a 60s / 70s cartoon with a song that features the lyrics "I'm a hippie, I don't work."?

All I remember is that there was someone who was magically transformed into a "hippie" who sang a song that went "I am just a flower child, living free and running wild, (lyrics?) and grow long hair, do my thing most anywhere..." and ended with something like "responsibility I shirk, I'm a hippie, I don't work."
I wanted to say it was a "Droopy" cartoon, but I may be confusing this cartoon and the old "One Droopy Knight" cartoon.
Anyone remember this?

Does anyone know..?

Artist: Tom Lehrer
Song: Pollution
Album: That Was The Year That Was
[" That Was The Year That Was " CD]

Time was when an American about to go abroad would be warned by his friends or the guidebooks not to drink the water. But times have changed and now a foreigner coming to this country might be offered the following advice.

If you visit American city,
You will find it very pretty.
Just two things of which you must beware:
Don't drink the water and don't breathe the air.

Pollution, pollution,
They got smog and sewage and mud.
Turn on your tap and get hot and cold running crud.

See the halibuts and the sturgeons
Being wiped out by detergents.
Fish gotta swim and birds gotta fly,
But they don't last long if they try.

Pollution, pollution,
You can use the latest toothpaste,
And then rinse your mouth with industrial waste.

Just go out for a breath of air,
And you'll be ready for Medicare.
The city streets are really quite a thrill.
If the hoods don't get you, the monoxide will.

Pollution, pollution,
Wear a gas mask and a veil.
Then you can breathe, long as you don't inhale.

Lots of things there that you can drink,
But stay away from the kitchen sink.
The breakfast garbage that you throw in to the Bay,
They drink at lunch in San Jose.

So go to the city, see the crazy people there.
Like lambs to the slaughter,
They're drinking the water
And breathing the air.

Do you think we need a censor of songs (especially Punjabi) for bad lyrics and drugs?

Hope I could give a shot at answering your question without understanding Punjabi or being one.Yes, I must acknowledge the fact that song lyrics, just like movies, do have a huge impact on many people, since many minds are easily impressionable. But, I am personally of the opinion against censoring bad lyrics or movie. We need to give reasonable space and freedom to an artist to express their views through their craft. I say this because it is the audience's right to decide for themselves whether a particular work of art is favorable to them or not. If popular opinion is against a particular work of art, I don't see any reason why that piece of art would do well. The opposite would be equally true.Let's not take responsibility to decide what other people can or cannot enjoy, unless the other people are minors. In that case, the responsibility will fall on the closest adult to keep tab on what the minor is exposed to.Hope this answers your question.

What are some songs that relate to the book anthem?

I've read this, though Rand's later works apply the theme more effectively. The book is about how the character discovers that he is an independent being who will function independently from others. I'm afraid that there aren't a lot of songs that celebrate mental independence and responsibility. There are several songs along the theme of 'This isn't right, but I'm not sure what's wrong'. Most of these are from more emotional genres of music such as hip-hop and metal.

What is a song about conflict? And one about groupthink?

I have a group communication class project and I have to find a song about conflict and a song about groupthink. I am especially stuck on the groupthink part, can't think of anything. If anybody has one it would be a big help! Also preferably something from an older rock band 60s-90s? Just no mainstream stuff but I'll take mainstream if that's all I've got!
Oh and groupthink is the practice of thinking or making decisions as a group in a way that discourages creativity or individual responsibility. Like people are afraid to share ideas to the other group members and to go against the general consensus.
