What are some good Russian cartoons besides Masha and The Bear?

Well, I am mostly into the old soviet animations, so here you go.Bremenskie Muzykanty (“Bremen Town Musicians”). My personal favourite:“Winnie-the-Pooh”, the soviet version:Nu Pogodi (“just you wait”):Troe iz Prostokvashino (“the three from Prostokvashino”):Now, not a soviet one, and to be honest quite an adult one. Why is the cartoon Masha and the Bear so popular?

Each episode is of perfect lenght for children. 6–7 minutes is a length that can hold the children's attention. Each episode has a meaningful story. It also has an educational message But it isn't too obvious or annoying.Because of the meaningful story both adults and children can easily relate to the episode.Masha and the Bear is visually-beautiful.Characters are likeable (but Masha can be annoying and some people find her too rude, selfish and too spoiled). Most of the episodes are interesting because they are based on the conflicts of characters’ different attitudes and behavior.Supporting characters are cute (squirrels, rabbits, wolves, the panda bear, Bear's female friend…).Best regards!

Are there any Pro-East/Pro-Russian Bosniaks?

A2A.Yes, while ignoring politics, many Bosniak kids and parents love Russian cartoon Masha & the Bear:I do not have any real data about this, but Bosniak tend to gravitate politically in between Russophobe to neutral, unlike Serbs which are neutral to Russophile. These type of perceptions tend to vary over time and are influnced by the way Russian politics are affecting Bosniaks. Generally, Bosniaks are pro -West.

Does Masha wearing a headscarf make the Masha and the Bear cartoon more acceptable in Muslim cultures?

Masha, the cartoon character, is wearing traditional Russian peasant girl’s clothes. In fact, up to the mid 20th century is was customary for (mostly married) women in many places in Europe, especially conservative ones, to cover their heads, either with a hat or a headscarf. Up to the 1970s, many married Irish Catholic women, especially in rural regions, would not leave the house without a headscarf. The Catholic nun’s habit is a throwback to the the clothes a medieval Christian married woman would wear (being symbolically married to Christ). In the European Middle Ages a married woman would cover her hair in public.

Why do people associate bears with Russia?

Maybe its not true but, during cold war US boosted that Russians were bulky, had enormous paunch but lumpish same as bears in people's minds. On hollywood movies Russians are always huge but even midgets would beat them. Unfortunately ,still in most countries Russian's image is ; vodka sipping bulky bears for men.

What is your review on Masha and the bear?

I really enjoy watching Маша и Медведь In English or Russian.I give it an 8/10.I can understand why some people don't like it. It is low poly, Foreign, at first people tell me it is strange. My brother made fun of it because “What She (Masha) says doesn't match her mouth." In responce “You do know it's Russian, right?” NOPE. He did Not. XD [He also thinks “the goat looks creepy”]It's always fun to see all the Russian things that have been put into the show. From Masha's babushka hood to Bear's Water heater.Different than the story it's been roughly based off.Let's just say it has provided yet another cute show to watch.
