Does Anyone Notice The Connection Between Maze Runner And Maximum Ride

What are some really good series like Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, Harry Potter and the Maze Runner?

I fell in love with the Percy Jackson series, Heroes of Olympus, Harry Potter and The Maze Runner books. And now i can't seem to find any books that even compare to those four amazing ones. Please tell me about some books that are as good as those. And I tried the twilight series and I hated it so don't recommend that. Also I love fantasy adventure books so please stay with that genere. Thanks!

What is the importance of visual effects in the movie?

The real problem with the importance of visual effects in a movie is that, when it is at its best, you don't seem to notice it at all…!!! It combines incredible artistry and technical skills. Artists work on shots for countless hours to showcase those few fancy scenes…The visual effects are very important, they serve both the story and the character. How anyone can forget the Hravey Dent's “Two Face” in The Dark Knight..??Or, 100% VFX of Old Benjemin in Brad Pitt's : Curious Case Of Benjemin Button… Did you think it was makeup..??It helps a director to efficiently achive what is practically impossible, or too damn expensive to achieve, while a movie is being shot.I mean, how else the EPIC Dawn Of Justice scenes vs. Doomsday would have been possible..?? Unless Warner Bros. were okay with bankrupting themselves up.. :D..Even instead of hiring an insane amount of extras, large crowds can be animated and built inside computers..And not to forget, they are getting good with each passing day…A perfect example is : While VFX in Matrix Reloaded appear to look artificial now a days,The same technology clearly got a lot better by the third Matrix movie, which was released in the same year..!!!.So long story short… Yeah, VFX is a boon to both the film makers and the audience. And without a doubt, It has become an inseperable part of the film industry now a days.

What's a good young adult book that isn't too big?

Im looking for books to read. Some things I love are:

Harry Potter
The Mortal Instruments
Divergent
Hunger Games
Looking For Alaska
the MTV show Teen Wolf
The Vampire Diaries
CW's Arrow
Game of Thrones
Percy Jackson Jackson & Heroes of Olympus
Starz's Spartacus
etc.

Basically Im looking for something with like a lot of mysterious connections with good plots. I hate book synopsis because they always say the same thing: "thrilling" "like THE HUNGER GAMES" "Heart Pounding". I need actual opinions and suggestions. Preferably a series. Lots of tragedy, something to really shake things up, get into characters mind sets. There are books I havent read yet that I am thinking of reading like:

Witch & Wizard series
Vampire Academy (the movie's coming out and it doesn't seem like the stereotypical type I hate)
Im trudging through The Maze Runner series but i dont know how much I'm liking the first book.
Legend trilogy (this is hard to focus on with the different color print and the plot was a little predictable from the first chapters)
I started Gone series but... no. It infuriates me with the children's ignorance and immaturity. And it got unrealistic with "The Darkness"

I am really leaning forward to reading "A Quest For Heroes" series. It sounds really good and if anyone has opinions or suggests I'd appreciate it.

What are some good young adult/adult books?

I agree with Ryan's answer (though I have not read Lolita, but after hearing so much about it, I will definitely check it out!). 13 Reasons Why is very good.
To that I would add Misery by Stephen King, maybe The Host by Stephenie Meyer (though it's quite long, I am not sure you want that), Peter Pan in Scarlet is a "sequel" to Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie, it is really good, sorry, I cannot remember the author.

Edit: The Dive from Clausen's Pier by Ann Packer is great and a more "adult book" as you say. It has adult content (I don't mean sex, more like the problems the character faces).

Edit: Lucky by Alice Sebold ( author of Lovely Bones) was great, but sad...it follows the author as she tries to overcome rape and get her rapist in prison for what he has done to her.

Books to read after Harry Potter and Percy Jackson?

We've read basically the same books so I'd suggest:
Divergent and Insurgent
Ranger's apprentice series
Inheritance series (Eragon, Eldeast, Brisingr, Inheritance).
The Maze Runner (and the other two books in the series plus the prequel).
The Bartimaeus Trilogy. (This includes a lot of magic but I was not satisfied with the ending, but it's a very good series)
Blood Red Road (The sequel is called rebel heart I haven't read it yet though, and the series is called the Dustlands and I have to warn you the way it's written is a bit strange and put me off at first but you get used to it, and after a while it gets really cool, it's written all slangy with weird words).
I Am Number Nour (So far there are three books out I think the second is a little stupid though, but the frist is really good).
The Golden Compass (Don't read the series if you'r really religious but if you've read Harry Potter you should be fine)
Maximum Ride (The first book is the best the next few books are alright but after the third book it becomes rubbish and you see that a lot of the sequels in my opinion, are just made for moneythey get really repetitive and the characters don't act like their characters anymore but it's really funny andf the fiorst three books at least are Worth reading).
Inkheart ( The first book is a bit hard to get through and boring but it gets better eventually I swear, I you read Lord of the Rings you'll manage I'm still struggling through LOTR).
Alex Rider Series (I was never really into spy books before I read these but they're really good the first novel is Stormbreaker)

Hope you like these books.
