Does Anyone Own A 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

Are Jeep Grand Cherokees a reliable car?

I assume you are talking about a used vehicle, so we will cover that first. A Grand Cherokee is a family car that has 4 wheel drive, and is often mistaken for a vehicle that can do all terrain as well as its smaller brother, the Wrangler. It can't. It will hold its own, but the 4 wheel drive feature is best used for getting out of snowbanks and through muddy terrain. As with any other SUV or regularly driven vehicle, they require a regular maintenance schedule. If you buy a new one, stick with the warrantied maintenance plan until the warranty is over, then look for a reliable workshop (as in: "known in your community as reliable"- check with the Better Business Buro or Chamber of commerce) to do regular checks of the vehicle- The service requirements at 80,000+ miles can be taken from the internet. I have had two Grand Cherokees- a 1996, and I currently own a 2001- Both ran (run) fine, but the 96 started developing engine problems around 254,000 miles, so I sold it to a mechanic. The 2001 was solid in the body and engine and had only 141,000 miles, but had severe steering and brake problems when I bought it- I took it to a couple of shops around where I lived and asked them to do a diagnostic on the vehicle, and walked through all the problems with them that they told me- after I understood what needed to be done, I picked the most reputable (based on word of mouth and internet research) And worked out a long term maintenance and repair plan with them. The benefit to all of this is that I was able to budget my maintenance expenses, and get the car of my dreams fixed. After almost 4 years and a good $8000 dollar investment, I now have a Jeep I can trust to take me on a cross country trip with my GF without a major problem. If you but a new Grand Cherokee, be sure to check the options- you want some luxury, but not too much (you can never go wrong with a decent sound system and a hands free telephone capability- and cruise control). As for the maintenance requirements, if you stick with the warrantied maintenance plan , you can normally drive it until 80-100,000 miles with no problems- unless you do a lot of off-roading, then things will break. The things that break during off-roading are usually expensive.

How long does a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee last (years and miles)?

Well,I purchased a 2012 model (GC Overland with 5.7 L Hemi) with lowish miles (34,000) a Year ago. It has now done 46,000 mi. So far, it is still in showroom condition. Mechanically perfect and still as tight as a drum. No trace of any squeaks or rattles. I drive in Southern Africa where roads are often not the best, so -at this rate- it should be good for many more miles. I expect when it has 150,000 mi on the clock and is 10 years old, it will still be like a new car, but I don’t expect to be offered a decent trade in. That being said, I will almost certainly look for a similar deal again, 5 or 6 y.o. GC with under 40,000 mi, in perfect nick and start again.

How does it feel like to own the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk?

How does it feel like to own the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk?I don't know about owning one, but to drive one on a daily basis for 3 weeks? FAST.Ok, busted. That’s the Hennessy 1000hp version, but the stock Trackhawk is still scary fast. Yes, scary. You're all comfy, sitting in plush leather, climate control doing its job, sound system playing your fave tunes. Some monkey pulls up beside you in his new Corvette and urges you to race off the line.Guess who wins? Can't decide? Then watch this. Stock Trackhawk vs various other muscle cars WITH modifications. And that is why I say “scary". For an SUV style Jeep, the Trackhawk is unbelievably fast. Off the line, rolling start, 100+ acceleration, anything. Pure and raw Mopar power. All 6.2 Litres, 707hp and 645lb/ft torque of it.

What kind of gas does jeep grand Cherokee use?

Regular Unleaded. Anything else will be a waste of money.

How do you drain the gas from a jeep grand cherokee laredo straight 6, if there is no drain plug?

You have to use the gas up, there is no further option. You can wait over a long period of time and let it dissolve on its own. Other than that there is no other option.

There is a light on the dashboard of my Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (I just bought it used).?

if its just a round red light, its for the SKIM (sentry key immobilizer system) or the factory alarm system. if you got an owners manual with the jeep, there is a section to show you all the lights and tells you what they are. or you could go to a dealer and ask a service writer. if any light is staying on you should probably have it looked at to be safe.

How can you replace lost keys for a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I know these keys have a special chip in them which makes simply calling a lock smith out to make a replacement key not an option.

Does anyone know the process of going about getting replacement keys?

Is it safe to buy a new Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I've always wanted one and I'm finally in a position financially where I can purchase one worry free. But with all the problems I'm hesitant to buy it.

If there are so many fatal problems with the car, how is Jeep still able to sell so many GCs?
