Who will my 11th grade score affect my admission to NUS and NTU?
Grade 11 scores are not expected by NUS or NTU. But, try to aim higher in Grade 12 (if u have not written the exam yet!). 93% is quite low for an international student applying to top notch universities here in Singapore. You would want to look at something above 95% for good chances. By the way, which course are you applying for? Your chances may vary depending upon your course. Medicine, Dentistry and Law are extremely competitive! Engineering and Business is slightly less competitive than the above! You have secured a good SAT score! If you have participated in some competitions/olympiads, do add it in your application, it carries a lot of weightage! Altogether you have a fair chance! But being an international applicant, I believe that the process is tough, but try hard. Hope you achieve your dream :)
Does your 11th class marks count anywhere?
The marks that you score may not get counted in anywhere, but the syllabus covered in class 11 is of supreme importance and one must never ignore it.Here in India, only the marks of class 12 matters and class 10 marks matter only for getting admission in class 11/12.But most of the competitive exams like JEE mains, JEE advanced, BITSAT and others do have a large portion of the syllabus based on the class 11.Also several chapters in class 11 are linked with chapters of class 12.For example, you cannot get through the probability chapter in mathematics (class 12) until and unless you have a great knowledge and grip over the chapters like permutation-combination and binomial theorem of class 11.Several basic concepts and name reactions of organic chemistry if not covered in class 11 itself may pose problem when understanding higher level organic chemistry in class 12.Therefore:But if someone is really messed up in class 11 (yes, it really happens to many, especially the people from CBSE boards) do not worry. You have to just give a bit more effort to make up the portions that you had to skip in class 11. Just have confidence in yourself and never lose it. You can ace class 12, guaranteed.An important note: If you are planning to study abroad (for your BE/BTech only) like in US, then class 11 marks are of prime importance and a bad score can affect your impression as they ask for official high school transcript i.e. your report cards from class 9 to class 12. With a C in AP calculus can i still get into a decent college? ...stressing me out so jmuch?
i was the best math student in my grade from 6th to 10th grade... now i'm a junior and i just don't understand calculus at the pace we're learning it and most of the other people in my class get it fine but i'm barely understanding anything and i've gotten 60, 63, 68, and 69 on my last four tests and it seems like its too late to go back and relearn everything, and i don't have any time for a tutor because i play sports and i have 3 other AP classes and 4-6 hours of homework a night. i know i'll never get into a really good school without straight A''s but what colleges do you think would accept a C and a bad score on the AP test? i'm so stressed out about calc i actually cry about it every few weeks when i am trying to do my homework and i can't. ughhahw
