Does Cricket Spread Hate And Jingoism

I am Indian and I hate cricket. Is it normal?

Ok, answer this hypothetical question,If you are from Pakistan and suppose you hate terrorism. Is it normal ? Yes, congratulations you are a normal human being. Same logic applies in your case too, buddy. Just a word of caution, don't discuss your insecurities out in the open, people might think of you as a weirdo or some might call you an anti-national. Just paddle along with the tide till the cricket frenzy subdues. The fact you are questioning your sanity over your dislike for a game stinks of lack of self belief. Dont do that, man. It is just a game which is snorted like cocaine by majority of Indians. We, as Indians, have associated so much patriotism with this sport that all the other sports have become a fucking joke in terms of popularity.

What do you hate about cricket?

There are few things which I personally don't like about cricket. To make it entertaining, they are making it very batsman friendly. Trust me, the match is more interesting when a team defends 220-230 in an ODI. We don't need powerplays anymore. The batsmen are able to hit out of the park even without powerplay.Batsmen can change their stance anytime, can come out of their crease, can switch hit and can do crazy things, but a bowler is restricted to bowl within the line. Little harsh, isn't it?DRS - the most complicated review system ever. It should be as simple as it is in tennis. If hawkeye shows it is hitting the stump, then the batsman should be given out and if it misses, then not out. The ‘Umpire's call’ thing just makes it more error prone rather than making it error free. Use of technology is to make the game free from human errors, but what is the use of technology if human intervention is made mandatory.

How did the British spread cricket to Asia?

Most people today think of cricket as a sport, but it is in fact an ancient ritual guaranteed to produce rain, at least in England. When the British found themselves on the hot and arid plains of India, and ignoring all local knowledge of monsoons etc. they attempted to make rain in their traditional way. They failed miserably, but some of the locals thought it all looked like good fun and adopted the ritual without understanding its real function. Since then they have got rather good at it, and from time to time teach the English a thing or two about their own game ;)

What, if anything, do you hate the most about being Indian or being from India?

I am compelled to write this after coming across a video recently. The video title reads “Avoid these guys in India.”An indeed intriguing title, with more than 2 million views. And a foreigner narrating it. I couldn't help but check it out.The video starts with an introduction about how to avoid getting scammed in the following way:Our narrator lands in Delhi Airport. He sets out to avail cab to his hotel in Pahadganj. He founds a cabbie pestering around him as soon as he gets out of the security gates. The man asks Rs.1200 per person. Narrator is traveling alone in this case. The man persuades a lot, makes small talk in fluent English to break the ice, telling normal rate is Rs.1800 around here, and he is making a good deal to the narrator. After he realizes he cannot scam easily here, he tells he will give better offer for Rs.1000.Narrator stays firm that he will check the fares first at a nearby Pre-paid taxi stand. Then this man recommends him to another accomplice of his, saying Rs.600 is the final offer, the best deal. Meanwhile, the other cabbie observes narrator from top to bottom, and in a calm tone, abuses in his native tongue, “This guy is a beggar anyways. Sister’s c**k!”Continuing in the same tone, he effortlessly picks up English in the next moment, and starts praising narrator for either his choice of shoes/trousers.The narrator doesn't give in and goes to the Pre-paid Taxi stand. Here he learns the fare to Pahadganj is only Rs.400.Coming back to another few of his previous experiences, he tells us about one time, even after hailing an exclusive pre-paid taxi, the driver took some more passengers on the way, just to have a buck on the side. Now that’s just taken advantage of!You know what was the worst thing here?READING COMMENTS ON THE VIDEO. See for yourself.Just because of the stupidity of few bunch of idiots, many people around the world suggest avoid visiting India. This is what I hate about being an Indian, being labeled as the worst people and country to visit to.(Image/s source : Youtube)

Why do young indians hate cricket nowadays?

Cricket has been at the centre of sports in India for a long time due to many reasons such as lack of participation in various sports or success of the nation in other sports. If u remember the good old days, all you got on TV was cricket. But everything's changed now you can watch any sport, anytime. Participation, more importantly winning in any sport by our fellow nationalists is a must for us to even know about the sport.(Not many people knew about F1 until Force India was a part of it)The decline in the number of cricket followers maybe due to the following reasons:Lack of time: If one has to watch a ODI match in which your favourite team is playing you have to spend a whole day in front of your TV.But it's not the case in other sports.Lack of suspense: The result of many matches are predictable even before the match begins. Even if the teams are head to head the result can be predicted way before the match ends.Only few matches can hold suspense till the end.Lack of breaks: Their will be atleast 1 match on any given day, much more if you consider all the leagues in which most the internationally renowned players play.Too much of any thing is always bad.Other sports gaining followers: Football is at the forefront in stealing cricket fans. It's short(90–100)minutes. Also leagues like ISL have played a great part in increasing interest in the youth. But cricket is here to stay for atleast few more decades. So for all the hardcore cricket fans, their is no need to panic.

Isn't Indian Media most biased? Release of IAF Pilot by Pakistan is an example. Whil it was a peace gesture, TOI and other media started false propaganda that Pakistan was afraid of India and continued to spread hatred among Indians by other means.

India and Pakistan are enemies, that much, both sides know and understand. But gradually over time the Indian social marketplace has gone into the occult with rabid hate about Pakistan. Scan stories about Pakistan in the Western media and you will see the putrid hate spewed against Muslims and Pakistan. With the last engagement between the two nations, the Indian side has gone over the deep end , continuing to dance all about believing the irrational fabricated narrative coming out their jingoistic platforms. No facts were required, not many questioned the narrative, which proves the narrative has degraded to the limits of reducing Muslims and Pakistanis to new dehumanizing depths just like the Nazis did to Jews.
