Does CVS conduct random drug tests?
Im going to be working in the pharmacy and I was wondering if they will preform random drug tests. Ive heard they only do them if they suspect you are doing drugs but im not sure if that applies to both cashiers and people in the pharmacy. P.S. Yes I know drugs are bad. Blah Blah Blah.

Seriously, you can't use drugs illegally and work in a pharmacy. It doesn't matter if they test before and randomly. They will test. Don't ruin the career. To keep people from predicting how to use illegal drugs, employers won't post their drug test policies. They WILL ask if you agree to get drug tested. On applying and when hired, they might ask you to go for an urgent drug test.
If you are a licensed pharmacy tech and fail a drug test for a job, will you loose your license?
No but there is a good possibility that you'll lose your job. Why do you do drugs when you know you have a license to protect and that you have random drug screens to take? It was time to just say no when before you graduated from school. You knew what you had to do to maintain your license and you should have taken heed to that. Here's your second chance. Stop while you still have your license. It's up to the job weather or not they will report you to the board for coming back positive for drugs, that's if your even positive. Don't stress too much.
Is it true that walmart stopped drug testing?
Yes, for the most part. Certain positions still require testing such as auto technition and pharmacy positions and management, but most entry level positions do not require a pretty employment drug screen. Once you are hired you will still be subject to drug screening during certain time such as accidents, promotions, or even if there is reasonable suspicion.
Will cvs drug test me?
They only test you if you get hired as or promoted to any supervisory position, or ANYBODY that works in the pharmacy. Sadly, the regular employees so not get tested, and there are no random tests.
Will CVS Hire Me as Pharm Tech?
Well I got past the 2nd interview, submitted my drug test yesterday and now I'm awaiting the criminal background.....thats what i'm afraid of. 2 years ago, when i was 17 in highschool, i stole petty items from walmart and was caught, ticketed with theft under $50. I went to court and got it dismissed, but I called my lawyer and she states that they will see it but it will say dismissed. My question is, do you think CVS will hire me? Is it strictly at the manager's discretion, or what. I didn't want to tell him during the interview because i was afraid "theft" would raise some eyebrows

How often do stores drug test?
For Walgreens: you do the online app, then the in store skills test, then interview.. if they decide to hire you then you are sent for a drug test & cannot work until they receive the results- if you fail you won't be hired. But if hired you're also on a 90 day probation period. After that you are subjected to random drug tests.. I've been at my current store for 13 months & this past Monday they did a random drug testing of all the employees that were working during the shift they came in during. If you get injured on the job & require medical assistance (like if you have to go to the hospital) you will be drug tested. So, if you're committed to finding a job you should quit & never do any type of illegal drugs again because if you fail a random drug test not only are you terminated on the spot but it will follow you.. the next job you apply to will probably find out & will be less likely to hire you. Just keep that in mind.
