Does Deep Mourning Exist Among Today

What does it mean by "the last tiger will not mourn its own passing"?

well i think it means that when all of your kind are gone i.e. dead, loneliness and searching for your equals or your type of people will push you to the point that death will be a welcome notion, that is you will be tired of a life with no companions and may probably be happy to die, as this would put an end to that.

During the thirteen days after a death in a Hindu family, does the soul remain present with their family members?

Hindu death rituals are explained in Grihya Sutra which I have not read. There is some coverage about it in Garuda Purana which talks of a 11-day sraddha and not 13-day mentioned in the question. Here are some passages from Garuda Purana that talks about what happens during the 11-day period. No sraddha can propitiate the soul so long as it does not enter the body. If the soul is not propitiated daily during the ten days (after it leaves the body) it will have to wander in the ether without food, agitated by hunger. The soul (of the deceased) stays in the water for three days, in the fire for three days, and in the ether for three days, For one day, it stays in Indra's heaven. When the body has been burnt in fire, the descendent should offer water libation to the departed soul. The mourners should take bath and feed upon the cake or the rice-meal.They shoul perform the Nautaka sraddha on odd days, viz., the first, third, fifth, seventh, ninth, and the eleventh.Whether at the threshold of the house or at the cremation round or in a holy place or in a temple, wherever the first days's rites are performed, the concluding rites too should be performed there. The Sraddha on the eleventh day is common to all castes. There is a ceremonial ablution for purification. After performing the eleventh day sraddha they become free from impurity accruing from death. After the ceremonial bath, they should gift a bed to the Brahmana. This releases the dead from pretahood. If there is no member of the same clan for the performance of the rite, another man can perform the same.Garuda Purana, Dharma Khanda, Chapter XXXIVThe reasons for the 11-day sraddha as given by Garuda Purana are:(1) to prevent the deceased from wandering about in space without food;(2) to free the descendents of the deceased from the impurity accruing from death; and(3) to release the dead from pretahood.

How does cathy's view of her own soul's unquiet existence after death lend emotional intensity to this reunion?

Wuthering Heights is Emily Brontë's only novel. It was first published in 1847 under the pseudonym Ellis Bell, and a posthumous second edition was edited by her sister Charlotte.

The name of the novel comes from the Yorkshire manor on the moors on which the story centres (as an adjective, wuthering is a Yorkshire word referring to turbulent weather). The narrative tells the tale of the all-encompassing and passionate, yet thwarted, love between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw, and how this unresolved passion eventually destroys them and many around them.

Do cats mourn the death of their owner?

Most people have this false belief that cats are aloof creatures and do not share any kind of emotional attachment with their owners. The truth is that cats are highly emotional and sensitive and they do mourn the death of their owners.Cats are very routine-oriented animals and get attached to people, places and things. It is very difficult for cats to adapt to any big change in their lifestyle. They can feel the persistent absence of their owner and react with behavioural changes like loss of appetite, loss of interest in toys, excessive sleeping, loud meowing and yowling at nights, having problems using litter box, urine spraying, restlessness, hiding or even attempting to escape. Grieving cats often simply don't seem like themselves. When a cat is unable to find its beloved owner even after hours of continuous searching,  it tends to feel confused, stressed out and disoriented. It may also suffer from anxiety or depression. There have been observed many cases where a cat continues mourning for weeks the death of their feline or human friends. It has also been known for cats to wait at the window, or sit on a gate-post, waiting for the absent party to return. It can be heart-breaking to watch your pet cat grieving the loss of a friend. To help your cat, spend as much time as possible with it. Don't let the kitty feel neglected or lonely. Playing, cuddling or just being there with the cat can help it bounce back from depression. Just like a human child, the cat needs extra love and attention in this phase. If the behavioural changes do not improve with time or the cat refuses to eat, it is advised to seek help from a veterinary doctor urgently. Thanks Pragya for the A2A. :)

Babylon doesn't exist anymore. So why does the book of Revelation say it does?

If God can tell the future than he would have known it wasn't going to exist anymore. I mean the area still exists and people live there but a city named Babylon doesn't exist anymore.

Can love only exist if it is reciprocated by the other person?

There are different kinds of love. The highest form is called "agape" and it means a compassionate love that flows from the lover to the loved whether or not it is reciprocated. It is an active love that seeks the other's good.

Then there is the love of friendship. You can keep up your end of that even if the other person doesn't, but it's not true friendship, because that is a reciprocal feeling.

Feelings of romantic love that are not reciprocated are closer to infatuation, because you do not have the reciprocal friendship, nor do you have the relationship where you have the opportunity to work for the other's good.

But you can keep your heart open and ready to respond with positive good towards them when and if the time comes when you have a chance.

When we kind of moon about over our feelings and loss, that tends to be infatuation.
