Does European Us Hitting To Cure Epilepsy

How can I stop fantasizing about getting hurt?

I think mental imbalances can occur from nutritional needs not being met, or be spurred by life experience. When you want to get hurt, try and notice what the background conversation is around it, and what it is you are trying to gain. Do you feel deserving of an injury because you're a bad person? Do you want to be laid up so someone will have to take care of you, or so you'll have to work? Are you just fascinated with the possibility of getting injured, and speculate after what the experience will be like?

When you're clear on your motives, you will also recognize which needs are not being met that have you go there, and will be able to consciously find other sources for that sustenance. A massage, a date with a friend, or boy/girlfriend, or going to dinner with family may help. Taking a break to not work would be a good way to relax. Studies of real life injuries, or trauma care might be a good way to fulfill interest.

Good luck!

PS: If you are noticing these issues newly, talk to your doctor about the dosage. She or he may simply adjust the medication so that you taper off more slowly, so that your brain chemicals can adjust more naturally as you practice some of the techniques you've likely discussed. The timing makes this the more likely culprit than nutrition. Also, discuss with her your revelations in exploring why you think about this. She may have some additional ideas yet!

Why in ancient Greece was epilepsy considered a "Sacred Disease", a gift from the Gods?

In ancient times, epilepsy was known as the "Sacred Disease" because it appeared to observers that epileptic seizures were a form of attack by demons or spirits that had invaded a person's body, or that the visions experienced by persons with epilepsy were sent by the gods.

Priests attempted to cure people with epilepsy by driving the demons out of them with magic and prayers. This superstition was challenged by ancient physicians like Atreya of India and later Hippocrates of Greece, both of whom recognized a seizure as a dysfunction of the brain and not a supernatural event.

Can hitting my head fix depression?

Let me tell you a story. I knew a little girl who had parents who essentially ran a cult, not too different from Jim Jones Peoples Temple. This girl was as bright and intelligent as anyone but prevented by her parents from exposure to the out side world or education. By the time she was sixteen, when most of us are rebelling by smoking pot or having sex, she was afraid she was going to physically harm her father who was the more insane of the two but who was totally defended by her mother. To keep from creating a worse problem for herself she began to hit her head against a tree to “numb out” so she would not do anything aggressive against her father. When she was eighteen she was overwhelmed with a form of epilepsy that cursed her life for years, her father interpreted that she was in the process of having her “psychic faculties open”. She did finally years later get away from her crazy parents, get medication for her brain and now, many decades later no longer takes that medication, but the lingering effects of head trauma can cause a vast array of unanticipated problems.I don’t recommend hitting your head. I also don’t recommend suicide which is only a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Depression can be managed and worked through far more constructively and creatively. Personally I am in favor of making art that helps you express what is going on inside of you so as to get it out. Talk therapy with a good therapist is also helpful. You have to be patient with yourself and willing to “go to school to study your self” in the process. This is how you save your life.Don’t hit your head, it’s the only one you have and there are no replacements.

Can I feel the effects of gabapentin right away or does it take weeks to work for anxiety?

Neurontin or Gabapentin is used widely for anxiety , depression, Fibromyalgia and certain nerve pain conditions especially those associated with diabetes it is also used for Epilepsy /seizures..Although I did not take this older drug. I did take Lyrica/Pregabalin which is newer but very similar to Gabapentin. It is mostly used now for Fibromyalgia and nerve pain as well as Seizures. Needless to say this newer drug is very expensive.Gabapentin can also be used for restless legs syndrome. Doctors usually start people of with a low dose and increase gradually for about 3 weeks. The average timeline for effectiveness is about 3 weeks but everyone is different. You may notice improvement right away. It is considered to be very effective and the newer drug Lyrica claims to have less side effects. I was on this newer drug for 2 years along with Cymbalta for Fibromyalgia. Good Luck with your symptoms of anxiety…

My self-harm cuts are burning!?

I know this is a horrible thing to do, buy I was so overwhelmed, crying so hard, I couldn't think of anything else to do. It was a mistake.

Anyway, I've recently stopped self harming.. I used to just scratch myself, but I was in so much pain today I used a box cutter and bled a tiny bit. Now they're burning! How can I stop it from burning? I put ice on it.. But that didn't really help.

Seizures and New York State Law Regarding Driving?

Your license remains valid until it expires or DMV
takes action to suspend or revoke it. Suspension and
revocation actions can be taken for many reasons,
including too many points for moving violations or
involvement in a crash in which someone was killed.
DMV can review your qualifications for licensure if
they receive a complaint from another person,
including a health care professional who is treating
you. However, health care professionals are not
encouraged to make reports as you can file a lawsuit
for violation of your privacy: the law does not
afford them immunity.
So the answer to the question of what happens to
your license is, simply, nothing.
Well ... not quite.

Whn it comes renewal time, they will ask about any conditions that would affect your driving ability, and you are really supposed to tell them even before renewal time. Once you asnwer honestly, that can trigger the form that your doctor has to fill out, the MV80-2 form.

Seizures
¨ Officially, you must be seizure free for a year.
In practice, the DMV may accept 6 months.
The MV80-U form must be filled out by a board
certified/eligible neurologist or neurosurgeon
based on an examination performed within the
last 120 days.

Discuss this with your doctor, you shouldn't be driving if he feels it dangerous.
