Does Gamesharing Work On Ps3

Is PS3 gamesharing illegal?

It's not illegal but it's against the PSN's user agreement, so you can technically be banned for doing it.

The only way to do it is to give someone your username/password and vice versa and then you can access their download history. You can see why it's a bad idea already. There is absolutely nothing stopping someone who has your username/pass from stealing your account

There is also a limit to how many PS3s something can be activated on. Content purchased before last November can be activated on up to 5, while stuff purchased after can only be activated on up to 2 consoles.

But yeah, giving way your login info willingly is probably the worst thing you can do. This whole gamesharing thing has probably made it easier than ever to phish people's accounts.

How does gamesharing work on PS3?

You are given two activations. This means you are able to activate your account on two different PS3's. When you gameshare, the person you give your account info to will sign into your account on his or her PS3, and download your purchased content from your download list. In theory it doesn't sound so bad because you can share games or maps with a friend who then in turn can do the same for you. The problems that can arise from doing this are many. First, it breaks the user agreement you have singed with Sony. So if they were to find out they could ban your account. Second, your PS3 could break which means that you have just lost one of your activations. That means unless your friend deactivates your account on his PS3 you can't download your purchased content again. You would have to buy it again. Third, if this person isn't as trustworthy as you thought (nobody is) they could change your password, potentially, and lock you out of your own account. Or they could simply log into your account and use it to cause trouble, which could get you suspended or banned. They can also read all of your messages, access your account wallet (if you have money in it) and make purchases. They basically have access to whatever you have access to as long as your account is activated on their PS3. I don't recommend sharing your account info with anyone. I wouldn't even trust a family member with mine. Tell him to buy his own DLC. A real friend wouldn't ask to do this. He is just taking advantage of you.

Is gamesharing illegal for ps3?

It is against Sony's Terms of Service, so in a sense, yes. It's illegal in the sense that if you're caught, they'll suspend or even ban you from PSN for violating the ToS. Not only is it a violation of their network and gaming ToS, but also privacy ToS. So it's recommended not to do it.

Is game sharing on ps4 legal?

Game sharing is legal on PS4 in terms of giving people disks, when you download the digital version of a game, you can't share it with other people. So in theory you could get banned.

Deleting Users after Ps3 Gamesharing?

Someone on my friends list saw that I was playing minecraft and asked if we could gameshare so he could get it. I said ok and gave him my email and password. He tried to download it and told me it didnt work and he gave me his information so i could look at what he had. I never downloaded anything either but now i have a user profile that ill never use again. How do i delete it? And if I do delete it, would anything happen to his account on his ps3? Im still fairly new to my ps3 so i dont know what im doing. d: thanks for your help!

What is gameshare on PS3?

Gameshare is where you go onto someone else's account on your PS3 (You need to know their PSN password) and download there games brought on Playstation network and get them on your account for free. And yes it is illegal,as you are getting content that you should pay for for free.

How long could game sharing get you banned on PSN if you were to do that?

Gamesharing is an feature… kind of. It’s a product made for family and buying a game 2 times for usage on the same console would be customerunfriendly (is there a feature for this on PC? I’m unaware… and curious). You won’t be banned of PSN. I’ve been doing it for 7 years (ps3 and ps4). It has small disadvantages though, but getting banned isn’t one of them.
