Does Having Seborrhoeic Dermatitis Effect The Chances Of Me Joining The Military

If I have eczema, will I be disqualified from joining the military?

Yes, Current or history of atopic dermatitis or eczema after the 9th birthday is disqualifying and I have linked the Navy's Manual of Medicine chapter on medical qualifications below. All branches have similar medical requirements in this regard. The above paragraph being stated this is usually an extremely easy waiver to get so don't lie to the doctor.According to the current Naval guidelines(the Navy actually tends to be the strictest branch medically since they operate in the most isolated environments): Psoriasis, eczema, recurrent rashes, or atopic dermatitis that may be worsened by the work environment to the extent that function is impaired or unacceptable risk of secondary infection is incurred are disqualifying. In laymen's terms this means that if it can be controlled with basic over the counter measures without causing an infection (which is the vast majority of patients) you should be fine.Check chapter 15 of the link below.http://www.med.navy.mil/directiv...

How many are approximately rejected in the medical test after getting recommended in the SSB for the NDA?

U can consider the answer of Shubhdeep Singh, who has already answered your question. It’s really shocking to see the selection ratio of NDA.Every year around 30% to 35% candidates declared unfit.Let me tell u the story of my senior,He was recommended from 1 AFSB Dehradun, (only two candidates were recommended from his batch) n unfortunately he got TR for his eyesight. Here, TR means “temporary rejection” which means u can appeal for re_medical checkup in any military hospital n can get clearance, but unfortunately this time he was declared “Unfit” but the other guy who was recommended with him was the only one who joined NDA from his batch.See, only one candidate. But don’t worry if u r a sports person then medical will not be your problem n if u r not then just start playing n start doing some physical exercise n take care for yourself.Cheers …! ;)
