Does It Matter What Time You Work Out

Does it matter what time I sleep as long as I get 7-10 hours of sleep?

Fascinating new research suggests that yes: when you go to bed can have a strong impact on when you’ll be the most energized and productive during the day.And according to sleep expert Dr. Michael Breus it’s not just about when you’re likely to be more productive and energized during the day. It’s also about what specific kinds of activities you might perform better at during those different times.““I used to think there were only early bird and night owl. And then I had a patient come in, who was a classic insomniac... And when my methods for working with her weren’t working well, I dug into the literature to understand what was going on. And I discovered that there were actually four different chronotypes.”Source: Beyond early bird or night owl: Expert says there are 4 types of sleepersThe basic idea here is to first figure out your own individual “Chronotype” based on the over 100 circadian rhythm patterns that define your individual sleep cycle. For example, you could be:An Early RiserIn BetweenerLate Nighter, orProblem SleeperHere’s a great short explainer video followed by a link to take the fast online quizz to find your chronotype:You can take the 45 Second - “What’s Your Chronotype?” Quiz here: The Power of When QuizAnd to answer second part of your question where you say as long as you get 7–10 hours sleep:As a Certified Sleep Science Coach I strongly suggest that folks try to get 8, even 9 hours of sleep if they’re extremely active during the day.Note: Always get the OK from your family Doctor before starting or following any new health, wellness diet or exercise program/tip.And here are some great suggestions for how to fall asleep faster, deeper and longer:David Haldorsen's answer to What are the best ways of falling asleep quickly? Finally, check out this excellent new infographic that breaks down each of the 4 chronotypes using a simple animal metaphor. from GetVoip courtesy of Entrepreneur.com .There are also some great productivity hacks to help you stay emergized and more productive through out your day!David Haldorsen B.A.(Psy.) Does it matter what time of day you take out the nuvaring?

I'm 17 years old, and I was first put on the Nuvaring by my gynecologist on November 4th around 4 or 5 pm. After 3 continuous weeks, I took out my nuvaring on December 1st at around 6am. I am now on my ring free week, and I have not seen my period yet. My gynecologist didn't mention much about what I do; he just gave me a pamphlet and sent me on my way. Although the pamphlet might have said something about the significance of what time you should take it out, I didn't notice it. Well, anyway, my question is. Am I still fully protected even though I took out my ring at 6am instead of 4 or 5pm? I had sex today, and even though my boyfriend didn't ejaculate inside of me, I am still worried because if the time did matter, I might not be fully protected for my ring free week. I hope you guys get what I am asking.

Does it matter what time i go to the GYM?

It actually does not matter what time you workout. The reason is because you are still gong to burn the same amount of calories in the morning that you would burn in the afternoon at the gym.
One person may say that to workout in the afternoon may be best because they probably figure that you can burn off the calories you had during the day... but let me put this in a better perspective for you.
Lets say you work out in the morning and burn 600 calories and continue to burn calories at rest for the rest of the day (these are just theorecitcal numbers okay?). And for the rest of the day, you ate 1600 calories. At the end of the day, if you ate healthy and burned more than you ingested, then you will lose weight.
Okay so lets say you decided to work out in the afternoon and you burned 600 calories and continued to burn calories at rest for the rest of the day. Then you ate 1600 calories again for the whole day total... you are still eating about the same amount of calories and still losing the same amount of calories no matter what time of day.
As you had mentioned, you like working out in the morning because you feel great for the rest of the day because of the energy. Well just keep on working out at that time then. Just as long as you are excercising! And congrats on joining Curves and starting your first week! Take baby steps.
I, too work out in the morning because I feel it really helps to start my day off right. But sometimes I workout during the afternoon slump time to help keep myself up and going during this time. And once in a while, I'll work out at night and I'm just feeling really great (sometimes I have more energy to workout at night than I do in the morning because my body had already been awake for the rest of the day and had aten and digested, etc.). But like I had said earlier, just chose a time that best works for you because you will burn the same amount of calories any time of the day (and please make sure you are keeping adequately hydrated before, during and after your excercise).

Do I have to workout at the same time of the day every time I go to the gym?

Depends. It is a great way to shock your body. Human body adapts really quickly. Hence, it’s always good to shock it on regular basis. That spikes up the heartbeat, ensuring better flow of blood and burning more calories. Changing your workout timing in an irregular fashion can help you in that. This means it can work wonders if you wish to reduce fat.Now for the ugly part.If you workout in the evening today, because of any reason, and then decide to return to the same workout in the morning, there are chances your body gets over fatigued, which is never a good thing. However, this can easily be avoided by taking proper post workout diet and sleeping long hours. This will ensure proper growth and rest for your muscles, making them ready for war in the morning !One other key point to note here is the diet routine bound to the workout. If you skip your morning gym session, the diet pattern that you have associated with that routine, say taking breakfast of high protein at a certain time, etc, will also be affected. You need to adjust that according to your workout session. This can be done by planning the day ahead. You may have to skip the session, but you should plan your day when you wake up. This would give you a subconscious idea of what to consume when, depending on your workout time for that particular day.Hope this helps. :)

Does it matter what times of the day you fast in the 16:8 intermittent-fasting method?

Good question. This is something a lot of people will ask me when I interest them with my IF (intermittent fasting) experience. What I tell them remains the same:As long as the eating window and the fasting periods fit into your daily life routine, you are golden. A couple nuggets of wisdom though:Try to have your fasting window include your sleeping hours; I recommend sleeping about an hour after your eating window ends and then skipping breakfast and instead drink some no calorie beverage like Fighters Fuel; then attack whatever you need to get done (studying and balling hard for me)I like working out right before I go ahead and break my fast with a king sized meal of deliciousness. I swear, you will look shredded. The cuts and lean muscle you'll notice on yourself while lifting at this time is incredible. However, since you haven't eaten for awhile, take BCAA’s to prevent your body from breaking down muscle instead of the fat you want to burn AND take a good pre workout to give you a jolt of energy to destroy your workout.Honestly, you don't even have to keep the same eating window everyday. For example, if on the weekdays, you have work or school in the early mornings and thus wake up and go to bed earlier, you might want to have your windows little earlier than on the weekend when you “turn up” and sleep in.Hope I helped and good luck!Ahmed

Work out BEFORE or AFTER eating?

I'd imagine it'd be more comfortable working out after breakfast, once your brain is energized and your metabolism's started. Wait for the food to digest (while stretching, or something), then start your routine.

As for dinner/lunch...it really depends on how hungry you are at the time. For example, if you work out before lunch and burn 500 calories, only to eat 900 because you're starving after all that exercise, it kind of defeats the point, right? You can also feel weak or woozy while exercising, from hunger.

Eating before a workout can increase your body's mobility, ability to be active longer, and it's less likely that you'll feel dizzy or nauseous while working out. However, if you have a giant meal and then start, then your body won't digest the food properly--leading to MAJOR cramps.

Work out after breakfast, eat a small dinner/lunch before working out, wait for it to digest, then go.
Good luck! ♥

How many times do bodybuilders workout a day?

Hi, They do it once a day and a maximum of 3-4 days a week and there is a very good reason for this and that is that when you weight train you break some of your muscle fibre in half and it takes up to 48 hours for those halves to grow into a complete full muscle fibre and that is how muscle size is increased. If you train more that 3 times a week then you keep breaking the fibres and they don't get a chance to grow in to full ones so you don't increase the muscle mass but you become fitter, have more stamina and have a much more muscle definition. This is why before body building competitions body builders stop eating big protient meals and train a lot more reguarly to get the cut-up muscle look.

Body building is about quality training, lots of good sleep ( as your body repairs itself when you sleep ) and good quality food, no junk food. I was always told that these 3 things ( training, sleep & food ) are all equally important.
