Does It Seem Likely My Future Boarder Could Be A Working Lady

How to deal with a disrespectful boarder?

I suggest you pull her to the side and talk to her in a calm manner, telling her that it is NOT okay for her to use your horse or gear without your permission, and that she is also upsetting the other boarders and their horses with her behaviour. You might also mention that there is talk that if she continues on like this, she may be asked to leave. If you feel nervous about doing this, you could talk to the other boarders about this, and a couple of you could confront her together, for moral support. Also, if she is confronted by two people, she may take it more seriously. But you definitely need to talk to her about this. If no one is willing to talk to her, someone could write a letter and leave it attached to her saddle so she will find it and hopefully read it. But I suggest you confront her in person- it would have more of an impact on her, and less easy to ignore as a letter would be.

Personally I think you would be better off without her- you claim she is knowledgeable about horses, yet she uses your horse without permission (which I find highly disrespectful) and criticises you and the others on how you ride and care for your horses. She is not knowledgeable- she sounds like a know-it-all who has no respect for anyone, and is doing whatever she wants as no one has the courage to tell her to stop and shape up.

Trust me, you are better off without her. If the person she is giving the lesson to falls off your horse, that person can sue YOU as it was your horse- do you have insurance for that?

Recently a woman took my friend's pony out for a ride without asking permission, galloped him down a stony dirt road and lamed him. When she was confronted she said my friend was a cruel horse owner for not riding her pony (my friend was getting over an illness at the time), and claimed she was doing the right thing for the pony. You don't need people like this around your horses, no matter how much knowledge or experience they have- or say they have.

How where bordinghouses an advantage for women during the industrial revolution?

The benefit of boarding houses was not for the women living in them, but for the factory floor bosses, who could easily track which females were working and which were ripe for exploitation. Especially since the typical family structures of the home were not present. This also allowed companies to charge for room and board, but also to pay less than they charged, in order to trap women in a cycle of debt they could not break from.

How would you imagine the world without border?

Borders are just arbitrary lines on a page, subject to change over time, and are at their core really an abstract concept. So abstractly we could imagine the world without them. The world existed for an extraordinarily long time without borders before humans decided we need them, and will be the same again if we die out as a species, or come to realise just what impact borders have on us as a people. We have a situation right now where we have relatively free movement of capital, and relatively free movement of trade. So money, and stuff, can essentially circumnavigate the globe without restrictions. But the people that are supposed to make this money, and make or buy this stuff, are restricted from movement (in some cases completely). Doesn't sound right to me.A world completely without borders would (at least initially) be not be so great for someone like me. As a cis white male, born in a country where the majority are in the top 1 percent of the world (Australia) , it is likely that coming back to the world average in terms of income / living standards) would seem like a long way down and cause a lot of chaos. Because I come from a ‘safe’ country I don't have travel restrictions to just about anywhere already. In a nutshell I am so privileged by comparison to most of the world it is difficult for me to even see it.But if you start from the principle that we are all equal... And if you agree that no one person is better than another just by where they were born, then you realise that over time the borders must be perforated. We should allow people to move as freely (or indeed more freely) than stuff, or money. So to attempt to answer your question initially there would be huge unimaginable chaos if it wasn't managed well, and it wasn't given time to ‘wash through'. That might be truly inter generational level change. I also guarantee that not all people on earth would agree to change at the same time. Likely Wars, riots, crime and all sorts of bad stuff. Huge economic consequences that would need to be managed (take the EU as an example). What happens with the system of law? Governance? Taxation? I am honestly not sure that a completely borderless world could actually function with our current political and economic models. Perhaps this would be an existential risk for our species. TBH, the question is too abstract to answer completely, but it is a good thought experiment.

My dog lost an eye due to neglect/lack of care at a home boarding place, can anyone advise help on suing?

WHile I was on holiday for 1 week, my two shih tzus were in home boarding. I did let them know that one gets gunky eyes every now and then, and they need wiping. I supplied her with eye wipes (aswell as having to take our own food!), i received a text while i was away to say that one didnt look quite right. I asked her to wipe it that evening and if in the morning it still didnt "look right" to take her to the vet, and that we were insured and i would pay any costs as soon as we picked them up. She said she would do this and not to worry.
When we picked the dogs up at 11.30am, she hadnt been checked on that day, and the lady said to me i think shes ok you know, seems alot better today.... Well my heart stopped when i saw her face and all i could think about was getting out of there and taking her straight to the emergency vets.

The vet was shocked that she hadnt been seen to before this visit, she had an eye infection and an ulcer so deep in went all the way to the back of her eyeball. Her eye was pure white. She stayed in for 2 nights and when she came home, 4 different kinds of drops every three hours. We took her back the next day for a check up and they advised she needed her eyelids stitched as the ulcer hadnt got any better. 3 days after her op, we went back to the vets. they kept her in and called an hour later to say they had opened up the stitches and her cornea had burst.

She had her eye removed the next morning.

I have been in contact with the local council and rspca
Can anyone give me any advise as to how i could sue her.
My poor dog wasnt given any chance of getting better, and wehn we took her to the vets i really think it was too little too late. She is only 2 years old.

Many Thanks

Nikki

Ideas for a future fiction story?

I am thinking of writing a new story but recently my mind has been a blank! I have a general idea of the setting but i don't know how to start or what plot to follow...

Main character: teenage girl, attends boarding school
Setting: Future Earth, when our era is destroyed and new civilization is built in it's ruins.
Background: This country is set in the future and to the citizens it is perfect, a utopia. The main character discovers the government is hiding something outside of the country's boundaries and wants to run away to find it.

I'm just taking ideas because no idea is a bad one, really... Thanks :)

What can we do legally about horses left at our barn with no board money?

My mother took in 2 new boarders last month (we have a small private stable, our horses and 1 boarder previously). To make things short, the woman who owns the horses has not paid board yet (so all of November and Dec board is due the 1st).
My mother called her and said that November and December board has to be at our house on the first, or the horses need to be moved from our house by Dec 10th.

If she doesn't pick them up and move them, legally what can we do? We already fed them for a full month for free.
We live in Wisconsin, if that matters.

To give them to the humane society, I am pretty sure you need full ownership, but not sure what else we can do.

Thanks in advance

Is it possible for a dog to get kennel cough after bordatella vaccine was received ?

here is a site that should answer your question and help you in the future.
http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_kennel_cough.html
and yes, they can still get kennel cough as noted, there are different strains and vaccines do not cover all.

What do Bengali girls look for in their future husbands?

Firstly, Thank you Anushree for this A2A.I am probably not the right person to answer this. I was born in Kolkata but brought up in Jabalpur. So coming back to the question, here is a little check list -Has to be an absolute foodie. No Bengali likes a starving, zero figured, stick thin person. We love round things like a rosogolla or this beautiful planet we live in. ;)Has to be a book worm. We would always have stuff to talk about.Even though I don't eat fish but he should eat fish (and love it) to compensate for all the teasing I had to face as a bong who doesn't eat fish. :(Has to be romantic. Who else would compliment our big, black, round eyes? Or our white saree with red border during durga Pooja  ;) Has love traveling. Going on trips. Which Bengali doesn't like to travel ?Should be spontaneous and open to things. I hope the list was realistic enough. If not, don't worry, we are pretty adjusting too. ;)
