Does Liberalism Apply To The Most Base Aspect Of Human Psychology

What is the difference between the B.A. psychology & the B.S. psychology?

The B.A. in Psychology focuses more on the social aspects of the study of human behavior and psychological function, and the B.S. degree focuses mostly on the biological and biochemical basis of behavior and mental function. Although these focus areas overlap, the background and experiences necessary to pursue one focus area or the other are quite different. The B.S. degree has a heavy biological and physical sciences emphasis.

So if your interests are in areas such as: Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Social Psychology, and Developmental Psychology, then you would benefit more from taking the B.A. in Psychology.

If your interests are in areas such as: Biopsychology, Psychopharmacology, Neuroscience, Psychiatry, Neuropsychology, Sports Psychology, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, Genetic Counseling, Public Health, Medicine, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine, then consider opting for the B.S. program.

Is the Austrian School really taken seriously by liberal economists in general or is it treated as mere curiosity?

Major Austrian economist who won a Nobel Prize was F.A. Hayek. John Hicks wrote Essays in Monetary Theory, where he has a chapter titled “The Hayek Story.” Hicks says economists used to argue about who was right, Keynes or Hayek, on the business cycle. Hayek had a credit theory. Keynes had his “animal spirits” or random explanation. Economists usually use the rationality assumption. Keynes was into irrationality, or abnormal psychology. Economists, as economists, took Hayek and his Austrian econoics more seriously than Keynes’ psychology. It was not a mere curiosity. Liberals though tend to denigrate any alternative view, much like Democrats dismiss any opposition view, regardless how well founded or plausible. The Austrian school of economics goes back to Karl Menger and Vienna, a place of free thought, unlike most places today, where ideology reigns over reality. It’s really a contest of rationality vs. irrationality. Liberals side with the latter, and denigrate the former, in economics as well as other fields. Yet in economics, the rationality assumption is basic to the entire science. To the extent it is still a science, and not a mere ideology. In abnormal psychology, irrationality drives the theory, and those who propose those theories.

Difference between BS and BA in Psychology?

A BS is a a Bachelor of Science and a BA is a Bachelor of Arts. Now I would imagine this doesn't actually answer your question so...

A BS degree focuses more on science related classes. If you are looking into psychology this would probably expand more on medical issues and diagnosis.

A BA degree focuses more on liberal arts. This will give you a very broad base of knowledge on a number of different subjects, but will generally have greater emphasis on sociology and human behavior.

That being said, I am guessing you would want to go for the BS. However, you will need to check with the University that you choose to attend to see which path is right for you, and an advisor will be able to quide you in the right direction. The following link has more information.

Why do white liberals hate themselves so much?

I was reading an article in the paper the other day about a white woman that was raped by 3 black men and she refused to press charges on them because she didnt want to be seen as a racist. Hey white liberals do you know you are like the only people that hate their own kind. No other race talks bad about their own people the way you do. and dont give me some bs answer about how whites have been so bad for 1000s of years, all cultures and races fought wars and oppressed others for centuries its human nature. but what is not human nature is to be so selfdestructive, you people have accepted the war on your minds by the public education system and the media.

Between liberals and conservatives, why do liberals seem to be consistently meaner and more spiteful?

I've noticed that, especially on here, liberals seem to always be the ones on the attack. On several occasions I've tried to ask honest answers that were intended to bring up relevant issues and see what people had to say about it from both sides. I made it very clear every time that I was a conservative and that I wanted to just understand what people thought both on my end of the spectrum and the opposing side.

I even specifically asked for people to not just insult me or take jabs at me, because I really did just want to understand what people really thought. But what happened? The liberals attacked me like a pack of wolves attacking prey. But I mean, it didn't really bother me because such people are just pathetically ignorant and didn't have anything better to say, but I noticed that I only ever see liberals really attacking people who aren't being confrontational to begin with. The thing that really bugged me is that I was still nowhere as far as understanding what the other side had to say went.

The times I've tried to be reasonable like this, the libs don't hesitate to attack without even addressing the issues presented. I'm not saying all liberals are like this, I'm just saying I come across this kind of crap very frequently from their side. It's kind of like when two little kids are fighting about something and one kid knows they're either wrong or they don't have anything intelligent to argue so they try to bash the other kid down in order to look better.

Thoughts? Comments?

(If anyone has anything insulting to say, save yourself some time and just email it to me so I can at least respond to whatever you want to dish out because I'm anticipating a lot of people desiring to take a shot)

Thanks guys
