Can low iron cause missed periods?

low iron can cause missed and irregular periods

Irregular periods and anemia?

hi
i`m doctor gynecology from japan

as i seen in your case
the problem that you suffering from is due to hormonal imbalance
you should know that the menstruation cycle varies from woman to woman
the cycle range from 24 - 35 day for one cycle
so if the cycle not occur in this period every 24-35 days
that called irregularities

and one of the irregularities is due to anemia

so as i tell you before
this situation because of your hormonal imbalance
so i want to ask you a few question
1- do you take any iron supplements? for your anemia
2-did you make estrogen / progesterone lab analysis?
if no
3-do your armpits or your groin hair grows regularly? because there grows is an indicator for your hormonal stat
4-do you masturbate? because if u not your hormonal will be suppressed
5-do your menses come for ex: now and the next time is after 2 months?
6-is the bleeding (blood flow) during period is little (drops) and happen in just one day or 3-5 days

sorry about the 3nd and 4th question but it`s necessary to answer these question?
it`s important to answer because according to your answer i`ll tell u what to do

i`m waiting for your answer

----------------

according to your answer
I think that you are normal
but about your hair I think you should not shave for at least one month and I will evaluate your situation according to that issue
also
you said that you don't masterbate and that maybe also one major cause for your hormonal imbalance
so I suggest you to masterbate two times a week
or at least once a week
to pump the hormone to your body
but again
I assure you that your situation is normally occur when the female is anemic
but keep taking your iron pill plus do what I told you

and send a mesage to my email after one month to cheek about you and how do feel and what is the next time for your menses
and what is the chang the happen to you after doing my suggestion

my best wishes

Low iron = No Period ?

Are you young? Do you workout a lot? Has your period ever been regular or are you typically irregular? all of these are other reasons your period has yet to come .

No, if your iron is low it will take more than two iron pills to build your iron back up. Have you been tired a lot lately? Being tired is a sign of anemia which means low iron and can make you have an irregular period.

You should talk to your doctor. Not having your period is unhealthy and can make you loose bone mass which can lead to other more serious illnesses (such as osteoporosis).

If their is a possibility that you are pregnant than you should take a pregnancy test before visiting the Doctor? Some people don't get morning sickness. Other symptoms come later on in the pregnancy.

Would anemia cause irregular periods?

From p. 200 "Prescription for Nutritional Healing":

"Established anemia can produce such symptoms as weakness; fatigue; coldness of the extremities; depression; dizziness; overall pallor, most noticeably in pale and brittle nails; pale lips and eyelids; soreness in the mouth; and in women, cessation of menstruation."

I have had anemia in the past and I have had dizziness, coldness, fatigue, and loss of period (cessation of menstruation). It's best to have your iron levels checked by a doctor to make sure, as you can get toxic amounts of iron in your system if that is not something your body needs extra of.

Ladies, is it not normal to have irregular periods at 18?

I got my first period around 13 and I still have not fallen into a regular pattern. I have been skipping periods for months and it has been on/off. Is this normal?
I thought it may be because of stress during school but now that school's over, this is still a problem. And could this also be a problem due to malnutrition? To be honest, I do not think I get all the daily vitamins and nutrients. I have irregular eating patterns and do not eat healthy. On top of it, I am a vegetarian and do not get much iron.
Is this something I should see a doctor about? Or is this normal?

What does it mean when your period is LATE?

I'm not pregnant, I'm 17 and I do NOT mess around. I don't have a boyfriend and I haven't done any of those "things" so why is it late? I've been kind of stressed out lately.

What causes period pain but no period?

You don’t give enough information even to wildly speculate. :-)In general cramps of a period involve prostaglandin hormone release. Bowel cramps also involve prostaglandin release. If the cramps are not when your period is expected, you should look elsewhere for cause. That is best I can do for now.I suggest you call your doctor and give your symptoms details and have him/her decide how to followup.

Can iron deficiency anemia cause heavy periods? Are heavy periods normal or abnormal?

I also have iron deficiency, and so I’ve done some research on this topic. I think it's more so the other way around, as women require far more iron intake then men do, due to the extra blood loss they experience every month. Naturally, iron is in blood, so when your body is constantly producing extra blood to line your uterus, you’re losing iron that can be used for other bodily functions, and if you don’t compensate this loss (through diet, supplements, etc) then you can give yourself iron deficiency anemia. If extremely heavy periods are a concern for you, then maybe speak to a doctor. Exercise and certain foods can help slow down flow… and there is also the option of taking birth control, which regulates your hormones and significantly decreases period pain and flow.If iron deficiency specifically is a problem, then you can try taking a multivitamin (I recommend women-specific ones, if you think your period is causing it,) or an actual iron-specific supplement. If you don’t like taking pills, then you can always change your diet to include iron-rich foods, like meats and dark greens like spinach.

Can stress make periods really late?

It’s not uncommon to skip a period when you’re stressed out. It’s just one of the many ways stress affects the body when you go into survival mode. Some other ways are:Low energy.Headaches.Upset stomach, including diarrhea, constipation, and nausea.Aches, pains, and tense muscles.Chest pain and rapid heartbeat.Insomnia.Frequent colds and infections.Loss of sexual desire and/or ability.[1]So why does it happen? When you’re stressed out, it reduces the function of the hypothalamus, which affects the pituitary gland- the pituitary gland is like the master control center for adrenal glands, your thyroid, and even your ovaries.Together, they all work to keep your hormones in check. When one of them or all of them are not functioning at their best, it creates a domino effect.Your estrogen production slows down > ovulation halts > and then your ovaries quick working right which then leads to a missed cycle or even irregular periods. To get your periods back on track, you’ll want to consult with a doctor to rule out serious health problems, but you’ll also want to lighten your work load and learn stress management techniques, like meditation, painting, breathing, etc.Footnotes[1] Stress Symptoms: Effects of Stress on the Body
