How have the Michaels stores expanded their business in U.S.A?
My favorite one, the one on Delaware Avenue in San Mateo off of U.S. 92 got expanded into a hole in the ground. There’s condominiums going up there now.I used to buy a lot of paints, pencils, various types of paper, and matting board from them. I talked to the people who worked there, and there were no real plans to move the staff anywhere else when the place closed; they knew they’d have to find work, but not where.I’m not sure about the other Michaels stores.I do know there’s still one on the East side of El Camino Real, just North of Hillsdale Blvd., across from the where half the Hillsdale Mall used to be.That part of the mall used to house the food court, Sears, a parking structure, and an Outback Steakhouse, before it was expanded into a hole in the ground. There’s condominiums going up there now.I should probably visit that one, but it’s in a building that used to have a lighting store, and before that a Scandinavian furniture store, and before that a decorating store, and before that a container store.I only ever see it going South, and I can only access it going North, and only from the exit and onramp (the rest of El Camino can’t access it at all; it’s an underpass that bypasses being able to get to it), so it’s out of mind when you can get to it, and in mind only when you can’t.It’s a terrible location, accessible only from Northbound El Camino, and then only if you take the Hillsdale Blvd. exit, and then instead of exiting, you go through the light; so I don’t hold out much hope for it.But you know: it’d be worth “showing the flag” as it were.

How can you make a paper mache pinata without a balloon...or buying one?
what an unusual question! I have only ever made them using a balloon... obviously you need a shape to 'mould' your paper mache onto, and ballons can be easily removed afterwards If you're not fussed about the shape of the finished pinata, you could recycle an old cereal packet as your base, and paper mache over that... although I would be careful not to make the paper mache too wet... or the box might collapse in on itself!! maybe you could put a large freezer bag over the box before you start... something that would 'waterproof' it without adding too much strength to the finished product good luck... and I am very curious about why you are reluctant to use a balloon... is it because of an allergy? or you don't want to be limited by the balloon shape? I'm such a sticky beak!
