Does My Choice Of Outfit Look Appropriate For A Job Interview In A Law Firm

Is it okay to wear slacks and a polo shirt for a job interview?

The answer will depend on the position as much as anything, in general this is the lowest level of dress that you should have for any job interview. I would caution you to do a little research, as simple as a quick Google search of the term "appropriate interview attire for _______", in general you should dress one level above what the position will require. Thus, if the position would be mostly a t-shirt and jeans position- a polo and slacks would be completely appropriate. If you'd be required to dress "business casual" (which is polo shirt and slacks) on a daily basis, you'd want to dress in professional business attire. The reason I tell you to research, is because these requirements CAN and DO vary depending upon position...software development is one example, though there are others.

For men, suits are recommended for you job interview. For women, simple dark corporate attires will suffice.2. Simple and clean haircutApplicant’s hair must be neat and styled conservatively. What should you NEVER wear to a job interview?

Anything that causes you to be memorable for your clothing rather than your capability.A ‘job interview’ can take place across an enormous range of industries. Sure, we traditionally think of job interviews in the context of an office-based role where wearing a suit would be the natural, default choice.Sometimes, though, going all-in on formality isn’t the right choice. In some industries, the day-to-day dress code for workers is considerably more casual: the tech sector jumps to mind, as well as hedge funds and many others. In these situations, dressing too formally will undermine your chances, and make you look like an outsider. The best rule of thumb, in my view, is to gauge the dress code that’s prevalent in the company or industry you’re interviewing with, and then go one notch higher in formality. In the end, your clothing should usually be fundamentally unmemorable to the interviewer. If it left enough of an impression that the interviewer can still recall your outfit a day after the interview, you probably got it wrong.

Stable job interview, dress and what to bring?

I have an interview at a hunter/jumper barn tomorrow as a groom. Im not going dressed up like its an office job, because obviously its not, and if I were the interviewer I would be confused if someone showed up at my barn dressed like its the office. So, I plan to wear dark blue jeans, fitted flannel shirt, black tee underneath, and maybe my workboots (Ariat Fatbaby boots). I also have my field boots, dress boots, or paddock boots, but I usually save those for more of a riding job, and since it isnt I dont feel if that would be as appropriate. I dont want to go like a glamour girl all cute looking and everything because thats not what horse work is about, then again I do want to look presentable. If you were the interviewer for a hunter/jumper barn how would you want the interviewee to dress (if they were applying for a groom position)? Also, I already sent the barn my resume (thats why they set up an interview with me), but should I bring the records from all the barns I've worked at, and like certificates of awards I've recieved from the barns?

Yes, Im very familiar with the hunter/jumper world, I rode on the circuit for a few years. But, I'm just curious that if I show wearing fatbabys (even though they are strictly work boots for me), what they would think.

thanks!

Can i wear gloves to an interview?

Wearing gloves during an interview these days would make you look very old-fashioned; it's the sort of thing women would do in the early 1960's.

I don't know if I have hyperhydrosis, but my hands do sweat, especially if I am nervous or under stress. I'd keep a paper towel in your pocket and unobtrusively wipe your palm off inside the pocket and then shake hands. I was also told that holding your hands under cold running water before going into the interview can help. You should also try to take some calming breaths, just in case part of the problem is nerves.

In any case, people who do job interviews probably shake hands with many people who have sweaty palms. It's an accepted and known part of the job. Unless your hands are just dripping all the time, it's not likely to be a problem.

Definitely, do not start explaining your diagnosis. That's a turn-off to interviewers, and it's frankly none of their business.
